@longshot started a new thread as the other filled up and I thought you were poorly and people would be wanting to find out how you were doing.

Hello, all.

Sorry about the sleepless nights. Had another shivery night and it kept me awake late. Bastard thing.

In a hurry, just wanted to say - from someone with many years experience of anxiety & panic -

EFT or EMDR self applied is a godsend for me for insomnia. It shouldn't work, it's probably woo, I've never thought it made any sense. Doesn't seem to matter.

Vid here:

And hundreds more on youtube. It's fairly easy to learn, and free.

Worth a shot, at any rate. I identify what I'm anxious about and then tap on that. Usually I'm asleep after a couple of repetitions.

We can do it! We will be immune in a wee while! xxx

TheDrsWife
Have they told you how long it might be till you can talk to someone?
It is dreadful isn't it, really really horrible.
Id much rather have pain than the out of control shaking.

I know you have probably tried everything but I sometimes stood up and paced the room or stood and twisted continuously at the waist. It seemed to use up the adrenaline that courses through you.

lovemylot1 · 28/03/2020 11:05

Hi I’m just checking back in. Last time I posted was on the first thread.
I too have intermittent symptoms. For one stretch of Three days I had none at all but they came back. The recurring symptoms are only chest tightness, shortness of breath and chest pain.

I am on day 17.

longshot · 28/03/2020 11:05

@TheDrsWife46 - I felt like you yesterday, I was terrified. DH basically carried me to bed. Sat with me and comforted me for an hour and forced me to drink water, take paracetamol etc. It passed. I feel OK ish today. Keep breathing and thinking of nice things.

@MellowMelly how old is your daughter?

@SchrodingersKitty I was waiting for this day as someone some time ago said 'day 18 you feel better' i guess I do a bit but this chest ache is a bugger. Too scared to do anything and mess myself up again so sitting reading quietly!

blossombabies · 28/03/2020 11:05

@doctorswife we are here Daffodil please do call 999 if you are struggling!

user34254356 · 28/03/2020 11:06

@mellowmelly the antibiotic is giving the bad taste in the mouth. I just started on the same one and had the same taste in my mouth. I would've freaked out as well but luckily my cousin mentioned this side effect to me yesterday.

lovemylot1 · 28/03/2020 11:07

Drswife I had the nighttime fear when my symptoms were at their worst two weeks ago. I was scared to sleep because when I came round I felt like I was suffocating. So I basically became nocturnal, slept in the day and watched tv all night. Comedy box sets or something light hearted and absorbing. Hope you are better soon

@Doingitaloneandproud

Make sure he drinks plenty

EMichel102 · 28/03/2020 11:13

@lovemylot1 Good to hear from you and that it sounds like it’s gradually improving!

MellowMelly · 28/03/2020 11:15

@longshot she is 17 years old. I tell you though she has handled this much better than I would of!

@user34254356 yes you’re right! She was having the strange taste prior to starting the antibiotics too but this may explain why it’s more overwhelming today! Thank you!

Doingitaloneandproud · 28/03/2020 11:18

Thank you @porcupineinwaiting I will make sure he does

I hope everyone who is ill feels better ASAP, the varied symptoms from this virus are horrible. That YouTube video was good, I've made a note of that as well so thank you to the poster!

SchrodingersKitty · 28/03/2020 11:19

@TheDrsWife46: try and relax if you are still on hold / waiting for a call back. That in itself is a stressful experience - it was my only time of getting near to a panic attack during this illness. But when i finally spoke to a doctor it was really reassuring. I hope you get to talk to someone soon.

TheDrsWife46 · 28/03/2020 11:22

Waiting on a GP. It was A&E or an hour callback. I asked for a callback because i can breathe. I dont to block a bed for someone when its the shakes/dizziness/chills that is giving me panic. Im ready to take diazepam thats 4yrs old. The clinician begged me to throw them away

TheDrsWife46 · 28/03/2020 11:23

If im missing acknowledging anyone. I am so sorry this is my lifeline at the moment. I know nowhere else to consult people experiencing this

Casino218 · 28/03/2020 11:23

@Thedrswife I wouldn't recommend taking Valium. It's a respiratory suppressant. Try other methods of relaxation. Why don't you call GP

Morning everyone . I had a terrible day yesterday and also had awful anxiety . I eventually just flopped on the sofa at five pm and my DS who is 15 sorted dinner etc . He’s actually been a very calming influence and said to me yesterday that stress and anxiety was probably just making a lot of the symptoms worse which I knew really . Fell asleep watching Friday night dinner and slept ok last night . Chest is crackly again today and hurts in my back on the right now . Temp is up again too . I had ten hours sleep but still feel shattered .

ofwarren · 28/03/2020 11:26

Please don't take the diazepam DrsWife it's really not safe.
This WILL pass. Hang in there, we are all here for you.
Keep talking.

SchrodingersKitty · 28/03/2020 11:27

@TheDrsWife46: don't take the diazepam. You are clearly too sensible for that - you know it might make things worse. Have you tried slowly breathing into your cupped hands / a paper bag to dispel the panic a bit? I know how you feel - I'm severely claustrophobic and have had some horrible panic attacks. You will get through this. As someone has already said, the chills are your body strongly fighting back.

Spacecadetagain · 28/03/2020 11:28

@TheDrsWife46 I was a nurse until 16 years ago . Please don’t take diazepam or any other benzodiazepines. They are central nervous system suppressants which if you have the virus is the last thing you should be taking now

IpanemaGallina · 28/03/2020 11:33

I’ve just had 48 hours of continuous shaking, nausea, shivering, dizziness, insomnia, falling about the room like I’m drunk or something. It finally stopped this morning around 8am. I was very frightening and sometime crying make it stop.

It’s a horrible nasty fever. Just try to distract yourselves. Think about nice memories. Yoga breathing. I know it’s hard, I think it will come back later for me but I’m trying to relax during a respite.

I was on the last thread. Found it a great comfort.

EMichel102 · 28/03/2020 11:35

@Spacecadetagain good that you had the sleep - very envious! yes the chest stuff will take time I imagine. What day are you on now?

Spacecadetagain · 28/03/2020 11:37

@EMichel102 . I’m either day 15 going from the first day of my temperature or day 11 from the first day I felt properly ill . Got the irritating cough now and sharp pains in my ribs on the right when I cough .

EMichel102 · 28/03/2020 11:50

@spacecadetagain I’m on day 12 and haven’t had a cough yet but have everything else and upper back chest pains as of today (makes me think maybe pneumonia?). Did you have severe physical fatigue that’s improved too?
