Currently, I am on holiday.

This is just to let you know I am currently in Sorrento, drinking wine as the sun sets. Today I spent a full day at the museum in Naples (with a long lunch break) and tomorrow I am going to Pompeii.

Tonight's supper will be in one of the many little restaurants along the nearest street and will be accompanied by more wine.

I need to relax as much as possible as next week I am back teaching for my favourite term where kids do lots of exams and we get all the good school trips.

My holiday lasts a full week and I flew, with DH, from Edinburgh yesterday. The flight was great but the airport was very busy and we were too cheap to pay extra so had to sit apart.

The rest of the week is not fully planned but any suggestions welcome.

What film are you watching on your way to Tokyo?

I suggested a not world tour to DD over Easter. Today we had pain au chocolate for breakfast and are having coq au vin for dinner. (Aside to say spell check offered cow and bin as alternatives). We just haven't got around to the virtual tours of the Louvre & the Eiffel Tower.

Tomorrow we are not going to Italy.

I’m in Southend. We walked the length of the beach, walked down the pier and took the train back. We had coffee and hot donuts and scrunched our toes in the sand. We’re going to an amazing Chinese place for dinner then a nightcap in the lovely hotel facing the sea.

I should be best woman at my best friends wedding. The reception would be in full swing by now and they'd be announcing their pregnancy during the speeches. Which I'd be sworn to secrecy about. We'd all be dancing and catching up.

I'm on a tres lux all-inclusive babymoon in the Maldives just had a swim straight off our balcony into the clear sea and now I'm off for a massage....

Reality - I'm watching DH play video games in his pants

I play the 'what would I be doing today if not for coronavirus' game quite often, but today is actually a day where it would make less difference than normal - today would be the first day of DH's Easter holiday (he's a teacher) and we normally flop around the house for the first day of his holidays!

I should be planning my wardrobe for a week in Cornwall later in April. Godrevy seals = hiking trews and walking boots (decent waterproof jacket too). St Ives Tate, Hepworth garden = floaty dress, flat ankle boots, cable sweater.

Supper at that orange pub. What's it called. Gunards Head. Jeans, shirt, that cable sweater. With chat about the origin of the erratics scattered on high points locally.
Etc. Sigh.

I'm loading up the car and we're driving to a caravan park in the Isle of Wight.

I'll spend the day tomorrow in the sunshine with 🍷 and listening to the 🌊 at the seaside. And my kids will be running around playing in the sand.

I was hoping to watch some films on the plane that My husband wouldn’t be interested in haha - maybe the new lady and the tramp film :)

I love long haul flights - 12 hours too just relax and watch whatever you like and have someone bring you food and drinks :) hahah

We should be packing now to go to Manchester tomorrow to fly and join you in Sorrento. It is my bucket list holiday and although I know there are worse.things to be upset at, I'm still gutted we.cant go

We're travelling to Holland tomorrow to efteling theme park. Flight is early followed by multiple public transport and it will be 3 intense days before coming back by even more public transport and ferry, then train. It is DC's Xmas present and they'll love it (personally as a lone parent a part of me is grateful for the refunds )

I should be spending my first night of a two week tour of Japan in Kyoto having met up with some old friends who live in Singapore (joint holiday). Sigh.

At the risk of being An Insufferably Smug Fucker, I've just realised that I'm exactly where I want to be. Sitting on the sofa in my kitchen looking at my sunny garden. Swapping a vile (X)H for the DDog I was never allowed has made the crucial difference.
Though there's a Gelateria in the main street in Sorrento that does lemon sorbet to die for.
OP have one for me while you're there.

I should be —extremely stressed— packing and getting everything ready for our first family holiday next week. I am quite upset about it but realise things could be worse

I am not in Sorrento yet, but in two weeks' time I will be, and doing the Pompeii thing and all the rest if it hadn't been cancelled Are you going on the cable car on Mount Faito? Or walking the Path of the Gods?

I should be enjoying the first day of a 2 week break from work. Plan was to stay at gorgeous cliff top Cornish hotel for the Easter weekend we go most years. DS agreed to go and revise from the hotel as had his GCSEs. Instead, just putting the dinner on and wondering whether to have a Gin or not. It really could be worse.

@Cismyfatarse would also recommend the ferry across to Capri tis a lovely place to while away a couple of hours, please much your way through as much gelato as possible, I can taste it from here.

I'm in Mexico. Feeling tired as we've been travelling all day from Gatwick this morning.

It's very warm. We're going for a meal and a cocktail shortly but will probably be having an early night as we're so tired.

Looking forward to a day by the pool tomorrow and wearing one of my new bikinis I've bought. Two weeks of bliss before the summer term kicks in.
