The other thread is filling up fast so setting up the foundation for our new evil lair. One where we follow real guidelines, not made up ones, make sock cocks ,ruin hair and bemoan the shortage of Spanish soldiers.

This is where we'll keep each other sane or descend into madness together... depends on the day.

Maxandezra · 10/04/2020 17:38

Cheers soup. Glad you day has been better. I'm on my second gin!
Dd1(20) is having a wobble day. Quite testing....
But I have gin, and I've ordered Chinese, all is not lost 😂

Bananabixfloof · 10/04/2020 17:45

Am opening wine soon, just making omelettes first, wasting real eggs, God how very dare I.
Thinking that although I have no cocoa powder I do have coffee and the aforementioned eggs and flour and butter and two kinds of sugar. I feel a few coffee cakes will be made tomorrow.
How many people will DIE because I made cakes? Gotta be lots and lots right?

Maxandezra · 10/04/2020 17:50

Ooooh coffee cake, I love coffee cake..... 🎂😋

Maxandezra · 10/04/2020 17:51

But obviously you will be responsible for the deaths of an entire generation of coffee bean harvesters.

Willow2017 · 10/04/2020 17:52

Ooh save me a bit of coffee cake please.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 10/04/2020 17:58

Bananabixfloof · 10/04/2020 18:09

Will put up pictures tomorrow when they are made. DP has just informed me he is making a marble cake tomorrow. Inspired by his sister apparently. 🤷‍♀️
Gonna be eating lots of cake I think.

TheGreatWave · 10/04/2020 18:23

Well, shed building going very slow, we discovered that the original base was actually quite shit. Whichever previous owner installed the shed, basically lobbed a bit of concrete down in 4 places and balanced the slabs on top. We have basically had to do a Blue Peter Stick back plastic style fix.

So tomorrow we can actually resume building the shed.

soupforbrains · 10/04/2020 18:52

I hadn’t realised baking cakes was illegal.

I’ve been baking loads! Baking is sort of my therapy so when I am stressed or wobbly I tend to bake. Lately that’s been a lot. Since I have a well stocked baking cupboard I’ve not been hit by the shortages in the shops.

I baked lemon drizzle today, a Victoria sponge with fresh cream and strawberries on Wednesday and a chocolate orange cake last weekend. Not to mention cupcakes!

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 10/04/2020 18:55

@TheGreatWave can you use superglue? That was dad's solution to anything going wrong. I swear that flat and everything in it is held by string, sellotape, superglue and sheer power of will.Grin

@Willow2017 Don't encourage him please Grin He suggested that I pick a beach ball up when I go shopping so that next week he can lean out and ask her if she can balance a ball on her nose while clapping. Turned out it was the woman in the flat next to us - she told me today that she was surprised we didn't 'partake' Hmm I said I never partook in clapping and didn't intend to start now and she'd have to excuse me as my wine would be getting warm. She didn't half slam her front door!

Willow2017 · 10/04/2020 19:12

BamboozledandBefuddled
Ha ha you spoilsport that would make her wind her nexk in!

TheGreatWave · 10/04/2020 19:32

Super glue, duck tape and wd40 is all that is needed in life.

soupforbrains · 10/04/2020 20:06

@PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock of course. Might help my sanity. And my waistline!

Am just watching Groundhog day now. It’s feels rather apt for this period of time.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 10/04/2020 20:31

Oh FFS the thread disappeared again and I had a short moment of panic thinking I've been abandoned.

Tbh, I probably deserve it. After reading a few more threads I have this fucked up image in my head of MNetters furiously wanking and Gollum style whispering /heavy breathing "misery...misery..yesss...more misery". I swear some people must get off on it and if it's not readily available they're more than happy to cause it. Fucking grief vampires.

Send help ...and eye bleach.

soupforbrains · 10/04/2020 20:36

Er... so i actually work in safety and I do actually have some portable eye wash stations in the boot of my car.

I could hand deliver one to you if you like. I don’t have much else to be doing, I’m sure nobody would mind Grin

Willow2017 · 10/04/2020 20:37

Princess
I find myself clicking on a thread and opening it, reading the op and maybe the first 3 posts then closing it again as I just get fecking wound up with either the op 'reporting' somebody/something, complining about something thats frankly nothing to do with them or the mass hysteria that follows because op dared to question something.
Its getting really annoying Angry

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 10/04/2020 20:45

I could hand deliver one to you if you like.

I'm sure it would definitely be considered essential, must fall under caring for another (fucking lost it) person.

BamboozledandBefuddled · 10/04/2020 21:22

Dear god that's a depressing image Shock Excuse me while I get more wine to get over it!

TrainspottingWelsh · 10/04/2020 21:45

For those of you having wobbles or difficulties, I'd like to offer the phrases 'well yes everyone has problems/ it's difficult for everyone/ we all have to get on with it'. That will definitely make you feel instantly better, and demonstrates empathy and validates your feelings. Loads of covidiots are saying it so it must be true, and in another week it will be quoted as a lockdown law.

I've solved the conundrum of nhs staff doing perfectly reasonable things that nevertheless go against the roolz. Clap and chant 'stay at home'. Or if you have an audience clap and thank them profusely, and then later post something about whether it's responsible for nhs staff to be buying a none essential/ exercising/ talking to someone 6' away.

Pringletastic · 10/04/2020 21:57

Welcome ratbag - well done for murdering your neighbour with your FLOUR baked cake. Hopefully you realise the error of your ways (potato in cakes from now on please).

Pringletastic · 10/04/2020 22:00

Trainspotting - I like that idea. I plan to clap and chant 'Stay at Home' at everyone I see tomorrow, just in case.
