Does anyone know how his health is and how he’s doing?

For those suffering from COVID19, I’m so sorry and I hope your health improves soon. This was posted by another Mumsnetter and I hope it’s of some help to you.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/3871589-Advice-from-Queens-Hospital-re-breathing-with-CV

I don’t like the man, but I wouldn’t wish COVID19 on anyone.

jimmyhill · 05/04/2020 19:21

Im also worried for Carrie Symmonds. Hope she is being cared for somewhere.

In the lap of luxury, at Chequers, at our expense

BackInTime · 05/04/2020 19:22

When this all started happening didn't Boris spend a week holed up in his country house with Carrie, didn't attend initial Cobra meetings, then came on TV bragging about shaking hands with Corona patients at hospital, guffawing and joking about it all. I don't wish him any harm but the man is a joke.

Kortnee · 05/04/2020 19:22

Apart from the general lack of morality involved in wishing a fatal illness on anyone
The way Boris and his pals wished it on 60% of the population? Despite warnings from other countries?
I think Boris is better at dealing with the freakish than any other candidate I could name right now
What exactly has he done that every ither country hasn't?

Barrique · 05/04/2020 19:23

what pm has had anything as perilous and grueling as brexit to take on, not many! And how brexit has paled into David agaisnt covid goliath...

Brexit is Boris’s own little pet project, and he gave May no help, so absolutely no sympathy there.

And as for Covid? Boris lied and connived his way to PM and then surrounded himself with weirdos and yes men, so as far as I’m concerned it’s a case of be careful what you wish for.

The80sweregreat · 05/04/2020 19:24

It's grim , but I was thinking the other day that if a PM were to die then who would take over? It would be a disaster right now with co vid causing such havoc , but a death would cause even more uncertainty.
If Boris does end up needing to go to hospital on a ventilator then he'll be out of action for weeks.

VegetableMunge · 05/04/2020 19:24

I must admit I had wondered. He looks awful. Plus he's not a young man, his lifestyle and physical condition could both be better and he quite possibly has a higher viral load because of repeated exposure due to his own irresponsibility and stupidity. So it wouldn't surprise me if there's more to this than we've been told.

lotusbell · 05/04/2020 19:24

I'd prefer to hear how Chtis Whitty is doing, it's all gone v quiet

Humina · 05/04/2020 19:25

He didn't follow any of the advice given, so he's probably got a bad dose.

Motherofasleepaphobe · 05/04/2020 19:26

I am not a Boris supporter (or any Tory for that matter) but me and DH we’re talking about this earlier and really do hope he’s ok, he looks awful in his updated video messages and I really hope he’s getting any additional support he needs

People may not approve of him or his government but it’s entirely different to wish the guy dead, some posters on here need to find some bloody compassion

Fruitsaladjelly · 05/04/2020 19:26

I had a high temp for 9 days, not consistently but on and off, corona does really knacker you out, I’m sure he is fine

DobbyTheHouseElk · 05/04/2020 19:26

I think Carrie is at their flat in south London. She’s been in bed for a week, but feels better.

Helpwithaversion · 05/04/2020 19:26

I hope he is better soon

Barrique · 05/04/2020 19:28

Raab is the designated survivor.

Which is just as grim.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 05/04/2020 19:29

Dd was bedridden in a darkened room for 5.5 days needing help to brush her teeth etc

So if he has anything similar to that it will hit him hard and take a while to get over

Fruitsaladjelly · 05/04/2020 19:30

@Porcupineinwaiting I called it the gift that keeps on giving, it does take what feels like an age to recover

Wehttam · 05/04/2020 19:31

I wish both him and his fiancée speedy recoveries.

What happens in the event he is compromised during all of this though?

SansaSnark · 05/04/2020 19:32

If Boris dies or becomes unable to function as PM, we get Dominic Raab, at least in the interim, he's first secretary of state and we don't have a deputy PM right now. Raab is very right wing and comes across as a bit of a sociopath- if he decided on herd immunity to save the economy, I doubt public opinion would change his mind.

I also do think it would be unsettling to people if Boris were to become seriously ill. I do think there are more competent people around- but not in Boris' cabinet!

I think he does look unwell (when we have seen him) but not that seriously unwell. However, 7 days is the point where people can take a turn for the worse, so hopefully he hasn't become more seriously ill.

He's made some awful decisions so far, but I would like him to be around to be held to account for them.

FWIW, if we follow our current track, we will be one of the worst affected countries in Europe, though.

lyralalala · 05/04/2020 19:33

There's already a plan in place. Dominic Raab would take overall charge

Sunshineafterrain24 · 05/04/2020 19:33

I'm worried about him too.
Having said that I'm worried about everyone right now.

Bluesrunthegame · 05/04/2020 19:41

The few recent photos I've seen of Mr Johnson, he looks like he is in the grip of the world's worse hangover! If that what Corona does, my motivation to observe the rules just got stronger. And I've observed them pretty well so far.

The80sweregreat · 05/04/2020 19:41

Dominic Raab. Ok makes sense I suppose.
I hope he can recover, but pneumonia is bad enough on its own without this virus's version of it so to speak and if his a smoker that makes it worse too.
Plus they must all be under so much stress as well. I know we all are before anyone flames me. It's a horrible time for everyone whoever they are.

bellinisurge · 05/04/2020 19:43

I hope the git is getting better. Meanwhile in Ireland, Varadkar is reregistered as a doctor to help out:

Snowymascot · 05/04/2020 19:44

I hate the man, but I do wish him a speedy recovery

Sebw · 05/04/2020 19:47

Chris is fine. He did a conference call with Keir Starmer this morning.
