So lucky to have this behind our house, to think that I usually take it for granted. Not any more...

That's a beautiful woodland track.

Hello everyone and welcome to anyone new. I have been having a lovely day. I've done some sunbathing. I did struggle to breathe a bit but that was just because I had my mutt plonked on my lap. She is pretty heavy! I have also been out digging over the garden and hoeing. I've planted cucumbers and courgettes, runner beans, more sweet peas, sunflowers and calendula. I only have a small area to grow things but I am so so grateful for that right now. I keep telling myself when it comes to start harvesting things, everything will be different.

I have just been eating a mango for my lunch and have a nice cup of coffee to enjoy. Loving all the food posts here.

If you haven't done already, can I recommend you dig out some suncream and inhale it? I don't know about you but it brings back so many happy memories for me. It changed my mood when I found some the other day and I've since been sniffing it daily Blush Grin

I have lost hours watching the animals on the Explore.org live cams.

At the moment there are eagle chicks hatching in Iowa, they keep zooming in and you can see this wee beak poking out from the shell. Amazing.

And the lab puppies are just too cute.

Bunnyflop · 05/04/2020 15:37

What a lovely day in the garden @Noooblerooble !!

Spudlet · 05/04/2020 16:07

Hello all. I did my 7k run and I’m a bit proud of myself. Raised £150 for the National Autistic Society in the process, which is really touching - that my friends and family still sponsored me, with all that’s going on in the world. Makes me quite emotional.

Had a wobble after looking at the news but then I’ve reminded myself that everything is ok now, and have been into the garden. I’ve planted potatoes, broccoli and perpetual spinach beets. And we have pizza for dinner.

Keep on keeping on, everyone.

ScarlettDarling · 05/04/2020 16:38

Good news from Italy, the number of cases in intensive care has declined for the first time since the start of the epidemic. Also the reproductive number of the virus there has finally reached 0. Once it goes below 0 the epidemic is on its way out. I’ve attached a screenshot taken from Worldometer website.

Millie2013 · 05/04/2020 16:42

@Spudlet fantastic, well done you 🌸
Scarlette, that’s good news, a teeny chink of light

MonaLisaDoesntSmile · 05/04/2020 16:43

Ventured out to the park today first time after more than two weeks in, can't say it was great (too many people) but I did also for the first time in ages put some nice makeup on I got before corona shitstorm that I didn't get to use and I was very excited about it :) Now off to have a long shower and enjoy my partner taking care of the toddler :)

ScarlettDarling · 05/04/2020 16:49

Hopefully this time the screenshot will attach!

Well done @spudlet and thank you @scalettdarling for the breathing technique.

30daysoflight · 05/04/2020 17:13

Hi ROUSSETTE
Sorry don't know how to use bold, we get along well but I have enough space to run away upstairs when DH is watching TV constantly. Missing family especially my DGS, we do facetime but want to hug him tight.
No pictures of baking from me everyone, I haven't got a clue but my bombay potato and tandoori chicken are fab.

Roussette · 05/04/2020 17:32

I love a good curry!

In a 'sod's law' moment.... my tooth topping an implant has dropped out. In all other times, it wouldn't matter, in that Iwould just pop to my dentist and he cements it back in.

But they're not working, no dentists are, they will do phone calls but no face to face. He's rung me and told me. So I now have a spike sticking out from my gum cutting my tongue to ribbons and this could go on for weeks.

Trying to look on the bright side. At least I don't have an abscess. Arghhhhhhhhhh

Why now I say to myself... you couldn't make it up!

Callybrid · 05/04/2020 17:54

Argh, Rousette, can you use that temporary filling stuff or will it not work for an implant? Hopefully your body will adjust and get used to avoiding the jaggy bits but that does sound like a pain.

Well done Spudlet! Star

Hugs to all those having a bad day. I have had a good day today after a few gloomy ones; feeling extraordinarily grateful for the garden and sunshine.

Roussette · 05/04/2020 18:05

Just looking on amazon, thanks Callybird

I hope it's something I will just get used to, but I have a feeling, not!

Spudlet · 05/04/2020 18:13

When we were on holiday my FiL had a dental disaster and we definitely managed to get some sort of cement (after a very long discussion with a nice Italian pharmacist and a bit of confusion because although I do speak Italian, it turns out the word for a dental crown is not the same as a 👑 😂). So you can get stuff to at least temporarily fix it, I think!

riotlady · 05/04/2020 19:24

@gingerbreadslice oooh let me know how it goes if you do try it!

@Whatsmyname26 omg need more hedgehog details (and preferably pics!) please! So cute

We were quite busy yesterday so have had a slower day today. Got the bubble machine out in the yard so DD was very happy with that. DH is making spaghetti Bol for tea

(Idk if I should be concerned that when I think about the good bits of each day food inevitably is a part of it!! XD)

Noooblerooble · 05/04/2020 19:47

Try some brace wax otherwise Rousette. Here brace wax I'm not 100% sure it would help but it used to stay on my braces for ages I think. That's going back a few years! So sorry you had that happen. These things can be such a pain when things are already difficult.

M0reGinPlease · 05/04/2020 19:50

I had a real wobble today chatting to my neighbour over the fence. She was saying how she works in local government and she knows this and that blah blah.

I came in on the verge of tears and then DH said to me 'she works in payroll for the local council, she is not an aide to Boris Johnson. Don't listen to her!' which made me feel better. I guess everyone like to think they know something you don't, don't they.

Arcadia · 05/04/2020 20:32

@M0reGinPlease don't let it get to you, I'm the same can think I'm completely fine then 'bam' someone says something and I'm back to panicking. However, I live 2 doors along from a lovely Dr on our local Coronavirus wards - he's always smiling and positive. Whilst he's smiling, I feel okay. (But don't get too close to him obvs!).

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 05/04/2020 20:49

Just after HM spoke this evening I heard the news, and one thing that I am sure I heard said (by Neil Nunes) was that there were a hundred fewer deaths in this country yesterday than there had been the day before.

This doesn't seem to be on the BBC news site, but it was on the R4 news just after eight this evening.

And I want more about the hedgehog, please!

Whatsmyname26 · 05/04/2020 21:19

@riotlady
She’s a Pygmy hedgehog, they originate from Africa and are bred as pets. She’s an adorable little huff ball. She loves evening cuddles 💕

Noooblerooble

Thank you! I've been hours looking for dental cement, out of stock everywhere, ebay, amazon, etc I suppose there's lots of ppl in the same boat as me.

However, I've managed to open an account on a dental suppliers website and ordered some so feeling a lot more cheerful now, looking forward to giving my tongue a rest, it's very sore.

If that doesn't work, I'm going for your stuff!

riotlady · 05/04/2020 22:00

@Whatsmyname26 omg so cute!
