Don't know for sure if its corona but I expect he will be tested now but I'm very worried, he has heart health problems so isn't healthy to begin with but now his oxygen sat levels are low so they've taken him in.

Just need a hand hold I suppose. I have to find the positives here, at least its before the peak so there are beds.

Here to hold your hand. Definitely better now than in two weeks when things will be much more challenging. The VAST majority of people will recover. Hold that thought.

MrsSnitchnose · 26/03/2020 12:49

Don't know what to say but didn't just want to read and run. I'm really sorry for you and I hope he comes through

Handhold here. I’m sure they will be taking good care of him, and you are right the hospitals won’t be so busy yet (if it even is CV). Here if you want to keep talking.

Natsku · 26/03/2020 15:02

My mum and my brother have both been quite ill before dad got ill and though my mum said she didn't have a cough she kept coughing when I was on the phone with her so I think it is possibly it, but they are both recovering now at least. Mum can't be at the hospital with him though and that makes me very sad.

YakkityYakYakYak · 26/03/2020 15:27

It must be very tough to not be able to go in to visit; are you or DM allowed to speak with him on the phone at all?
Hope you get some positive news from the hospital today

HathorX · 26/03/2020 15:32

The pluses are that there are still ICU beds, and the medical staff have more experience of the virus now. I'm so very sorry for you, it is a frightening situation to be in. I hope you are able to video chat to your dad, even if he can't chat back you could tell him you love him. Thinking of you xx

neveradullmoment99 · 26/03/2020 15:33

My brother is in hospital currently. He is stable thankfully and in a ward but needs oxygen. He was in the high dependency unit.
He lives with my mum [85] and now she is on her own, cant see her son, and is so lonely. I feel so dreadful. Noone can go and see her as we now need to self isolate and she needs shielding. Chances are she is going to get it. Im trying to be positive as he went in on Monday and she seems fine. Fingers crossed.
Its all so shit.
Hope your dad is ok Flowers

neveradullmoment99 · 26/03/2020 15:34

Did i say i hate this fucking virus?

Natsku · 26/03/2020 16:46

I'm hoping we'll be able to call (well hope even more we can video chat so he can see the children to cheer him up)

@neveradullmoment99 glad your brother is stable, was he in the HDU for long? I hope your mother doesn't get it, is she keeping in touch regularly by phone so she can be checked on?

Hand hold and best of luck to you both.
As pp said odd are in your favour

ifonly4 · 26/03/2020 16:52

Hope your Dad picks up. Not sure who in the family is the main contact with the hospital, but I'd want to know if they suspect CV19 or are testing for it. That way you have a better knowledge of the position. Let us know who he is. It must be an awful time for all of youFlowers

neveradullmoment99 · 26/03/2020 17:56

@Natsku my brother has tested positive for covid yesterday. He has mental health issues and did not present when i saw him with any symptoms that i could see. He was admitted on Monday when my mum couldn't wake him. He was in critical care and we could not get in touch with him. He has no phone. He remained in there until yesterday so no, not long.
As for my mum, yes on the phone to her all the time and so is my brother.

neveradullmoment99 · 26/03/2020 17:57

My brother is 53. Hoping he continues to get better. Sounds like he is on the right path.
Hope your dad is ok too.
Now i am concerned for my mum.

neveradullmoment99 · 26/03/2020 17:59

He was in from Monday to Tuesday. Moved into a normal ward yesterday but is on oxygen. Fingers crossed.

Chosennone · 26/03/2020 18:05

My Mum is in too and turns out its not Covid. She has been admitted with an infection. The ward she is on is quiet and there are plenty if nurses. They've saod their is a trickle of folk in the Covid ward/pods. I hope your Dad is clear too or gets the care he needs asap. Virtual handhold.

Natsku · 26/03/2020 19:23

@neveradullmoment99 that must have been very scary for your mum. Fingers crossed she doesn't fall ill.

OP posts:
Natsku · 26/03/2020 19:58

My mum has spoken to him on the phone, said he sounds very ill, has severe pneumonia and has been tested but will be a couple of days before the results come.

Natsku · 27/03/2020 13:54

He got worse overnight. I'm really scared.

Handhold for you xxx

PinkJam · 27/03/2020 14:00

@Natsku Do the medical staff think it’s Covid? It must be very scary for you all. Thinking of you Flowers

Noworrieshere · 27/03/2020 14:03

Natsku this is all our worst fear right now, I'm so sorry it's happening to your family.

I'm glad he is safely in hospital and being cared for.

YakkityYakYakYak · 27/03/2020 14:05

So sorry to hear that @natsku

I’m sure this is going to be a tough day of waiting for news, and I’m not sure there will be much I can say to make you feel better, but I’m here for a hand hold if you need it.

Many many more people recover from this than don’t and even though the NHS has its issues, it’s still one of the best healthcare systems in the world. I’m sure they will be taking excellent care of your Dad.

Pennyandthejets · 27/03/2020 14:05

Flowers I'm so sorry. I hope he recovers well x
