Day 10 for me.
Sorry I have not been on very much.
I don't want to tempt fate, but I think I'm getting better.
The past 3 days I have got no worse at all.
I have got phlegm on my chest, still got bad acid reflux, burning between my shoulders, breathless when I talk and I'm very very wobbly but I have not changed symptoms over the last few days.

Porcupineinwaiting · 02/04/2020 11:21

Day 15 here. Another flare up (they are 1 day on, 1 day off at the moment) so burning skin, burning lungs and breathlessness but all slightly more bearable than before. Faint hope that I'm turning a corner maybe?

EMichel102 · 02/04/2020 11:24

@user34254356 How high is the temperature again? At least you’re slowly getting energy back which is what matters. I definitely have vertigo today though and feel slightly more phlegm-y but i felt overall worse a few days ago.

Spoke with a colleague today whose sister is a doctor in Germany. She’s also had it for three weeks now and having a very very slow recovery. They keep testing her as they want her back to work at the hospital but she’s still not 100% recovered.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 02/04/2020 11:27

Good to hear, Casino. Keep on recovering!

LizzyButton · 02/04/2020 11:29

I feel over it apart from the occasional cough. My guy is on day 19 I think (not because I can't count but because he was sucking on travel sweets a couple of days before the first real symptoms). His lungs have taken a hit in that his capacity seems down a bit and when we walk he feels a bit puffed after half an hour and he's not that type. He's also coughing more than me. I think the lung aspect can be persistent and I hope it clears.

BeverlyGoldberg · 02/04/2020 11:30

Checking in for day 6.

I had a rotten fever in the night. However sleeping on my front really helped my chest.

I've woken up with shivers, diarrhoea and stuffed nose but my chest feels lighter.

PrimalLass · 02/04/2020 11:32

@putastrawunderbaby

That's how I feel. Have had a mild cough that I thought was hayfever for at least two weeks. But the last few days I've had some flu-ey moments and the cough is a bit worse.

TheletterZ · 02/04/2020 11:36

I had a bath. Feels like a huge achievement.

Now lying down.

Breathing is getting better and coughing a lot less but I just feel exhausted. Really hope this is covid19, I don't want to go through something like this twice.

tupperwaretowers · 02/04/2020 11:38

@EMichel102 when you say still not recovered does this mean she still actively has the virus 3 weeks later or is it a matter of not being physically well enough to work as yet? I’m unclear on the 14 day isolation rule after the onset of symptoms and what happens next. Wishing her all the best. X

EMichel102 · 02/04/2020 11:44

@tupperwaretowers I think it’s still coming up positive but that doesn’t mean she’s actually contagious. They just don’t know 100%. Experts apparently think the test detects some secondary viral RNA that lingers but isn’t necessarily contagious and definitely not live. She’s also feeling unwell still too!

ofwarren · 02/04/2020 11:44

So good to see lots of us improving.
These posts are going to be a lifeline for those who come after us.

GidgetGirl · 02/04/2020 11:47

Right, possibly a bit of a stupid question here but I’m slightly anxious about it.

I’m on day 13ish and haven’t been feeling too bad for the last couple of days. Low-grade fevers seem to have died down, I’ve got my appetite back, and I’m only coughing a little bit.

Despite making my DP leave to go to his place when I started to feel poorly and realised what it was, it sounds like he might have caught it. It’s very mild for him so far - he had a slight fever about three days ago and has been feeling on and off slightly iffy but nothing too bad. Generally just feeling a bit more knackered than usual and a touch of nausea.

Anyway, he has to come back here later as his place has been sold (he had already moved out before lockdown). As I’m further down the line from him, how likely am I to get ill again by topping up my viral load from him? Or is that extremely unlikely because my immune system will be revved up against the virus? Trying to work out how much, if at all, we should self-isolate from each other when he’s here..

