To those upset about having to pay lots of tax, I would just point out that if you own a home you can perhaps soothe your frustration by realising that you are the lucky recipients of huge govt help. Free market my arse when it comes to protecting home owners and letting the price of property soar. This also has the direct effect of making other people more likely to need govt assistance. So the extent to which you are net contributors rather than beneficiaries will be vastly lessened, perhaps even cancelled out, if you own a home. Hopefully that will make you feel better.
