Just grim... hoping for his family and fiancée that he pulls through🙏🏼

PerkingFaintly · 06/04/2020 21:35

Yes, does look like it Rufus.

Ah so looks like we are not allowed an opinion now

Tonyaster · 06/04/2020 21:39

Ah so looks like we are not allowed an opinion now

I don't think anyone's interested in anyone's 'opinions' at the moment.

frumpety · 06/04/2020 21:39

Normal people are never taken to ICU as a precaution, being Prime minister means you don't have to qualify for the normal protocols for admission to the unit.

PerkingFaintly · 06/04/2020 21:40

politics are nothing to do with feeling sympathy, empathy and worry for a fellow human.

I think that's the very point many posters are making, TiddyTid.

BeetrootRocks · 06/04/2020 21:42

Just no way would they put him in itu unless needed.

Even though Boris.

They can do close monitoring in the private room he has, no probs. And as PM that's fine.

They wouldn't do it unless needed.

Covid · 06/04/2020 21:42

This doesn't surprise me as he looked like he had central cyanosis on last video he did and was quite breathless throughout it.

Fingers crossed he's alright.

It's such a scary illness to have. You just never know how it's going to go.

howwillthispanout · 06/04/2020 21:43

Well we’re hearing a lot of yours Tonyaster! This thread is titled “Boris Johnson in Hospital” - why do my thoughts not count? In my (now deleted) post I specially said I didn’t wish him ill.

ChristmasCarcass · 06/04/2020 21:44

frumpety he’s very clearly very sick.

Peregrina · 06/04/2020 21:46

If he comes through this, people want him to lead again.

If he's fully fit. Getting back to health should be his priority. Ultimately that is more important that any job.

CaroleFuckinBaskin · 06/04/2020 21:47

Ah so looks like we are not allowed an opinion now

Honestly, who cares about your 'opinion' right now?

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 06/04/2020 21:49

Whatever we think about his politics we all need him to pull through.

kingofkings · 06/04/2020 21:49

There are specific indications fir icu care. The person has to be deteriorating to a point no longer manageable on a general ward. The interventions they can implement in itu such as arterial lines etc mean close blood gas monitoring can guide further care.

Eireni · 06/04/2020 21:51

So for an average case it looks like they might be in ICU for up to a week - so we’re unlikely to know how things are going to go very quickly.

Snowjive2 · 06/04/2020 21:53

howwillthispanout I agree, well said.

howwillthispanout · 06/04/2020 21:56

The hypocrisy of those speculating on his own personal care and arrangements in ICU (not all posters of course) and not realising that this is on a par with rubber necking at motorway crash - how are you being more respectful or responsible?

kingofkings · 06/04/2020 21:59

I'm out - people who don't know anything medical here are just sounding off.
This is a horrible disease and people are going off very quickly.

Get well soon Boris we all wish you well

vera99 · 06/04/2020 22:01

Fuck this virus we are HUMANS didn't it get the memo?

frumpety · 06/04/2020 22:04

ChristmasCarcass I am not disputing he is very poorly, just the protocols for me being admitted and the PM of the UK being admitted are probably a little bit different. He wasn't getting better and as far as this virus is concerned if you don't turn a corner there is a real threat you will get much worse. It makes sense to admit him. I hope he gets better soon.

NettleTea · 06/04/2020 22:07

as a human being, I hope he is OK. And all the others currently in ICU.
This is a shitty virus

Mummyoflittledragon · 06/04/2020 22:19

@kingofkings
Personally I’ve read and reread your posts. I have found them very informative and googled your comments for more information. I’m the sort of person, who likes to know things, been described as an information sucker. It’s got nothing to do with rubber necking or being morbid. It’s a personality trait. I actually find it relieving to know he’s probably on a cpap (or bpap?) and not ventilated.

kingofkings · 06/04/2020 22:26

Thanks. Yes I shouldn't get drawn in but it's annoying to see so much speculation and misinformation.
This is serious and let's just hope he improves.

LarkDescending · 06/04/2020 22:43

I hope he makes a rapid recovery.

There’s an interesting timeline in this Guardian report - they say they were passed information as early as last Thursday that a bed was being prepared at St Thomas’s for the PM.

Watching Huw Edwards on BBC News at 10 - I think this is his first? day back at work after his own hospital stay with Covid-related pneumonia.
