@longshot started a new thread as the other filled up and I thought you were poorly and people would be wanting to find out how you were doing.

@TheDrsWife46 as horrible as it is, that’s part of the virus sadly. Please do call 111 and maybe they can be reassuring. I was up in the night with the shakes / hot and cold flashes and it came out of nowhere. Now they’ve subsided this am but fatigued and upper back / chest is still burning and tight

user34254356 · 28/03/2020 10:38

@GidgetGirl I have had diarrhoea at a later stage on day 8 and then again yesterday on day 10. On day 10, i wonder if it was triggered by antibiotic that I just started.

emjomoo · 28/03/2020 10:38

Drswife46 sounds like a good plan to phone 111 they will be able to talk things through and advise what help you need - stay calm and all the best and I hope you feel better.

user34254356 · 28/03/2020 10:39

@anythingpecan me too! productive cough since yesterday though i haven't expelled any mucous today but can feel it at the back of my throat and need to clear it. Yesterday i got yellow mucous.

@longshot me too, did steaming today and going to try to do it a few times a day. I have blocked sinuses now so hoping it will help and just freshen me up if nothing else.

Wacadu · 28/03/2020 10:42

Phoned 111 last night due to increased breathlessness and chest pain. Ended up in corona hub this morning. They said it probably was but couldn't test unless I was admitted. I've to rest, drink plenty and continue with the paracetamol. Gave me an inhaler and spacer too.

tangledyarn · 28/03/2020 10:43

@user34254356 Ooh think you got me confused with someone else as am not particularly anxious and getting better now Flowers

ofwarren · 28/03/2020 10:45

@TheDrsWife46
I'm sorry you are feeling so bad.
When I was experiencing the manic shaking I did the thing where you tighten one muscle and then relax it thing.
You start at the top of your body and tighten your shoulders for 5 seconds then relax, then move on to your chest. Tighten it for 5 and then relax.
So it right down to your toes.

Following a breathing app helped too as I found that the shakes caused me to panic.

I hope it subsides soon. It's one of the most awful of the symptoms I found

ofwarren · 28/03/2020 10:46

Have you tried the inhaler @wacado?
Have you found it helpful?
What day are you on again?

GidgetGirl · 28/03/2020 10:48

@user34254356 That’s a bit reassuring. I was hoping diarrhea wasn’t exclusively an early-stage symptom because I’ve only just started having it properly and I feel like I’ve been ill for ages.

Casino218 · 28/03/2020 10:50

Don't be worried about shivering and shaking that's your body responding to the virus. Try to just think of it as a battle your body has to wage to get better. If you cannot complete daily activity like going upstairs, dressing etc because of extreme breathlessness then it's more of a problem.

longshot · 28/03/2020 10:51

@gidgetgirl yes I had it too right at the start and then from days 12-15 I think around then. Stopped again now.

MellowMelly · 28/03/2020 10:51

Hi, have been watching the thread.
The doctor thinks we have all had it in this household but my daughter has really suffered with it chest wise.
She is now on day 7 of chest pain and the Dr has been video calling us to monitor her symptoms. She’s been prescribed Clarithromycin and started those two days ago.

It all started with a terrible sore throat and she had the chills but no fever about three weeks ago. This lasted about two weeks and then she had a week where she felt sort of okay but not quite right. Not much of a cough at all throughout this time.

The symptoms returned with a vengeance about a week ago. Terrible aches and pains with lethargy and then she said her chest was hurting. No fever and again barely much of a cough. The chest pain got considerably worse quite quickly. She found it painful to move, breathe, sit up, lie down or talk and this was accompanied by feeling short of breath on and off and very red sore eyes. She’s been so tired with it that she’s been in bed by about 8pm every night. She was also woken up one night by, in her words, the ‘most disgusting taste in her mouth that I can’t get rid of’.
Today she says her chest feels slightly better but she has an overwhelmingly awful taste in her mouth.

I’m truly hoping she is on the mend now because it’s basically been a month of it. The doctor said she fits the timeline of some people that seem to have a relapse of it. They get better before they get worse again. I guess we won’t know for sure what it really was unless they decide to start testing people to see if they’ve had it.
Sorry for my long post Shock

Akania · 28/03/2020 10:52

We all had diarrhoea and tummy pain a few days before we got ill. Now we all have it ( started a thread early about my whole house being ill)

Casino218 · 28/03/2020 10:52

@moonbaby no absolutely. I guess some people are dealing with this by denial. He's probably just scared and can't say. Take care x

I cant get off the sofa. Waiting on a clinician

EMichel102 · 28/03/2020 10:53

My lung burning today (day 12) feels lower and more coming from my upper back/ more painful. Has anyone else experienced this? No coughs yet but a bit concerned about the change...

Akania · 28/03/2020 10:54

Also, from all of the symptoms everyone is showing they are all so similar in one way or another .

My DP is in denial as well. So much so I said to him the other day that he either realises what’s going on or I’m off to stay with my aunt .

SchrodingersKitty · 28/03/2020 10:55

Morning all! Finally conquered my chills last night with two hot water bottles, two duvets, a cardigan and a scarf! Feeling ok at the moment.

@longshot: hi day-18 buddy! Yes, my cough lessened quite a lot over the last few days. When I do cough it has been a bit phelgmy, but not the horrific gunk other people have reported.

EMichel102 · 28/03/2020 10:56

@TheDrsWife46 hang in there and phone 999 if you really struggle to breathe / it’s an emergency. It’ll be ok - very up and down!

Wacadu · 28/03/2020 10:56

Just tried it @ofwarren. Not so far. Making me cough more.

I'm on day 4.

ofwarren · 28/03/2020 10:57

Good luck DrsWife it will be ok Flowers

Doingitaloneandproud · 28/03/2020 10:58

Hi everyone,
Am I able to join in please? I've been unwell for the past 9 days, it started with a really bad sore throat and exhaustion but no fever. Diarrhoea but I just thought my IBS was playing up and my stomach was cramping, which it could have been. I've had a cough but with phlegm for the past 2 weeks, I've been luckily working from home, but found I've had to go back to bed most days as I'm shattered
This morning my son has had to go back to bed with a fever and sore eyes, no cough and no sore throat. I'm just not sure if we've got it/had it etc but I'm just worrying now about him. Other than calpol and rest should I do anything else?!

TheDrsWife46 · 28/03/2020 11:00

Please stay on here with me. I KNOW that its part of it. I just cant cope with it. Im ready to take a valium and i need to know if thats dangerous or not. I have never felt more desperate in my life

Sambucus · 28/03/2020 11:01

@GidgetGirl. Diarrhoea started around day 3/4 and I still have it now (day12). But it has been mild throughout, some days worse than others. More debilitating has been the continuous up and down fever, racing pulse/ anxiety, and cough. Oh and solitary confinement in the bedroom! I take comfort from knowing that others on here have had symptoms for a long time and got better. Hope you’ll feel better soon too.

Sadsammy · 28/03/2020 11:01

@tangledyarn thanks so much. Wishing you a good recovery xx
