Just that really. Noticed on the update that they referenced how China lowered the curve & slowed down the rate of infections & deaths... but I don’t think I’m buying it Confused. What do you think?

Hasn't this been clearly understood by most of us for some weeks now? WHO or not, they could only see what was produced for them to see. I dread to think of the real numbers and how it was all kept quiet.

mochajoes · 01/04/2020 11:10

* Was the WHO wrong? I find this idea that they are always right questionable.*

That was kind of my point, they were wrong & Taiwan (who have a awkward relationship with WHO) made their own decisions.

MarshaBradyo · 01/04/2020 11:17

Mocha yes I posted awkwardly. I meant to say I agree with you but see a theme on here that they are always right.

BovaryX · 01/04/2020 11:20

Marsha
I love 'Airedale globally!' Made me laugh!

MarshaBradyo · 01/04/2020 11:22

Ha Bovary it was v random!

BovaryX · 01/04/2020 11:24

But it's somehow brilliant! I have this vision of a fleet of airborne Airedales, noses aloft, determined to circumnavigate the globe....

mochajoes · 01/04/2020 11:27

no worries Marsha

MarshaBradyo · 01/04/2020 12:54

Definitely way cuter!

PierreBezukov · 01/04/2020 13:07

The Chinese government obviously does not value the lives and freedom of their people, and things have only got worse under the current leadership btw.

Also, you can criticise the British response without praising China. Why does this simple idea escape so many?

This.

SabineSchmetterling · 01/04/2020 13:12

My point wasn’t necessarily that the Chinese were right and we were wrong. It’s that I found it interesting that the very same people who argued that China was not draconian enough with its own citizens believe that our measures are too draconian. I just think you should either be in favour of certain measures or against them. Not in favour of them in China but against them in the UK.

@CaveMum Please tell the people on my estate in Korea that they are a compliant population because they don't seem to have got the memo.

The idea that Koreans are compliant at all is laughable, you must have got them mixed up with some other country. They might be group thinkers but compliance is not what I'd call ignoring government instructions to stay indoors, avoid churches and meet ups.

Why do people think all Asians are quiet and compliant? It's so racist.
