I really hope the Pm overcomes this. However much i wasn't a fan before he has done his best in what is truly a national crisis. I hope he recovers very soon

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 05/04/2020 22:18

That doesn’t make me fickle, it’s just general human decency

I think its probably projection

That poster can’t imagine disliking someone and not wishing them dead

Peregrina · 05/04/2020 22:18

...'what has been described as'

A bit like the euphemism - helping the police with their enquiries, when we know it's a bit more than that.

AlexaShutUp · 05/04/2020 22:18

I don't like his politics and I don't rate him as a leader, but I sincerely hope that he makes a quick recovery.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 05/04/2020 22:19

Not meradith obviously

Surely if he's the leader of the country they would be extra cautious though and would admit him sooner rather than later?

Even now people can’t stop having a go at other people for having an opinion, you are allowed to like or dislike a politician for their views and in this case their lack of actions - doesn’t mean you want them to die.
The amount of gushing on this thread about a man youse don’t even know is quite weird.

MissEliza · 05/04/2020 22:20

I hope he's ok. I imagine he's been trying to work while being ill and he's not given his body a chance to rest and fight the virus. I feel sorry for his partner. I wouldn't wish that situation on anybody.

Michelleoftheresistance · 05/04/2020 22:20

Poor man Sad I'm sure there are private medics attached to the 10 Downing Street staff and they'll throw the best they can at him, holding together the man who runs the country is fairly important really. But yes, you wouldn't do the high risk and security nightmare without good reason.

kingofkings · 05/04/2020 22:21

It is an emergency attendance/ admission but not taken in by ambulance.
There are no routine hospital visits either in general at present or out of hours 8 pm Sunday.

Sammymommy · 05/04/2020 22:21

@Bool Your husband is not the Prime Minister. It is an absolute security nightmare to have him go to the hospital. A doctor would have come to him or he would have gone to the hospital for whatever test and go back. If they keep him, it's not to hold his hand and gaze into his eyes.

Fallsballs · 05/04/2020 22:21

‘He’s done his best’ eh no he hasn’t/didn’t ffs

Defenbaker · 05/04/2020 22:21

I feel very sad about this. He's not perfect and has made mistakes, but I really hoped he would recover quickly and bounce back into public life soon.

I miss his positive vibes and feel that he was doing his best to lead us through this awful crisis. Maybe he needs to rest more but has been overdoing things, against medical advice, so they have taken him in to save him from his stubborn self? I hope he recovers soon.

Michelleoftheresistance · 05/04/2020 22:21

…..bloody hell. Seriously? This isn't a situation funny for anyone to be in, what's the matter with you? I swear, this thread included, I've now hidden about half of MN today.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 05/04/2020 22:21

The amount of gushing on this thread about a man youse don’t even know is quite weird

Has there been much gushing

nocoolnamesleft · 05/04/2020 22:21

I despise Boris. But I want him to get better fast. I don't like his leadership, but at present we'd be even more screwed if government collapsed.

kingofkings · 05/04/2020 22:21

Private medics? Sick pepper need nhs medics

hoxtonbabe · 05/04/2020 22:22

@pocketem

EXACTLY!

LarkDescending · 05/04/2020 22:22

The Guardian is saying it received information last week that his condition was more serious than anybody was admitting, but that when it was raised with Downing St the response was a flat denial.

kingofkings · 05/04/2020 22:22

People not pepper

Moomin8 · 05/04/2020 22:23

His partner has the virus too, people know this right?

Londongirl88888 · 05/04/2020 22:23

Perhaps he's going to be given some fluids etc? I can imagine you dehydrate pretty fast with fevers going on for days.

This virus is extremely scary. When this lockdown slowly lifts i will remain worried for my family and friends. Also myself. The thought of any of us getting this unwell is just frightening. It seems more people feel terrible with this than "mild"

I'm starting to think it isn't a mild virus in anyone that gets symptoms. all I've heard is how horrendous people feel.

Surely herd immunity over time is not a good idea. If 80% of us are getting this virus I dread to think how many children will be left without a mum or dad. Even someone like Boris who will eat good food and have the best health care etc is struggling.

He looked terrible the other day. Everyday this virus gets scarier.

Peregrina · 05/04/2020 22:23

I hope he recovers, and then realises that although he's coveted the job for years, that he's not up to it, and resigns.

Didn't MacMillan resign with prostate problems, then it was found not to be all that serious, and he went on for another 20 odd years?

Mlou32 · 05/04/2020 22:24

Jeezo. I do hope he is ok. The stress of his position at present and sheer relentless hours that he is putting in on top of having the virus can't be good for anyone.
