@longshot started a new thread as the other filled up and I thought you were poorly and people would be wanting to find out how you were doing.

As I understand it mild includes anything short of actual pneumonia (so may not necessarily feel v mild to the sufferer), moderate is when you get a mild pneumonia that can be treated at home and severe is when either temperature or pneumonia too severe to be treated at home and you need medical intervention.

EMichel102 · 28/03/2020 09:07

@user34254356 that’s reassuring - sounds like we’re likely safe but it’s still very unpleasant! I don’t think I have much of an actual fever (I check my temp regularly) but I FEEL like I have a fever on off with chills / headache. The hardest thing for me is the exhaustion - gets debilitating at times as I’m not a great sleeper during this illness.

TheDrsWife46 · 28/03/2020 09:07

@Cary2012 thankyou for your reassuring post. You speak such sense. If found it difficult to steer clear of news or timelines so I only allowed myself to watch Covid experiences on youtube and 99% of them are so positive, you can tell they going to be fine when its a young person looking chipper and no clickbait title. Whilst I feel like shit, its all consuming, ive deffo been floored by flu much more than this virus. Its that uncertainty whether you’re going to dip that fuels it, I can see why everyone is asking “am i about to drop?”

Daytime is far less scary. Night times are longgggg, lonely and bleak. Having messages all night meant everything to me.

What I have taken heart is that whilst everyone is describing this akin to war, war is about conflict. Despite being isolated and lonely, I am in awe of the way in which we are all together as one planet right now. United in our fragility as humans.

KayakingOnDown · 28/03/2020 09:13

Morning. Day 12.

Breathing is definitely easier. Chest pain there but not as sharp. Wiped out though.

Springquartet · 28/03/2020 09:19

Hello, Can I join you? I have dipped in an out of this thread, but only had the energy today to contribute. My symptoms were as follows:

Just before my symptoms started I felt tired and headachey my nose was inflamed inside and kept bleeding.

Day 1 tired, headache

Days 2-4 tired

Day 5 felt that I had a cold coming

Day 6 - 8 struggled to eat, slept, felt that I couldn't concentrate on any thing

Day 9 developed a cough that seems to come from my throat that starts if I try to move. It sounds as if I am choking and results in lots of clear mucous.

Days 10 -13 Cough has continued. If I stand up I feel that I am going to collapse, because the cough starts and I feel so weak. If I sit still, there is no cough.

Day 14 Appetite coming back but I am afraid to sleep at night and end up sitting up.

For those of you who are on the road to recovery, has your cough gone or have you found anything to relieve it?

Casino218 · 28/03/2020 09:22

@Springquartet cough disappeared maybe about day 14/15 - it will probably just take its course. There isn't much that truly works for coughs.

@kayakingondown great news! Yes completely wiped out too here. And I’m so bored of resting too!

KayakingOnDown · 28/03/2020 09:30

Yes Emichel I'm tentatively feeling optimistic. I have had ups and downs but I'm holding a corner has now been turned. Yes, fed up of having no energy and resting. Able to read a novel today though - couldn't have done that a few days ago.

Moonbaby321 · 28/03/2020 09:39

DH said to me this morning he doesn't think I have the virus at all because I don't have a temp or a persistent cough. I said if he felt like I did he wouldn't say that. He says he thinks I have just worked myself up into having a meltdown. Hmm I feel like something is stood in my chest on my right lung and it's burning.
He is having to do everything for work, our house and his DP house and I feel for him completely but I am also more than a bit fucked off that he doesn't believe me and believes the narrative that they are putting out there that unless there is a persistent cough and a temp there is no virus. Even the GP said when I spoke to him the other day about the diarrhoea, burning and breathing problems that these were symptoms.
I feel so miserable

Casino218 · 28/03/2020 09:41

@Moonbaby321 well wait until he gets it op and you have come through it 😁

AnythingPecan · 28/03/2020 09:43

Day 11-13 here (depending on how I'm counting Hmm). Just had my first productive cough. What does that mean? Confused

Casino218 · 28/03/2020 09:49

@AnythingPecan what colour is the phlegm ( nurse here so used to asking that)

