What happened to the letters the government were writing to every household?

About 10 days ago I thought it was announced that the government was writing to every household in the country to reiterate the advice regarding CV

I thought it seemed a waste of time and money as you’d have to be living in a bunker to have not heard to before but that’s beside the point

Did anyone actually receive this letter?

I did actually read the letter and may be I missed something but it isn't an opinion piece, it's confirming the rules and thanking the NHS.

Did anyone spot any lies?

Unfortunately a local funeral director had decided it was a good time to send out an advertising mail shot so we all got a leaflet about organising our own funeral at the same time as the government COVID19 letter...

I'm sorry to admit I laughed at that. We got a funeral mail shot just as lockdown started.

No, not a conspiracy, but if you believe what you are told you're a bit stupid. We are only ever told on a need to know basis, irrespective of a virus.

Ours is in the recycling but not before dh had crossed out the patronising 'for us' on the leaflet and corrected some of the porkies on the letter. Putting in the right measures from the start? Evidently not.

Comma used instead of an apostrophe, for an it's, and no extra space left between the t and the s. Looked like it had been added o after printing.
A double spacing just before "level with you". There were more, but those were the two that really stuck out, as they were in the same sentence!

Ours arrived today. Not any of our normal posties. Not addressed. 3 hours after we normally get post. Looked like the only thing he was delivering was the official letter.

We haven't had one but I am assuming it's because we are in the North-East which appears to not exist for the government.

Got mine. I think it more depends on how your postal service is doing as to when you get it.

Still haven't had ours. Why couldn't they just have done a tv/radio announcement on all main stations/channels? That would have got to most people.
