What happened to the letters the government were writing to every household?

About 10 days ago I thought it was announced that the government was writing to every household in the country to reiterate the advice regarding CV

I thought it seemed a waste of time and money as you’d have to be living in a bunker to have not heard to before but that’s beside the point

Did anyone actually receive this letter?

Posting letters through doors makes it far more likely for everyone to see rather than media announcements, not everyone watches TV and/or listens to radio.

Egghead68 · 10/04/2020 14:57

Not had mine. Waste of money anyhow.

LuluJakey1 · 17/04/2020 23:28

Anyone still not had theirs? We haven't and PIL and SIL - live locally - haven't.

kazza446 · 17/04/2020 23:40

No, we’ve not had one yet! I was hoping for one so the kids could make a time capsule!

UntamedShrew · 17/04/2020 23:43

No we haven’t (in London)

EmpressMcSchnozzle · 18/04/2020 00:11

We've not received ours yet either. Rats. I was so looking forward to framing my Lockdown 2020 (Now A Compulsory Global Multiplayer Game) "Protect and Survive" letter for posterity....

ButtonMoonLoon · 18/04/2020 00:12

No, nothing here (South East)

Davros · 18/04/2020 00:23

We haven't had it here either, London too. I was wondering about it

MsPepperPotts · 18/04/2020 00:41

Got mine last week - went straight in the bin...God knows how many people were involved in the processing of this mountain of letters and envelopes and the astronomical cost and waste of money.

Midnight0 · 18/04/2020 00:42

We got it twice about a week ago in East Midlands

Geepipe · 18/04/2020 02:12

Got mine 2 weeks ago as did everyone i know in the area and adjoining city and towns here north west.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 18/04/2020 06:53

We still haven't had it. Farcical

MaxNormal · 18/04/2020 06:58

Nothing here either. Scotland.

Egghead68 · 18/04/2020 07:06

Nothing here.

VashtaNerada · 18/04/2020 07:17

None here (London). How pointless. If it takes this long for letters to arrive then clearly there’s no point. Advice is changing so quickly at the moment.

LuluJakey1 · 18/04/2020 10:42

Like everything the government have 'rolled-out' in this pandemic, it seems to have been haphazard, chaotic and badly thought-through in the first place. No doubt they are 'working night and day' 'straining every sinew' to get them out. Hmm

Mystraightenersarebroken · 18/04/2020 10:43

If you didn't get one you haven't missed anything

Lordfrontpaw · 18/04/2020 10:47

We got ours ages ago - 2 in fact.

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 18/04/2020 10:50

We've still.nit had ours either. Live in London. I'd forgotten all about it until.i saw this thread.

Lordfrontpaw · 18/04/2020 10:51

I’m trying to remember if they were names or just addressed.

Pelleas · 18/04/2020 10:54

Nothing here!

WrongKindOfFace · 18/04/2020 10:57

Still nothing here. Normal post is arriving ok and only delayed by a day or two.

sanealaddin · 18/04/2020 11:00

I'm in London and we got the letter about 2 weeks ago.

Davros · 18/04/2020 15:22

I can't fault their response to the "extremely vulnerable" of which, I discovered last week, I am one

LuluJakey1 · 05/05/2020 01:48

We still haven't had our letter. Not expecting it now. None of our neighbours or friends locally have had theirs. I bet it was a pile of poo anyway. Wasted taxpayers' money.
