@longshot started a new thread as the other filled up and I thought you were poorly and people would be wanting to find out how you were doing.

Oh great news Casino!

IpanemaGallina · 28/03/2020 17:30

@Casino218 that’s great to hear and thank you for being so kind to me on the last thread.

isitorisntit · 28/03/2020 17:33

Hi again, so after 48 hours of penicillin, yesterday I felt so much better. Worked with the kids all day, made 2 meals, cleaned the bathroom... This morning I woke up feelimg terrible again. Headache, neck ache and heavy, tight chest and a feeling of a lack of energy.

I've moved from bed to sofa to bath.

The GP who I spoke to (who said my symptoms fit known and emerging symptoms) said expect the cough to last at least a month.

isitorisntit · 28/03/2020 17:34

Day 15 btw

Joeaj23 · 28/03/2020 17:34

My first proper bout of shortness of breath is emerging.. How delightful..

Very interesting article here by a Cambridge virologist - www.cambridgeindependent.co.uk/news/cambridge-virologist-explains-what-we-know-and-dont-know-about-covid-19-9104220/

longshot · 28/03/2020 17:41

Good news @ Casino!

Similar positive news here, I am on day 18. I am nowhere near better but I do feel I am starting to recover...

Today I have forced myself to do very little, got up at 7am (not a great night of sleep), played a little with DCs, ate breakfast, showered etc, sat quietly reading for a bit, had a phone call, folded washing. That was all. After lunch i went back to bed for an hour, i didn't sleep but rested. I felt really quite bad from 2.30-4pm but it passed. During that time I felt lightheaded, exhausted and drained plus my heart was racing a bit. From 4pm I felt slightly better, have still sat doing very little and if I do this I feel moderately OK. My chest is still sore but breathing is fine. I think basically I just have to rest when my body feels 'weird and horrible' and it will pass. Now I feel OK, like myself but with chest pains and still tired but able to chat and be present just not tidy up and cook as I would usually.

Basically to all those at earlier points...there is hope. It does start to ease off and at some points over the last week I have really felt on deaths door. Now I feel drained but like I am beating it. Just really hope it continues as I know this feeling can come and go!

Littleninja1 · 28/03/2020 17:46

Day 16. Managed to shower and WASH MY HAIR celebratory dance then felt totally drained and out of breath while drying it. Had to sit on the floor and my husband carried me to bed. As ever, I'm glad it's this way round because me lifting him is not going to happen Grin

Chest pain, back pain and general aches and pains are back. Throat is sore today. Eyes very itchy.

Sorry to see so many of you struggling today. It's a cruel menace this virus.

@longshot so pleased you are ok after that episode. I also feel worse if not eating and normally eat constantly throughput the day, I'm a proper grazer. I've noticed that I forget to eat because I don't feel hungry some days and that makes my symptoms worse.

Wacadu · 28/03/2020 17:47

@dreamm I phoned 111 last night and went to a corona hub this morning. I'm only on day 4 but my breathing worsened.

Casino218 · 28/03/2020 17:52

Where r these corona hubs and how do u find out about them?

I'm confused … not difficult for me right now.

I believe Boris and the Government Head Scientist are self isolating for just 7 days. And I just watched Matt Hancock being interviewed and he said he would be back at work next Thursday. These people have actually had the test so they know for sure they have it. Surely 7 days is not long enough? I certainly would not want to be in the same room as them if I hadn't had it Shock

Casino218 · 28/03/2020 18:00

@notangelinajolie the guidance is 7 days if you have symptoms, 14 if you don't.

Porcupineinwaiting · 28/03/2020 18:01

Let's just say when the first cases were put in isolation, they had to have 2 negative tests before they were let out again. So hopefully our dear leaders will be doing likewise.

They are also ever so confident that they will be fit to work in 7 days. Whereas this thread shows that even mild cases can drag on.

Sambucus · 28/03/2020 18:04

@EMichel102 yes I’m still getting a raised temperature. Also day 12 and 37.7 today. Starts off nearly normal each morning and creeps up by lunchtime. It feels like it’s never ending but I take comfort from hearing others describe similar symptoms. So much for being able to stop self isolating after 7 days! Hope you’ll be better soon.

findingschools4myboys · 28/03/2020 18:07

@longshot
Hello!
Mine is practically gone. I didn’t cough a lot though, probably 40-50 times per day at the height of my symptoms. And I had a mix between dry cough and coughing up phlegm. I am still occasionally coughing up phlegm!
Am so much better today though. Have actually been able to help out with my 4 kids all day! Feel like a different person compared to even just 2 days ago.

Porcupineinwaiting · 28/03/2020 18:09

@findingschools4myboys excellent news! Roughly how many days were you sick if you dont mind me asking?

Mummyoflittledragon · 28/03/2020 18:15

Gidget
Thanks for posting that article. Very interesting. This would back up why self isolating is only for 7 days.

For anyone, who is interested, I would recommend NAC. It is an antioxidant used in hospitals and works both for mood disorders / anxiety and for respiratory illnesses. Just google NAC.

If your cough persists for some time, gets progressively worse and you feel very ill still, speak to your Gp. Perhaps it has become a bacterial infection as mine did. I’m day 5 of antibiotics and it is night and day. I also realised I’m suffering from hay fever. I started antihistamines today to reduce those symptoms, which were being mixed up with my viral / bacterial issues.

ItsAStruggleRightNow · 28/03/2020 18:16

@Aurea thank you for asking. I had a fever in the night which broke this morning. The aches have gone but I'm still short of breath and feel odd?

EMichel102 · 28/03/2020 18:20

@longshot you give me hope! That’s wonderful progress.

@Sambucus thanks for sharing - I’m hoping it’ll die down in the next day or two...fingers crossed! I read somewhere that fever typical goes by day 12. Yeah right!

Spacecadetagain · 28/03/2020 18:21

Pleased to hear that some people have had better days today .. 😄
My breathing has actually been ok today .. just a bit breathless going up and down the stairs but my god the rib pain is horrific and my lungs are still gratey .. this feels more like the pluerisy I had after I had pnuemonia

everythingisginandroses · 28/03/2020 18:21

Day 12. Sore lungs today, but was minding my own business and watching Catfish when I freaked the fuck out this afternoon and rang an ambulance after coughing up a few drops of blood. Paramedics came out and checked me over, vital signs all ok, advised me to keep resting, stay hydrated. I howled after they left as I felt so guilty about wasting their time. DH, DS and DSIL (via Skype) have been very nice about it, but I still feel like a total fucking plank Sad Blush

findingschools4myboys · 28/03/2020 18:25

@Porcupineinwaitingm
I am on Day 18. Started off witH mild symptoms, then felt tad better then got much worse before finally yesterday starting to properly pick up.
The chest tightness and breathlessness left me last weekend but I was left with severe vertigo. Wasn’t able to taste and smell from last weekend but can now taste things ever so slightly since 2 days ago.

dreamm · 28/03/2020 18:30

@everythingisginandroses Flowers That sounds scary. Don't feel guilty. We're all trying to ge through this and it's scary as hell having all these symptoms and not knowing what going on, what they all mean and how bad they're going to get. Coupled with worrying about if we're going to be able access medical care should we need it. It's pretty terrifying.

Casino218 · 28/03/2020 18:42

@everythingandroses you should absolutely not feel guilty about that coughing up blood in normal times and they would have taken you to A and E ( and I'm a nurse)