Sadsammy · 28/03/2020 09:51

It sounds dire but many of you are trying to be strong and positive. It's depressing how many partners could be more supportive. Have many of you had asthma and got it? I'm shielding as I think I'm on that list and worried about getting it and coping as I live alone. I feel rather lame worrying about something that hasn't happened yet. Hoping you all get on the mend soon. 😘

ofwarren · 28/03/2020 09:59

@Moonbaby321
But some people have the virus and have NO symptoms at all.
The lung issue you are having sound like the virus to me.
I've not had a temp but am coughing on and off.

tangledyarn · 28/03/2020 10:20

@sadsammy I'm coming through it and have quite bad asthma (and other health issues)..I'll be honest I've been quite unwell but am defo on the other side of it so try not to worry too much Xx

Moonbaby321 · 28/03/2020 10:22

@Casino218

My 74 year old Mum is in our house staying with us because we lost my Dad 5 weeks ago (not CV related) so I am scared of her catching it. I wouldn't wish this on anyone but I just said to him that I wish he knew how I was feeling then he wouldn't keep telling me I didn't have it. Nobody wants this disease. Nobody. But also nobody who has thankfully mild symptoms wants to be told it's all in their head either Sad

@ofwarren

Would you believe he just came in and took my temp which was 35. So therefore he says he is 100% convinced I don't have the virus because he says he's read all the studies Hmm and they all state temp must be present. I said my GP said otherwise and he also told me he had read all the studies and papers on this. Apparently the GP is wrong and I am just working myself up. He just made me some toast 'to build my strength up' even though I have zero appetite

longshot · 28/03/2020 10:25

Update here, chest hurts but other than that I feel ok ish today. It basically feels sore and tight across the top of my chest area (around boob and sternum level) but my breathing is ok. Anyone else have this?

I’m tired but not ridiculously so, resting now reading but have had breakfast and managed to play with the DCs a bit then felt weird so put the TV on but don’t feel terrible.

I know this afternoon I’ll be tired so will sleep. Trying to fight this thing with rest!

ofwarren · 28/03/2020 10:25

Just wait till he comes down with it moonbaby
He will change his tune then.

longshot · 28/03/2020 10:27

@ofwarren even if you don’t have it you are ill and need rest and looking after.

My DH has been amazing and now has it himself so I am worried currently if he gets worse (currently he’s not bad with it) I won’t be able to care for him but hoping that won’t happen! We know this thing takes time to build up so I’m hoping by his worst bit I’ll be more able to do stuff.

longshot · 28/03/2020 10:27

Oh and I did steam inhalation today and I think it helped a bit, felt nice anyway so will continue with that.

ofwarren · 28/03/2020 10:30

@longshot
That's my worry too. My husband has started coughing today and he's a smoker. I seem to be coping ok but it's not going to be fun being ill at the same time.
My middle child has a liver transplant too and has also started with a cough. His hospital said of he gets a temperature we have to ring an ambulance.

TheDrsWife46 · 28/03/2020 10:31

Please is anyone there? Im shaking uncontrollably. I feel sick. Its like ive been poisoned. No control over my body. Ive waited all week but im calling 111 because i cant cope. I just cant cope. Im frightened at how my body is responding. My kids deserve someone who can brave it better than this. I cant cope.

hernamewasrio · 28/03/2020 10:32

So according to The Guardian symptoms we have Coronavirus here. Pretty minor symptoms for us all - congestion, runny nose, no taste and tiredness. At least we’ll now be immune which is why we need tests. With immunity we could go back to work to help others.

What are the symptoms this coronavirus causes?
According to the WHO, the most common symptoms of Covid-19 are fever, tiredness and a dry cough. Some patients may also have a runny nose, sore throat, nasal congestion and aches and pains or diarrhoea. Some people report losing their sense of taste and/or smell. About 80% of people who get Covid-19 experience a mild case – about as serious as a regular cold – and recover without needing any special treatment.

GidgetGirl · 28/03/2020 10:35

Quick question - to all those who experienced diarrhea, at what stage of your illness did you get it?

user34254356 · 28/03/2020 10:37

@TheDrsWife46 please try to distract yourself, put on some tv and do some breathing exercises. I have had a panic attack this morning and so completely know where you are coming from.

There was a very detailed post by @Tangledyarn in the previous thread with ways to overcome anxiety and I have been trying to do some of those. It's not easy but hang in there.

And yes do call 111, i felt calmer after speaking to them.
