The other thread is filling up fast so setting up the foundation for our new evil lair. One where we follow real guidelines, not made up ones, make sock cocks ,ruin hair and bemoan the shortage of Spanish soldiers.

This is where we'll keep each other sane or descend into madness together... depends on the day.

Waves at Gin. I actually have another confession. We live less than a mile from the beach. In normal times we walk there every day, but the narrow traffic-free path is giving me the heebie-jeebies. It’s just too brambly on each side to be able to do any sort of social distancing, even if both parties are doing their best. If one is a teen on their phone, you have no chance. So (shock!), we have been taking the car every night to the deserted links. They are massive and flat so you can see anyone at risk of getting within 50m of you and take action. We don’t even use the dog poo bins, but lovingly transport the dog’s shit back to our own bin. So we touch nothing. But we drive for 4 minutes each way, and while we are their, we breathe. About 15 times a minute times 4 for 45 minutes. That’s a lot of breathing. I have also had an online shop delivered. And yesterday, after the GP got in touch to confirm my DD was vulnerable (but not shielded), I baked a cake to cheer us all up. Using flour, sugar, butter and eggs that came in my online shop. Then I counted my toilet rolls, because I do not mandate that two squares are enough for a shit. Pass me the whip.

Ooooh yes please to this thread. I was beginning to think I was the only one who isn’t living in some totalitarian state fantasy.

Maxandezra · 07/04/2020 13:42

Having read through the full thread I feel ready to confess:
I have 6 children (yes 6😂) This includes a 21 and 20 Yr old returned from uni.
Everytime I shop I have a huge trolley full because I'm feeding 8 people aged 12 upwards 😂
I shop more than once a week
I have bough Easter Eggs for the kids
I have bought wine, gin, beer and chocolate
I sometimes run for more than an hour (on my own, in the country lanes)
I have ordered various non essential items from amazon including lego for my ds 12th bday last week, a new hammock for the garden and marshmallows to toast on the fire pit

I'm sure there's probably more..... But that's a start.
Oh, and I didn't bloody clap for NHS last week cause I was in bed cause I was so bloody knackered from actually doing my ridiculous busy clinical NHS job that day.

Shoot me now. 😂

ilovecherries · 07/04/2020 13:44

The corona space-hoppers in that pic doing the rounds on FB is another thing that’s giving me the heebie-jeebies. It’s been posted 11 times on my local group today already, with #staysafe #dontbreathe #beafuckinghero #yourwalkscostlives #clapyoubastardclap etc etc. I’d leave, but it has proved an invaluable source of food delivery. Seaside town so lots of hotels have started to do deliveries of fruit and veg, butcher meat, fish and bread.

In the interest of research fucking bored I posted by balcony question.
So far everyone thinks it's fine. Almost disappointed in the lack of concern batshittery

cherries maybe turn it into a bingo or drinking game instead. My FB has started ramping up so I'm hiding on here in case I'll say something (many things) I regret.

I do have one that makes me giggle every time tho. He has on profile pics Save lives stay at home AND I'm a key worker (he's not) I can't stay at home.

Cold that's because the worst offenders are busy at this time of day watching the roads and driveways for any offenders and reporting any breathings, walking or laughing that they see. Give it time

@smile was a bit blindsided by the snack concern. Thought I'd get it from the being outside and therefore socialising angle. As someone who never got picked at netball v.proud of my mini roll tossing skill.

@Maxandezra, wine and gin? Tut tut.
Here is obligatory unconcerned cat. Also, I played hide and seek again just now and I baked a two tier cake yesterday.

Back from the shop with bread and a totally unnecessary lottery ticket and chocolate cake to see I've been nominated lookout scout.
Just as soon as I can be arsed I'm gonna make a badge.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 07/04/2020 14:08

Awww kitty cat .

I laughed more than I should at this. It's not even that funny, I just couldn't help myself. I think I'm slippin'

Loving the star trek meme!

I think I was impressed by dads simple sentence that said 'I dont like the clapping for the NHS, I also dont want an std'

I knew he was say something funny. I do love him.....but still bought hair dye. Oddly he doesnt think I risked his life when I bought it Grin

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 07/04/2020 14:36

Oh no Willow that's a pain in the arse. Hopefully you'll find some way to me it good enough to live with.

We redid the whole flat ourselves and to quote an (ex) friend "oh it does look very DIY" . I'm more than ok with it , attention span of a newt and inability to follow instructions, but it did bother builder OH for quite a long time. Even he's over it now, last time i painted he didn't even bother to remind me about not going over the lines.

We do what's needed, when needed the best we can.

Willow2017 · 07/04/2020 14:40

Its annoying but i will live😀 its not much and probably not noticable after a while.
I am a bit pernicity when it comes to diy but if i get frustrated too often i think "oh sod it!" 😄

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 07/04/2020 14:43
