Currently, I am on holiday.

This is just to let you know I am currently in Sorrento, drinking wine as the sun sets. Today I spent a full day at the museum in Naples (with a long lunch break) and tomorrow I am going to Pompeii.

Tonight's supper will be in one of the many little restaurants along the nearest street and will be accompanied by more wine.

I need to relax as much as possible as next week I am back teaching for my favourite term where kids do lots of exams and we get all the good school trips.

My holiday lasts a full week and I flew, with DH, from Edinburgh yesterday. The flight was great but the airport was very busy and we were too cheap to pay extra so had to sit apart.

The rest of the week is not fully planned but any suggestions welcome.

We’re all packed and ready for our skiing/ snowboarding holiday to Whistler on Wednesday (DS’s first snowboard holiday).

In reality many £££s worth of equipment is piled up in DH’s office and half of DS’s kit won’t fit him by the time we’re allowed to use it again 😢

I'm off to Sydney tomorrow. Spending 3 weeks with my sister. I might take a trip to Kiama and spend a couple of days in Woolingong, before returning to the little town where my sis lives and then spend the rest of the time mooching and drinking the finest red wine Australia can supply me with.

I really can’t wait for an actual holiday as soon as it safe to do so. I keep browsing online

I am in a smallish Tuscan town, in my study, taking a day off from the freelance grind to work on my novel. Later, I might wander into town and go for aperitivo at one of the small friendly bars, and people-watch for a bit.

I am actually in a smallish Tuscan town, in my study, completely unable to work on my novel because anything very emotional is too much for me right now, watching my bank balance like a hawk because the freelancing has dried up, wondering which of the small friendly bars will still be around when the restrictions lift.

I’m packing for our once in a lifetime trip to Florida. DS is getting his flight bag ready and DH is about to finish his final shift in work. We’re all so excited, we’ve got tickets to all the Disney and Universal theme parks. It’s taken us 2 years to save up and DH has done an absolute tonne of overtime to pay for it.

I am sitting in the sunshine with a lovely cup of tea and a shortbread biscuit, listening to birds chirping, and feeling a gentle breeze blowing.

Honestly, sometimes the back garden is lovely.

We are due to be flying out for DD to compete at the world championships. As it is a fantasy, obviously she is going to win, when in actual fact it is fierce competition.

I am falling out with dh setting up the new caravan in the highlands. Lamenting swapping our little pop top caravan for a giant 5 berth, especially when putting up the awning.
However the kids are away on their bikes, the air is fresh and we will go for a walk later. 🌻🏞️

We did this yesterday on family whatsapp group, we always have a walk to the village pub and lunch weekend before Easter.

I managed to fall out with my sister because I said I was having macaroni and garlic bread and she said I couldn't have that for a Sunday lunch. I can have what I want at my virtual Sunday lunch.

So I said she could watch the kids all afternoon and she left the group

Well, today I’m going whale watching. We’re spending the week in Iceland, hit a flat in Reykjavik harbour. Really excited, bern working hard to afford this trip to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. that was the plan until 3 weeks ago anyway gutted

Today we are poolside at the Cosmo in Vegas enjoying a private cabana drinking a Sorry, not Sorry. It's a nice, sunny day with a warm desert wind.

@Cismyfatarse, I have 4 pieces of lave from Vesuvius which my Grandad bought back after the 2nd World War. I would so love to to go and visit and see where they came from, I hope you manage to get there.

I live in Cornwall so we were going to have an 'ourgate' holiday as DH has to work over half term. I am so missing getting out and about with the kids on the bus and having DH come and meet us after work.

I am just starting a world tour, first stop Mexico and then train travel across to neighbouring countries. I am finally going to live freely, without responsibilities and embrace change. Big birthday year and am trying to ignore the bells of doom approaching 40! So I am putting my best foot forward and enjoying some excellent Mexican food!

I do know someone who is in real life, in Patagonia hiking and doing yoga! No clue when how or why, but she doesn’t live there.

As for me I’m doing exactly what I’d be doing if we weren’t in this situation.

Well I cant complain really. We had a long awaited holiday in Bali in December, and the day before we flew out we bought a house with a pool. I'm in Australia so this isn't quite as exotic as it sounds! Its 32 degrees today so I'm just about to get in the pool with my book. Cocktails later. If it wasn't for the whole pandemic thing Id be quite content, although I would love to go back to Italy. We were meant to go to Hamelin Bay in Margaret River this weekend to paddle with the sting rays, but they will still be there when this is over.

So, on our week in Iceland, we are off to The Blue Lagoon today. Lovely flat on Reykjavik harbour.

Sadly, today is our last day. Ideas for making it special?
