Anybody 'wondering' about how the Prime Minister leading us through a pandemic has access to testing and healthcare is beyond hope.

LittleDragonGirl · 27/03/2020 12:26

wait until you are the one with the virus and needing medical help.

From the NHS that the Torys have gradually destroyed? That's part the problem. If people like BoJo and other politicians where reliant on public health care then they would not have let it become so over worked and underfunded. If I have to go to hospital for coronavirus I'll have already made my peace, as the equipment simply dosent exist in enough numbers, and staff.are hugely struggling under current pressures.
It must be lovely to know you have the same illness that is killing the population you are supposed to be leading, yet knowing that it's unlikely you will suffer serious complications due to the quick testing and availability of money to fund care that isnt available to the vast majority.

Germany has a VERY low death rate due to coronavirus, and this has been attributed to high testing and therefore early identification of those ill, thus allowing treatment to managed better and less people to enter a serious state of illness.

Choo975 · 27/03/2020 12:26

Why are people asking why he is getting tested while others aren’t?

Is it not obvious.....he is the Prime Minister!

Just like Charles is next in line to the throne!

How fucking difficult is it to work that out?

FFS

sillycat72 · 27/03/2020 12:27

I thought he looked pale and unwell, maybe people will take it more seriously, shows how infectious it is! Stay at home everyone

Giraffe50 · 27/03/2020 12:27

Poor Boris, I hope it remains a mild version and he recovers well.

Cam77 · 27/03/2020 12:27

Seriously though, I am a Labour voter and I do genuinely hope Boris is Ok. I may not like him or his politics, but I don't wish harm on the bloke. That's just horrible.

Me neither. I hope he isn't lying though.

MaxNormal · 27/03/2020 12:27

I wouldn't wish ill on another human being, but I can't muster up many fucks either.

MarieQueenofScots · 27/03/2020 12:28

If you’re enjoying the fact that somebody has a potentially fatal illness, then you’re either not very bright, or you’re a really unpleasant person

Anyone care to confirm which they are?

I say that as a single mum, who Boris despises....see? You can NOT wish someone harm whilst still fundamentally disagreeing with their politics. It’s really easy.

Cam77 · 27/03/2020 12:28

Why does everyone refer to him on first name terms. How's Theresa these days? Anyone heard from Tony or Dave recently? Make's me feel a little bit sick.

LittleDragonGirl · 27/03/2020 12:29

Anybody 'wondering' about how the Prime Minister leading us through a pandemic has access to testing and healthcare is beyond hope.

But what about the medical staff we the general public rely on to prevent as many preventable deaths as possible?
The medical staff that theoretical many of these high profile individuals will be reliant on for care (although i would be very surprised if private health care plans arent in place). Surely when it comes down to it the people keeping people alive are humongously more important then a few select individuals who just happen to have money? Surely the lives of everyone are not less important then the lives of one or two people?

middleager · 27/03/2020 12:30

Well said Eerie that is how I feel too.

This is no joking matter.

But he joked. He laughed about shaking hands while the world was screaming and tens of thousands are dying.

VegetableMunge · 27/03/2020 12:30

It's quite possible someone on here has actually been infected by Johnson personally isleofwight, given his irresponsible behaviour.

Ks0708 · 27/03/2020 12:30

Anyone joking about this is insane. If he has it, others probably do too. Just take a second to imagine how quickly this country (of panic biyers) would panic if a large % of the government were infected or worse during a time of emergency. I hope it doesn't happen to that extent, but this absolutely has the potential to bring chaos and unrest.

Sapphiresunrise · 27/03/2020 12:31

I don't understand the shock that this is causing. People on my Facebook who are 'in shock', 'can't believe it', etc.
He's a human being, politicians, celebrities and royalty don't have greater immunity than anyone else.

The80sweregreat · 27/03/2020 12:31

His girlfriend must be concerned.

Sizeablecontours · 27/03/2020 12:31

I think that would be an excellent new rule btw FlyingGeese

Of course he got tested
So did Corbyn
So did Prince Charles
So probably did the Queen and key Cabinet ministers
So did Merkel
So did probably nearly every other leader in the world

If they didn't, then personally I'd be pissed off at them for irresponsible virture signalling during an emergency

We may approve / disapprove of them in normal times, but the last thing any country needs atm is its leadership or head of state dying off or being incapacitated for a long time

TheLadyAnneNeville · 27/03/2020 12:33

@Cam77 you’re right. This annoys the crap out of my husband but we’ve always referred to him, in a media sense, as Boris so, “good old buffoon/man on a bungee/laugh a minute Boris” he will stay, for many.

Theresa May NEVER put herself forward in that way.

On another note, can we assume that BJ’s closest advisor may himself have contracted some potential herd immunity? I do not wish Mr Cummings harm but I detest him and his “herd immunity/if a few people die, so be it” attitude.

Sizeablecontours · 27/03/2020 12:33

I hope Chris Whitty doesn't get struck down

Bubblebu · 27/03/2020 12:34

he caught it from Carrie...

slartibarti · 27/03/2020 12:34

Why am i thinking the Queen has something to with it? Hmmmmm

I give up. Please tell us why you're thinking that?

jasjas1973 · 27/03/2020 12:34

Whilst wishing him a speedy & full recovery, his "its ok to shake hands" and not cancelling events like Crufts, Cheltenham & football matches, has made the spread of CV-19 far worse and put many others at risk.

Also, if these symptoms came on yesterday, why was he outside nr Sunak, with both disappearing into no10 together? the 2m gap isn't a guarantee.

Eireni · 27/03/2020 12:34

All those people using this to have a dig at Boris, like him or not how can you seriously question his motives in dealing with corona?
I don’t think I am ‘using this have a dig’, but interpret people expressing their unfavourable opinions of Boris as explaining their honest reactions to the news he contacted the virus not being solely “oh poor little lamb”.

I don’t question his ‘motivation in dealing with corona’. I do question his motivation for wanting to be PM in the first place, his interest in actually doing the job of a PM vs his ‘legacy’, his suitability for the role, his competence in managing the Covid19 crisis, and his integrity.
