@longshot started a new thread as the other filled up and I thought you were poorly and people would be wanting to find out how you were doing.

@TheDrsWife46 you are ok it's anxiety and tiredness. Have you tried gaviscon? I'm taking some now. Can you put some calm music on and climb into bed or somewhere you are used to relaxing?

I lost my smell on Tuesday. Should I be watching this Tuesday coming to see if anything happens!

stayathomegardener · 29/03/2020 20:00

Snap @Casino218 🤷‍♀️

SchrodingersKitty · 29/03/2020 20:01

@TheDrsWife46: if I were you I’d reverse sleep and wake times. Tell yourself you are not even going to try and sleep at night. Just do relaxing things with lights on - bath/shower, hot drinks, tv, strolls around garden, puzzles on devices or jigsaw puzzles, audio books, knitting if you do it. Anything distracting. Then sleep during the day when you are less inclined to panic. Your trigger seems to be the dark as well as the dip in symptom in the evening.

tangledyarn · 29/03/2020 20:02

@thedrswife46 Can you say what is making you so frightened? Maybe try writing it down, it's not nice to feel unwell but you will be fine, it will just take time to feel better. Can you watch tele in bed, or play a game on your phone, we usually find that when we focus on our symptoms they get bigger, can you get some ice from to squeeze to distract you or get someone to talk to you about something other than your symptoms?

SchrodingersKitty · 29/03/2020 20:02

@Casino218: I agree about the antibiotics. Mine have not cured it by they definitely relieved the worst of the lower lung pain.

TheDrsWife46 · 29/03/2020 20:03

Shit just lost a whole message

confusednortherner · 29/03/2020 20:03

@Rewy I've had pain in back and round side of ribs now for a week, thought it was a chest infection but not so sure anymore....

Casino218 · 29/03/2020 20:04

Have people been getting antibiotics from their gp? Or some other way?

OP posts:
TheDrsWife46 · 29/03/2020 20:05

@Casino218
@tangledyarn

Is not like anxiety, my body is crawling with it. I want to rip my own skin off, panting, hot, shaking, its convulsive and absorbing.

Because ive had such a settled day its like starting from scratch. I know im relying on this thread too much but I cant get through the sensations.

TheDrsWife46 · 29/03/2020 20:07

Why is night time worse? Ive been so happy and comfortable. As much as my lungs would allow and then waves of heat came over me. Legs started to shake, threw all the covers off.

I cant see an end. The more it drags on and on. Happening again and again, i cant see a way out. If i could access medicine i’d beg to be knocked out

SchrodingersKitty · 29/03/2020 20:07

@Casino218 From GPin my case. She said they were seeing cases with secondary bacterial infections - which I am prone to with all viruses - but was also in case it was something else. Can you ask to speak to a different gp if yours is generally a non-prescriber?

TheDrsWife46 · 29/03/2020 20:07

I know it sounds like anxiety but its the chills/fever/waves/burning heat of my skin the sensations are unbearable to me

Casino218 · 29/03/2020 20:09

It's such a small practice there are only two of them so not easy. Oh gawd I hate having to try and steer through this.

OP posts:
tangledyarn · 29/03/2020 20:10

@thedrswife46 I'm not saying the symptoms are anxiety but if you are feeling distressed by them focusing away from them will still really help..honestly I've been there. What's your temperature? Can you try some cold drinks, cold flannels if that's making you feel unwell x

TheDrsWife46 · 29/03/2020 20:14

Thank you for talking me thro.

Dh is rubbing my legs to mask the shakes
Drinkinh cold squash
Cant take more tablets til 9pm
Temp is 37.3, bpm is 102 oximeter 97

TheWooisStrong · 29/03/2020 20:15

Day 18. Feeling a bit more yucky but it’s definitely been the best day for a while. I’ve got a lot of crochet done and not much else.
Home school plans for tomorrow but keeping it easy so we’ll be making a cake from a mix I have, husband is planning a lunchtime walk round the estate with the children so I’ll get a mid day break, and one of us needs to go to the shop as we are very low on fresh stuff. Might leave it another day just in case.
Still got a dry cough, funny taste in mouth, various aches, and low energy/brain fuzz.

tangledyarn · 29/03/2020 20:17

@casino218 I'm not taking any antibiotics either..to be honest I dont feel like they will help me, it doesnt feel bacterial or like a normal chest infection, I'm not even coughing that much now, just very sob and have a lot of burning/pain/feeling generally unwell..but maybe I'm wrong! They initially offered me steroids (am asthmatic) but then retracted it when they thought I had CV xx

kevintheorangecarrot · 29/03/2020 20:18

@Casino218 I have been prescribed amoxicillin 500mg from GP just incase it is an infection. I don't think it is though.

Those who experienced shortness of breath: are you still able to take a deep yawn or breath? I can do it SOMETIMES. When I do, I am relieved for a min then the shortness comes back again. Is this still part of this awful virus? I wish it would fuck off. Sad

Bornlazy · 29/03/2020 20:20

Casino218 I got my antibiotics from 111 as I had pain in my lung when taking a deep breath. I think they sent the prescription direct to my local pharmacist. To be honest they haven’t really made much difference to me but they are certainly worth a try.

TheDrsWife46 · 29/03/2020 20:20

How many days are you in now @tangledyarn and @kevintheorangecarrot

tangledyarn · 29/03/2020 20:22

@thedrswife46 22. I hope you feel a little bit better soon x

Casino218 · 29/03/2020 20:22

No I think you're right. I'm not short of breath, coughing anything up or have a temp. But I think I'm just getting worried that the chest pains are still there. I think I've got rid of them and then wham they are back! No condition I've had has ever made me this anxious. ( Except pre eclampsia in delivery)

kevintheorangecarrot · 29/03/2020 20:23

@TheDrsWife46 11th day so far

tangledyarn · 29/03/2020 20:25

@casino218 Totally understand and its totally reasonable to ask for a chat again if you want to...you never know they might help. I agree nothing else has ever made me feel as anxious either..there were some really dark days in the middle..but I do feel a bit more chilled about it now xxx
