@longshot started a new thread as the other filled up and I thought you were poorly and people would be wanting to find out how you were doing.

OP posts:
ofwarren · 28/03/2020 15:59

Lovely, thankyou!

ofwarren · 28/03/2020 16:11

Feels like hot razor blades in my throat this afternoon.
Does this symptom wax and wane or does it stay? So uncomfortable

AnythingPecan · 28/03/2020 16:13

This illness is sooooo strange. Yesterday (day 10-12) I was pottering around house and feeling slightly back to normal (slight tightness in chest). Today - feeling breathless!

Does it get better? And what do you do to improve breathing in that moment? Any ideas?

user34254356 · 28/03/2020 16:13

@Cary2012 thanks and hope we all get there in the end. Are you back to full strength now?

@ofwarren i have had that yesterday - thankfully much better now. I took cough mixture as advised by my GP. However as the symptoms come and go who knows if it returns!

ofwarren · 28/03/2020 16:16

Did they specify any particular cough medicine @user34254356?

Needsomegoodnews · 28/03/2020 16:16

Argh! Breathing worse this afternoon (day 12)! I’ve been slightly short of breath all along but not too bad at rest. Now suddenly feel restricted but feels like upper airway is narrow if that makes sense. Still ok and can talk etc but surely breathing shouldn’t be worse at this point in all this?

@ofwarren sharp sore throat seems to be part of this too. Worried I’m worsening but had hoped I was past major risk Sad

ofwarren · 28/03/2020 16:19

That's the worry isn't it @needsomegoodnews
I would be much less anxious if it was just something you rode out. It's the uncertainty over the relapse thing.

tisonlymeagain · 28/03/2020 16:23

Apparently it's not recovery is not linear @Needsomegoodnews so you can feel you're getting better then get worse again, get better and worsen again

user34254356 · 28/03/2020 16:33

@ofwarren it's called Pholcodine 5mg solution. Available OTC

IpanemaGallina · 28/03/2020 16:44

@ddream yesterday, when I spoke to a gp over FaceTime, she said leave your room 5 days after your last symptom.

Incidentally, from the symptoms I described she confirmed covid straight away.

AnythingPecan · 28/03/2020 16:46

@needsomegoodnews - I think we're in the same stage of the virus and also in terms of our concerns too!

littleblackdress04 · 28/03/2020 16:48

I’ve not really been isolating because the bloody GP told me initially it couldn’t be CV because I had no temp or cough despite feeling dreadful & having shortness of breath. And this is with DS being in the shield group. This is why we need urgent testing! I’m likely to have passed it on the DS and my family as a result

ofwarren · 28/03/2020 16:56

@littleblackdress04
We are infectious before the symptoms show so you probably couldn't have done much anyway.
My son is in the shield group too. He did a few coughs yesterday and I'm so on edge!!

littleblackdress04 · 28/03/2020 17:00

@ofwarren it’s really stressful isn’t it! I have upped my sons seretide meds a bit to try and help 😬 I’ve had a weird relapse this afternoon- everything kind of jittery and shaky in waves in my body- so horrible esp after feeling pretty well yesterday- really hope DS hasn’t got it

EMichel102 · 28/03/2020 17:01

@AnythingPecan @Needsomegoodnews also on day 12 here and as long as I can talk just fine then I feel the breathlessness is ok. Otherwise I freak out from my pathetic ability to be out of bed not horizontal! I’m hoping we’re just a couple days away from feeling a bit better / more ourselves.

Do people sleep on the fronts? I saw the research suggests that might be good for The lungs but can’t imagine that’s comfortable?!

ofwarren · 28/03/2020 17:02

@littleblackdress04 those jittery shakes are just the worst. I think I would prefer pain.

dreamm · 28/03/2020 17:05

Thanks @IpanemaGallina

Have any of you phoned 111 because it's been over 7 days and not because your symptoms have got worse? I'm not sure I see the point in me calling them if I'm just showing the same symptoms but they're still bearable iyswim. I'll be 7 days tomorrow so, according to the website, I should be phoning if I still have symptoms. Not sure what they can do though??

I'm in Scotland and there's recently been COVID specific community medical centres set up for people who don't require hospital treatment but still need to see a medical professional about their symptoms. We're not supposed to call our GPs about any coronavirus related issues so this seems a good idea but not sure yet how well it will work in practice. And if there'll be enough for the demand and in the areas that need it.

littleblackdress04 · 28/03/2020 17:05

@ofwarren aren’t they! Where are you in your symptoms? I don’t really know what day I am on but was feeling loads better & chest eased, no cough etc and then was hit with those. I could be on day 5/7/10 depending on when I start counting!

user34254356 · 28/03/2020 17:06

managed to get resting heart rate to 100! but struggling to get down below as I keep checking. Need to really relax .....hope it's not too serious to have it at top limit for some period

Casino218 · 28/03/2020 17:07

Well it's day 19 and it's the first evening I've felt ok. I did have a nap this afternoon that definitely helps. No chest tightness and only very slight twinges.

OP posts:
ofwarren · 28/03/2020 17:10

@littleblackdress04 I'm on day 5 today I think. I had 2 days of those jitters, with nausea. Just dreadful.
My symptoms keep coming and going too. You feel a little bit better then it comes right back.
Me and my youngest are living upstairs at the moment and my shielded child is living downstairs with his dad. I have no idea how long this will have to be for.

ofwarren · 28/03/2020 17:10

Really good news @Casino218!!

mymoonmyman2020 · 28/03/2020 17:11

That’s great @Casino218! So nice to hear.

I felt better earlier and had a bath but was quite careful not to push it. Now I feel worse again chest-wise but still have a clear head which is nice...

I keep reassuring myself that mild symptoms (as mine are) are not suddenly going to change to v severe (hospitalisation), if no cough etc. Hope this is true!

stayathomegardener · 28/03/2020 17:13

@Casino218 that's fantastic!

EMichel102 · 28/03/2020 17:29

@Casino218 great news indeed!!

I’m still getting a mild fever on Day 12 (37.6 just now) - did others still have this at this stage? Head getting fuzzy / achy / sensitive again after a day if not needing paracetamol :(
