My dad has been taken to the hospital

Don't know for sure if its corona but I expect he will be tested now but I'm very worried, he has heart health problems so isn't healthy to begin with but now his oxygen sat levels are low so they've taken him in.

Just need a hand hold I suppose. I have to find the positives here, at least its before the peak so there are beds.

Not really relevant but my grandad has been in and out of hospital a few times since November (not covid related), he's elderly and frail with multiple conditions. There have been at least two occasions where I've seen him and assumed he had days left. But he's recovered, he's still frail but he's out and cheery and has his personality and quality of life back. I've been thinking they really are miracle workers.

We've heard that his fever has gone down a bit but his oxygen levels still aren't up where they want them to be but it sounds to me like that means he's improving, if they haven't gone down more even if they're not up enough yet.

I wonder if the test results won't come until after the weekend now or do they still process during the weekend?

Just came on to check in and say I’m thinking of you and your Dad today. That’s really positive news about his fever and I hope he continues to improve over the weekend.

I’m not certain about the testing but I have a few friends who are hospital lab technicians and they work weekends, so I would guess that they keep processing tests throughout the weekend.

Well I have good news. My brother is off oxygen and is up and about. So that's excellent.

Op- sorry to hear about your dad. To answer your question, if he is in a hospital, they would have lab staff on weekends too. I had thought tests usually come back the following day, so am very surprised if he was admitted on thur that they still don't have a result!

He's been moved to intensive care and put on a ventilator, mum thinks it's because the low oxygen sats are too much of a strain on his heart which isn't so strong, does that make sense?
