Delay in today's numbers

TheReelSlimShady · 25/03/2020 20:00

Unless I'm being really stupid, it doesn't look like the numbers have been updated for today, it still says 24th March

www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public

Not seen any reasons as to why they are delayed?

@ShellsAndSunrises

Can you link to that page please?

deathswiftlyfollows · 25/03/2020 21:12

www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public#number-of-cases hasn't been updated yet

LambriniSocialist · 25/03/2020 21:12

There’s a really odd vibe here, psychologically.

Isn't there just.

All this 'something's not right' crap. Let's just take the numbers. They are a sign that, for now, the health service is largely dealing with things. The only problem, as others have said, is that people might start thinking 'oh it's OK we're not going to be like Italy after all' and start breaking rules and being twats again.

ShellsAndSunrises · 25/03/2020 21:12

My app is playing up so badly. Sorry; will get that removed to avoid confusion Blush

Pishposhpashy · 25/03/2020 21:12

Yup, feels like some are disappointed.

I know right? It is bizarre.

UYScuti · 25/03/2020 21:12

There’s a really odd vibe here
yup, all sat knitting around the gallows, a clear sense of disappointment at the low death figures, all keen to say 'I told you so, we're all gonna crash and burn and it's all the fault of the naysayers that'll teach them'

Sexnotgender · 25/03/2020 21:12

Nobody is bloody disappointed for fucks same. It just doesn’t seem realistic.

KeysDontBelongInTheFridge · 25/03/2020 21:12

On worldometer is says there’s only been 187 new cases today

www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/uk/

Sexnotgender · 25/03/2020 21:12

Sake*

KeysDontBelongInTheFridge · 25/03/2020 21:13

That seems impossibly low

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 25/03/2020 21:13

Nobody WANTS the numbers to be higher. We want the numbers to be accurate. And something very peculiar has happened tonight where not only is the 'number' released very late, it seems to only be reported by the media and not on official PHE/GOV sites as usual. This does not seem right and neither does the number. Surely it's far too early to see over 50% reduction in deaths from one day to the next? Do you not see how this may raise questions about accuracy?*

^this!

Public Health England have definitely not updated the figures for today.

Bluntness100 · 25/03/2020 21:13

People, were. I was supposed to be on a long weekend in London two weeks ago and cancelled and the hotel said everyone was cancelling

It was a good few days ago that Boris said tfl was down eighty percent in central London. Pics of deserted china town etc. People were already starting to cancel things a good couple of weeks ago.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 25/03/2020 21:13

People seem disappointed the number of deaths is lower.

Sad, really.

ThatsWotSheSaid · 25/03/2020 21:13

This sounds promising (fingers crossed).

AHippoNamedBooBooButt · 25/03/2020 21:13

9529 is today's total

LambriniSocialist · 25/03/2020 21:13

Is this better than Italy 2 weeks ago as people keep saying we are 2 weeks behind them?

Yes, much better. We were following the same trajectory for a while but the last couple of days have moved away a bit.

CheekyMango · 25/03/2020 21:13

I think everyone just wants this over, it's like the tsunami that hasn't hit.

todayisnottuesday · 25/03/2020 21:13

Yup, feels like some are disappointed

It actually really does.

loobyloo1234 · 25/03/2020 21:14

Is this better than Italy 2 weeks ago as people keep saying we are 2 weeks behind them?

A lot lower yes. Hence some confusion as were on the same curve as them a few days ago. 14 days ago they were on 827 deaths according to worldometer

Bluntness100 · 25/03/2020 21:14

We moved away from Italy about three days ago.

Mrskeats · 25/03/2020 21:14

Ok thought so thanks. Good news then.

WorriedNHSer · 25/03/2020 21:15

9529 total cases showing on the PHE map

ShellsAndSunrises · 25/03/2020 21:16

@JemimaPuddleCat here’s the mobile link www.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/ae5dda8f86814ae99dde905d2a9070ae

Shout if you need the desktop one and I’ll see if I can get it on my phone.

It’s also linked from the Public Health England site

Derbygerbil · 25/03/2020 21:16

@ShellsAndSunrises

It says today’s date but they’re yesterday’s numbers.
