The other thread is filling up fast so setting up the foundation for our new evil lair. One where we follow real guidelines, not made up ones, make sock cocks ,ruin hair and bemoan the shortage of Spanish soldiers.

This is where we'll keep each other sane or descend into madness together... depends on the day.

Oh you lovely lot! I am so delighted I found this thread. As I was reading through and laughing A LOT a police helicopter flew over the garden! I suspect that it's for me as I'm sitting in my garden drinking a glass of wine (and I intend to have at least one more), smoking a fag and looking at our inflatable hot tub which we dragged out of the shed yesterday and cleaned up. Wasting water AND precious electricity

Gigabitten · 08/04/2020 18:46

Boxed wine uses the same type of bag used to transport the stuff to be bottled.

The rise in price so for the damn glass.

Don't forget to remove the bag from the box to get the last of the wine out.

DiscoDown · 08/04/2020 18:47

I don't mind sharing, I've got a bottle of Dettol! If not, how many batteries did you get @BananaBixFloof?

Pack of 12.
My cat has just appeared for feeding. Must be wine time.

Ahh, I just found this! Hello again.

DH went out to buy himself a birthday cake earlier. While he was at it, he also bought chocolate, crisps AND a melon. In fact everything on the banned list!

On the way back, he walked through the park. Apparently there were police circling and they homed in on two (presumably unrelated) teenage lads who were sitting on the grass. They told the boys to be very careful and sit a little further apart so that they didn't put themselves or their families at risk - and allowed them to stay there Shock

I’m very pleased to find you lot...

Although I must confess I wasn’t even aware just quite how many rules I was flouting. When did melons become illegal? I also purchased a pineapple yesterday is that illegal too.

My cats are roaming free, I spent a couple of hours in my unfenced off front garden this afternoon too...

I’m expecting the police to show up any time now though as my sister and nieces yelled a conversation to us from the end of the front path while we were at the living room (during their daily walk) and then not a half hour later my mother did the same.

We all live in the same village so at least nobody had driven to where they were walking I suppose...

I am still watching the neighbour's garage to see if they have any Spanish soldiers stashed away in there. I will keep you posted.

Ah man, those are way better colours than mine! Where did you get them from?

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 08/04/2020 20:37

Ebay. Yes another unnecessary delivery Grin.

DD and her friends take turns to add stuff to each other's drawings when they go out. Or write messages to each other.

I'm willing to kit out dp as a Spanish soldier if anyone will have him? Hell, he'd probably be willing to kit himself out as a pantomime horse if anyone would take him and let him have some peace. He isn't faulty or anything, it's just because his workload is more time consuming and stressful from home, and mine has become stupidly easy and less than part time. Teen dc are now officially on holiday so aren't even pretending to do anything approaching study, and he's cramping the holiday atmosphere.

No worries i get every last drop out😉

I started reading that thread and got to "criminal damage" mentioned twice then backed quickly away before i got banned! Honest to freaking god whats wrong with people?

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 08/04/2020 20:52

Oh God, someone has started a new thread asking if BBQs are acceptable. How long before the competitive misery starts?

On a happier note, DH's order of netting to redo the cat proofing in the garden should arrive tomorrow. That'll keep him busy for a while as he's bored to tears!

Gigabitten · 08/04/2020 20:58

It's been interesting seeing how some people have changed.

Those who I thought were fairly pleasant, have either turned out to be the most selfless people I've ever had the pleasure to know, while others have turned out to be awful.
Those who I didn't like in the first place have done nothing but affirmed by opinion about them. They have done everything that I predicted they would - visitors, parties, kids over, all pile into 1 car to disappear for the day etc..

I've been on and off MN for about ten years so have been witness to various changes in posting styles and general moods on the board as a whole, but these last few weeks really have been an eye opener - the level of hysteria, (ok, born from fear of the situation), the judgements, the nastiness and aggressiveness, such as that chalk/pavement thread....and yet, on the other hand, for the first time in a long time, a thread where someone can have a whinge about anything - and not a single nasty comment on it - or poster who has taken offence. Instead, lots of support, eg, this thread and the rant thread.

TrainspottingWelsh · 08/04/2020 21:01

Are bbqs now illegal too? Wish I had known earlier, a family down the lane were having one, I could have gone and glared at them through the hedge. Wearing my biohazard suit and wielding bleach spray of course.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 08/04/2020 21:14

Apparently so. They aren't in the spirit of lockdown and the smoke could affect the lungs of your neighbours who have Covid-19.

It was on the same thread where I was called an idiot and a bit thick for buying milk and getting some chocolate at the same time so it's not surprising really. They were really out in force on that one!

loobyloo1234 · 08/04/2020 21:16

😂 this place is bat shit at times. I bought a disposable BBQ today. As I did last week. Essential in warm weather ... right?

TrainspottingWelsh · 08/04/2020 21:18

And there was me thinking the problem with the neighbours bbq was the smell making me hungry!
