Currently, I am on holiday.

This is just to let you know I am currently in Sorrento, drinking wine as the sun sets. Today I spent a full day at the museum in Naples (with a long lunch break) and tomorrow I am going to Pompeii.

Tonight's supper will be in one of the many little restaurants along the nearest street and will be accompanied by more wine.

I need to relax as much as possible as next week I am back teaching for my favourite term where kids do lots of exams and we get all the good school trips.

My holiday lasts a full week and I flew, with DH, from Edinburgh yesterday. The flight was great but the airport was very busy and we were too cheap to pay extra so had to sit apart.

The rest of the week is not fully planned but any suggestions welcome.

I'm not booked to go away so am sat in the beer garden of my local with a group of friends. Kids are all playing and we've decided to BBQ tomorrow.

Disclaimer: I am sat in my living room with a gin and tonic having just done the ironing which is still nice.

Changing is going to have to get his skates on. He is joining me for drinks after dinner (once DH is asleep, of course, I am not that cruel).

I normally go to St Ives this time of year, luckily we went in February for DH's birthday, so glad we didn't miss our annual week there.

Honestly - go to Herculaneum instead of Pompeii. You might prefer it though - I always imagined it must better than the real thing

Go to Pompeii quite early as it gets busy. Wear comfy sturdy footwear and don't forget your suncream.

I think you should do a taste test of gelato/ice creams and report back through the week.
