Don't know for sure if its corona but I expect he will be tested now but I'm very worried, he has heart health problems so isn't healthy to begin with but now his oxygen sat levels are low so they've taken him in.

Just need a hand hold I suppose. I have to find the positives here, at least its before the peak so there are beds.

You are in my thoughts xxx

BoreOfWhabylon · 28/03/2020 15:48
Flowers Yes, the ventilator will enable much more oxygen to get into his lungs without him struggling to breathe (the muscles used for breathing can tire just like any other muscle) He will be sedated so he will be unaware and not frightened.

Thinking of you xx

Kateplaysrugbyinmydreams · 28/03/2020 15:49

Sorry to hear this op. Yes they process the results through the weekend and it does sound very much like your dad has Covid. Obviously it's not good he needs a ventilator but the very fact the doctors have gone for that shows they hope he can get through it. Hang on to being hopeful.

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 28/03/2020 15:54

Thinking of all of you at this terrifying time.

Sending hopes and best wishes for your fathers' recoveries.

I'm yet another poster with very vulnerable parents. It's truly a very scary time.

Praying for a speedy recovery for your dad.

twinnywinny14 · 28/03/2020 15:59

Sending lots of love your way @Natsku they sound like they are looking after him well, the ventilator will help relieve the strain on his body and heart 💓

Soontobe60 · 28/03/2020 16:03

You must be beside yourself @natsku. Just remember that whilst your dad is on a ventilator he won't be in any pain, or remember anything when he recovers. Take care.

Nogodsnomasters · 28/03/2020 16:14

I am sorry your family is going through this. I wish your dad a speedy recovery from this. I'm here for a handhold. I think the cruelest part of this illness is not being able to be by your loved ones side.

SirGawain · 28/03/2020 16:15

Our nearby large hospitals are very quiet at the moment. I think that they have cleared the decks of most elective admissions, but the real CV onslaught has not yet begun. Hope he gets well quickly and is soon back home OP.

Natsku · 28/03/2020 17:42

BoreOfWhabylon thanks for explaining that, it sounds more positive to me if they're doing it to give his body a rest. And good to know he will be sedated.

I went for a walk to have a good cry alone and feel less panicky now

My mum called the hospital and spoke to someone, the test result had come back and it is corona. And he's comfortable now.

My friend's Mum was placed on a ventilator in similar circumstances (confirmed Covid), she's had it removed now and is doing well, praying for a similar outcome for you OP.. We're all behind you Flowers
