There seems to be an assumption that mentioning Andrew's alleged paedophilia makes me not British, very curious.

It was putting him next in line after Charles that made people doubt you as a reliable source of information. I don't care if you're british or not.

NooNooHead · 27/03/2020 13:50

Health secretary too now... sorry if that had already been said.

"I do think Trump, by stopping flights from China in particular, has handled the crisis with more success. "

Whatever one may think of Boris, he has never sunk to the level of Trump and imo never would
He is simply not that evil and ruthless.
He has been a blunderer, but not a narcissistic psychopath.

Trump's actions are entirely based on what he thinks best for his re-election chances
He would sacrifice any number of Americans for that

Hence his attempt to get support for restarting the US economy now, despite all public health experts warning against:

He thinks an economic crash would damage his election chances
and his (low minformation) voters in rural "red" states are at far less risk than Democrats in mostly urban "blue" states

The continuation of his trade war with China,
his deliberate destabilisation that helped bring down the Kazak government
his continued insistence of sanctions against Iran and other US "enemies" in deperate straits
....
all examples of how he is making this global disaster even worse

I do wish Boris were a much stronger & capable leader, to take over de facto leadership of the West in this crisis
Even a Major or Callaghan could have done that, let alone Thatcher or Blair
As it is, Trump is in the driving seat

Hoppinggreen · 27/03/2020 13:52

I’m not a fan but I wish him a speedy recovery and hope his girlfriend and anyone else close to him stays well
The more high profile people get it though the more likely the idiots who think they are immune to Corona are to take it seriously ( I’m looking at you Mother)

There needs to be a thread on Cummings.
He I'm my opinion he is waiting for a power move that will allow him the opportunity to unleash his inner Hitler to the power of 10

Cam77 · 27/03/2020 13:53

"I'm shaking hands continuously.. ."
Boris Johnson 03/03/2020
Hes a total twat isnt he. Hes probably passed it onto a dozen people at least. Still, I wish him well with the virus.

Mittens030869 · 27/03/2020 13:53

Does correcting you mean that we don't agree that PA is a creep? Yes he's a creep, but that doesn't mean that he's next in line after Charles. He isn't, that's William. It's just a fact.

Ks0708 · 27/03/2020 13:54

I don't think being overly dramatic helps. If all the government get it, most of them will still recover pretty quickly. We're not doomed. This is what I meant when I said this will panic our easily panicked nation. Hmm

PerkingFaintly · 27/03/2020 13:54

Thank you, Xiaoxiong.Grin

Dear me, that really is an unfortunate visual isn't it? Quite the prolonged scuttle – and down the rabbit hole at the end.Grin

NB It should go without saying that I hope everyone in parliament who's contracted this only has it mildly, including the many ordinary workers there. When Nadine Dorries tested positive I thought it likely it would go around there, so not too surprised at all this news.

VegetableMunge · 27/03/2020 13:55

Give Vlad our love man.

ErrolTheDragon · 27/03/2020 13:56

Mumsnet doesn't exist to 'respond' to random men who join up and pontificate inaccurately.

BigChocFrenzy · 27/03/2020 13:57

To be fair, a number of native Brits are also surprisingly ignorant / confused about the succession order for the monarchy
and also the British Constitution

BigChocFrenzy · 27/03/2020 13:58

but when a new poster seems so "unusual" ....

kateandme · 27/03/2020 13:58

yes but think how many people he has been in touch with.shitting hell its all around the country.and when was his incubation perioud and who had he touched then.he could have spread it so many places.

Cam77 · 27/03/2020 14:00

That March 3rd quote from Johnson is quite incredible in retrospect. Im shaking hands!...business as usual! ... then 9 days later the infamous "people will die speech". What an absolute farce.

PerkingFaintly · 27/03/2020 14:01

I hope @MNHQ leave manjoinsmn's posts up: it's instructive to watch them at work.

ErrolTheDragon · 27/03/2020 14:02

Nothing we've not seen many times before over the years, perking

PatioCandidate · 27/03/2020 14:02

Glad to see they seem to have sorted out the shortage of CV testing equipment

GrouchoMrx · 27/03/2020 14:03

The Great British Public, for their own well-being, are well advised to steer well clear of the Tories.

This has never been more true than today.

Falacy · 27/03/2020 14:05

Just saw Hancock tested positive too.

It's obviously running rife through Westminster.

Are they saying 2m social distancing doesn't work 🤔

Totally disagree, the more high profile cases there are with mild symptoms, the more complacent the idiots will get. “See, told you it was nothing, Prince Charles/Boris barely sneezed”.

slipperywhensparticus · 27/03/2020 14:07

Look it's the Americans who wont come over here and arrest him or interview him nothing to do with us and while your at it America bring over that murderer she needs to stand trial and be given a ridiculously lenient suspended sentence too
