Can anyone please recommend a decent Oximeter, I'd like to order one.

Gogoberry · 02/04/2020 08:08

I’m day 4. Supposed to be working from home but can’t get myself out of bed. I’m sleeping a lot of the time and when I’m not I feel wobbly. Finding it difficult to explain to work that I am too sick to work, even from home. I’ve honestly never felt this awful. Sad

Porcupineinwaiting · 02/04/2020 08:16

@Gogo love, you shouldn't be trying to work, you need to rest. Print off a self isolation note from the 111 website and go back to bed. You have a nasty bug and you'll only make your symptoms worse if you try and overdo it.

Porcupineinwaiting · 02/04/2020 08:19

@Sameold2020 mine was from Amazon. Box says Lovia pulse oximeter CMS50DL1. Cost about £20.

user34254356 · 02/04/2020 08:20

@GrapefruitsAreNotTheOnlyFruit i also want to know the answer to this as my fever has returned again and I am wondering if there are other reasons for this and it's not actually CV!

GrapefruitsAreNotTheOnlyFruit · 02/04/2020 08:32

@user34254356 Let me know if you find out the answer. I was wondering if it could be some sort of continued immune / inflammatory response. I get upset to think there could still be live virus after 21 days. My fever is lowish so 37.5 to 38 but extremely persistent. I have been taking antibiotics so I don't think it can be a secondary infection.

You were tested for covid weren't you? Certainly I have never been I'll for this long before.

tangledyarn · 02/04/2020 08:41

@user I've just checked my temp and its slightly high still which is ridiculous when I've been Ill for a month. I dont think I've got a secondary infection as I'm not coughing that much now, although my chest still hurts a lot and am still breathless and I just feel generally fluey and horrible.

user34254356 · 02/04/2020 08:42

@GrapefruitsAreNotTheOnlyFruit that is my other update that the lab mixed up results and actually I don't have Covid and have rhinovirus and adenovirus which seem to be common colds so unlikely to be causing me fever 16 days on! I am going to speak to my GP today. I have also been on antibiotics so it can't be that either. Will tell you what they say.

Sameold2020 · 02/04/2020 08:52

@Porcupineinwaiting thanks. It's not there anymore.

stayathomegardener · 02/04/2020 08:53

@littleblackdress04 I think I'm day 22.

Still getting face flushing and disturbed sleep but these were always my only signs of a temperature.

Lung burning and pains have gone but my chest still doesn't feel right.

Upper back pain, on off headaches and fatigue.

At least 50% better than I was last week but still doing very little as I'm not risking any relapse.

I have asthma, cfs and RA so not a good candidate for covid really.

Sambucus · 02/04/2020 08:53

@user34254356 @GrapefruitsAreNotTheOnlyFruit Please may I join the prolonged fever group? Day 17 here and also on antibiotics but still getting daily fever up to 38. It’s sooo miserable. Also never been unwell this long before. I just can’t understand why it should be, let us know if you get any enlightenment!

littleblackdress04 · 02/04/2020 08:55

@stayathomegardener hope you continue to feel better. I am still a bit jittery on day 9- not so breathless but more lung pain now- is that the progression you saw? Still feel wobbly despite feeling a bit better?

GrapefruitsAreNotTheOnlyFruit · 02/04/2020 08:55

@tangledyarn what is slightly high for you?

@user34254356 I can't wait for these antibody tests to come out. I cancelled the covid test that I ordered on the basis that I am too far in for it to be accurate.

tangledyarn · 02/04/2020 08:59

@grapefruitsarenottheonlyfruit 37.5. Am normally about 36 as hypothyroid. I knew it would take me ages to get better (asthma/cfs/hashimoto's etc) but I thought I might have made a bit more progress by now!

GrapefruitsAreNotTheOnlyFruit · 02/04/2020 08:59

@Sambucus of course. It is quite depressing really, the persistence of the thing.

Eaudeunaturale · 02/04/2020 09:02

@SchrodingersKitty thank you, gave him some calpol and stayed with him until he fell asleep, told him that sleeping is the best thing for illness, he looks slightly better this morning and has had some breakfast Smile

mumlurker · 02/04/2020 09:04

@Porcupineinwaiting @SchrodingersKitty

Thanks both for taking the time to respond last night. It's a strange comfort to know others are going through or have been through the same thing!

RoobyMyrtle · 02/04/2020 09:15

Hi everyone what do you think? Is this cv?

Swollen glands & sore throat, tiredness for 4 weeks
Slight breathing problems & heart pain for a few days about a week ago
Sore eyes for 7 days (this could be my usual chronic illness but is worse than usual)
Stomach pain and diarrhoea starting today (feels periody but I'm taking hrt and not due for a week)
Temperature is fine, occasional cough.

It's my daughter's birthday today and dh thinks I should just get on with wrapping presents and baking the cake.

KayakingOnDown · 02/04/2020 09:21

Day 16. Symptoms mostly all gone. But feeling fatigued.

user34254356 · 02/04/2020 09:22

@Tangledyarn sorry to hear that you are still struggling with temperature as well. I find the fever more debilitating than the chest pains as it also brings along aches and pains and a brain fog for me. I was better able to be "myself" few days ago when there was no fever and only the palpitations. So frustrated

Standrewsschool · 02/04/2020 09:24

@putastrawunderbaby - you asked if people have been mildly ill. Even though I’m in week 3, I don’t feel I’ve been really poorly.more washed out and brain fog. I have slept a lot, been lethargic but haven’t felt really really poorly. I can imagine it’s what ME sufferers feel like.

user34254356 · 02/04/2020 09:26

@Grapefruitsarenottheonlyfruit - why do you think if you are further along that the covid test would not be accurate? I was Day 7-8 then when I could the test, so wondering if that may be the reason.

Can't wait for antigen test too but first i want to recover!!

Standrewsschool · 02/04/2020 09:27

This is the oximeter I ordered, direct from manufacture. The argos write up is quite good for it.

oximeter

argos write-up

It’s only £19.99 plus £2.95 delivery.

user34254356 · 02/04/2020 09:27

@RoobyMyrtle your symptoms sound consistent with what others have been posting ie some don't have cough or fever but aches and chest pains.

Standrewsschool · 02/04/2020 09:29

@tangledyarn - for two days I had normal temperature. Now it’s crept up to 38 again. I can’t believe it’s going on for so long either. (D19).
