One 23 year old nurse was not even allowed to to.stop work when they said they felt ill

That would be due to an awful manager not government policy (which is you should self-isolate if you have symptoms)

Bouledeneige · 06/04/2020 00:16

Well I think the wording is quite clear 'the prime minister continues to have persistent symptoms of coronavirus 10 days after testing positive for the virus.” Persistent symptoms sounds pretty serious and 10 days is thought to be quite a pivot point for the disease. They wont have taken him in for routine tests. Plus he's been rumoured to be working 16 hours a day reeling out complex policy announcements day after day. So he's probably pretty run down. No news of Chris Witty yet?

Bornfreebutincovidchains · 06/04/2020 00:17

You think he's in Watford hospital?

Which one?

Aesopfable · 06/04/2020 00:18

Watford? Why Watford?

Thehouseofmarvels · 06/04/2020 00:18

@PicsInRed

I was hoping that was not the case. Carrie must know this. My thoughts and sympathy are with her right now. I'm hoping that everything will be fine, I was just sort of thinking about what she must be going through right now. No pregnant woman deserves the stress she must be feeling. He might be out by tomorrow but I'd be beside with worry myself if my boyfriend went into hospital with even a mild case.

ChubbyPigeon · 06/04/2020 00:18

I imagine the majority of basic stuff could be done at no.10 Fluids/antibitoics/bloods/obs, i would have thought even oxygen.

He will have been admitted because he needs admitting, not for a precautionary matter and not just for tests

Private hospitals have mostly been taken over by the NHS, and are either being used as 'clean' hospitals or for extra covid patients. And I imagine there wont be any specific private drs.

He is sadly just 1 of 1000s of admissions that will have happened across the country for coronavirus today. And whilst I wish him well, I will be thinking of all the people currently in hospital and their families, the awful news is not Boris being admitted but that so many people are.

I cant stand the man, but theres a huge difference between disliking someones politics/personality and wishing them dead! Its not being a hypocrite to wish someone you dont like reckvers from a fucking awful illness

Lucked · 06/04/2020 00:19

I don’t think they should be saying he is still running the country, if he needs to go into hospital he needs to rest. I don’t have confidence that he is fit enough - I suspect everything we are being told is to not cause alarm.

MorganKitten · 06/04/2020 00:19

Will he be skipping the queue or have to wait for a ventilator?

RhubarbTea · 06/04/2020 00:20

I doubt he's in Watford. I'm sure they could smuggle him in the back door of a central London hospital without too much issue. They must have contingency plans for this sort of thing.
I fucking loathe what he stands for but I hope he is okay and wish him a swift recovery.

Didkdt · 06/04/2020 00:21

The people on here who think their political stance and ideas of the right thing to do make them so superior ethically and intellectually that they can wish ill on a sick man need to have a rethink about whether they really are that much better or more right than a man or political allegiance that they despise there are some deeply twisted people on here this evening

alloutoffucks · 06/04/2020 00:21

Of course he won't be running the country, they are saying he is so there does not have to be a formal handover, but there will have been an informal one.

DarnedSocks · 06/04/2020 00:21

He won't be in Watford. He'll be in a central London hospital. Probably St Thomas's.

goingoverground · 06/04/2020 00:22

The issue at Watford General Hospital was a problem with the oxygen supply, which is why they were turning people away and transferring patients. It is also the hospital where the 23 year old nurse died after feeling unwell during a shift.

Boris is not in Watford.

ChubbyPigeon · 06/04/2020 00:23

I do think its quite distasteful to discuss the funeral arrangements of someone you dont know who is very much not dead.

I dont think its very fair to speculate. I also think its his right to downplay his condition if he wants. No one should be forced to broadcast their medical status to the whlle country

pigsDOfly · 06/04/2020 00:24

I thought it said on the news that he was in a London NHS hospital.

Can't imagine why they would take him to Watford.

alloutoffucks · 06/04/2020 00:24

I don't know if the Brompton is taking corona patients, but that is a top hospital for respiratory patients.
Wherever he is, he will be at the best one.

Peregrina · 06/04/2020 00:24

Plus he's been rumoured to be working 16 hours a day reeling out complex policy announcements day after day.

If so, that was pretty stupid.

UKsounding · 06/04/2020 00:24

B. Johnson contributes to herd immunity - thank you for your service PM.
How does the oLd saying go? The sauce that is good for the geese is good for the gander....?

RosesandIris · 06/04/2020 00:25

He was on twitter a few hours ago!

PutYourBackIntoit · 06/04/2020 00:26

St Thomas' I think. Get well soon Boris.

CatAndHisKit · 06/04/2020 00:26

Not Watford for sure. He'll be in a hospi closest to him (St, Thomas probably as Darned said).

He will have a lungs scan - one of the important tests to see if he's got pneumonia and to what extent, this can't be done in Downing St. obvs.
Antibiotics don't work for viruses (though may treat some subsequent conditions).

alloutoffucks · 06/04/2020 00:26

He wont have been working 16 hour days.

@ChubbyPigeon Of course people are going to discuss the health and possible death of a serving Prime Minister. This affects us all.

JoeExotic · 06/04/2020 00:27

@RosesandIris you don't really think he runs his own Twitter do you?

Serin · 06/04/2020 00:28

All the best Boris.
I know my colleagues in the NHS treat everyone with dedication, whoever they are.