Standrewsschool · 02/04/2020 11:48

If anyone wants light relief, I watched Mallory Towers (on iplayer). Also Shakespeare and Hathaway.

alittleprivacy · 02/04/2020 11:50

Day 16 here. Breathing feels normalish, 90-95% normal. Chest and upper back pain was bad again when I woke up. I took some glucosamine a few hours ago as it's good for cartilage inflammation and it's easing a bit now. I'm just so utterly bored of it now. I want to just steadily improve instead of constantly feeling really close to normal and then backsliding after a day or two. I'm in my third week and while I have been sicker before, I had a bad flu in January that left me feeling rotten in bed for nearly a week. Once I started recovering, I just steadily recovered and was back to normal after another a week. This up and down bullshit is just leaving me so worn out and helpless as I feel like I can't trust what I'm feeling.

stayathomegardener · 02/04/2020 11:51

@littleblackdress04 yes I would say as the breathlessness and fluey stuff subsided around day 10 the lung burning and pain got worse.
It may have been that all the other fun stuff was just masking it at the worst points though. 🤷‍♀️

user34254356 · 02/04/2020 11:51

@EMichel102 thermometer doesn't agree as it's 36.6/36.7 but my face and arms / chest feel hot, eyes are burning and aches and pains in both arms and legs. It feels like how I was on Day 1. Like another poster said, i feel like i am starting the cycle again!

Is your appetite back? Mine is still not back which is again very frustrating

tupperwaretowers · 02/04/2020 11:54

@EMichel102 thanks for the info, it makes some sense. Every day she is a step closer to recovery. X

stayathomegardener · 02/04/2020 12:00

Thanks for the update casino218.

Porcupineinwaiting · 02/04/2020 12:02

@GidgetGirl to be safe you should self-isolate from each other as much as possible until he's passed day 7. Def dont share a bed and if you want to share a room make it a well ventilated one.

Porcupineinwaiting · 02/04/2020 12:03

@Casino218 thanks, I needed to here that. It feels endless.

Porcupineinwaiting · 02/04/2020 12:11

hear Hmm

tangledyarn · 02/04/2020 12:14

@user thanks..hope you are coping. It's really tough isn't it, I just want to cry today, am so frustrated with it all, it just seems like a long time to feel so unwell for. I know logically that if you've had a bad virus your not going to get back to normal quickly but I had hoped to be functioning a bit more normally by now as it's coming up to 4 weeks xx

Woofwoof50 · 02/04/2020 12:20

It does end. I am on day 20 now. Yesterday I slept for 14 hours on and off and felt much better and today it definitely feels as though the virus has receded. I’m still very tired but have a little bit of energy and breathing is nearly normal. My lungs still feel a bit strange. I hope it’s not another false recovery but it does feel different.
I am 53, unfit and overweight and an on off smoker ( never again though) and asthmatic. This illness has made me reevaluate how I take care of myself. I am very grateful to have got through it but is has been awful. Keep going and try to stay positive.

Spacecadetagain · 02/04/2020 12:20

@stayathomegardener oh yes we don’t want anymore trolls ! Agree we’ve probably all got it/had it

I had my worst night last night.. my chest hurt so much and it literally sounded and felt like my lungs were filling with fluid .. I managed to fall asleep watching IT crowd on Netflix .. Woke every hour on the dot and at seven this morning coughed and brought up some lovely brown phlegm but then my lungs felt a bit better . Managed another three hours sleep then got up but now I feel like I could just sleep and sleep and sleep ..

@RoobyMyrtle those all sound like symptoms yes, so if your husband can take over REST and DRINK WATER.

Like others, I’m struggling with this psychologically. We are used to knowing what we are dealing with, mostly.
Now I seem to be on the mend, am I still shedding? Because my eyes still keep feeling infected and my upper chest is still complaining. And if so what about my family? If they have had it without many symptoms, can they still be carrying and shedding? Oh such mystery. It has had my mind wandering all over the place. Past long-forgotten events. Imagining the reality of disease in history.
