I'm relieved. How about you?

I would gently suggest that people don't focus on the "three weeks" aspect as it will most definitely be extended on assessment.

Things have been left too late for three weeks of isolation to make any difference now. In three weeks time we will still be dealing with the repercussions of Cheltenham and other non essential crap people have flocked to.

In my home town the night the pubs were told to close they were holding £1 a drink night to get as much money as possible before the closure and as I expected the people turned up in their masses Sad

Yeah, it is shit for people in housing estates and big high rises. I really feel sorry. It's annoying without a garden, but at least we have the park close by (and it isn't closing, thank goodness!).

defthand · 24/03/2020 01:26

Surprisingly depressed. It needed doing, and the measures are likely still not enough, but it made things real in an unsettling way.

Jourdain11 · 24/03/2020 01:30

@defthand In truth, I expected more. I expected the parks closed and I could have turned cartwheels with relief when they weren't! And yes, purely selfish reaction Wink

BrokenMumTeenDD · 24/03/2020 01:35

Really, really relieved, as we are in the higher risk group, plus live very close to a tourist area & people have been absolute bloody morons. It's been so busy with flocks if idiots treating it as a holiday, that us locals daren't go to the shop for food. Thankfully we have a Brexshit stash & have been following the guidelines for longer as I was suspected to have it, but doubt I did as it was very mild. Weirdest thing coming out of 2 weeks quarantine where it was relatively normal, to Armageddon & now lockdown Confused

Stupendously idiotic.

ondalay

Just said on Sky that you only go to work if your work is deemed essential

TabbyMumz · 24/03/2020 08:11

"Just said on Sky that you only go to work if your work is deemed essential"

Lots of people seem their work essential

Patchworkpatty · 24/03/2020 10:27

Ondalay do you wake up in the morning brimming with ideas of the most offensive things to say ?
I noticed you yesterday , accusing workers upset at being obliged to go in to work , in non-essential industries .. as lazy lard arses who just want 80% for doing nothing ..

But now I am thinking that you actually might be one of those numbskull employers ... who haven't the brain power to work out that forcing workers to commute on trains and/or tubes places them at direct risk - which they then bring in to the business premises and infect most of the work force..

So interested to know.. are you an employer ? Or just a goady troll.. who I should have known better than to feed ?

Bluntness100 · 24/03/2020 10:47

I think he has done the right thing, but I’m angry that we are in this position, that it has come to this. We are all now reliant on everyone doing as requested and we are reliant on the scientific community finding a treatment to make this manageable as quickly as possible so we have the restrictions lifted.

Lordfrontpaw · 24/03/2020 10:52

DH had to go out (medical) and he said it was still busy outside - lots of people in running gear!

Jourdain11 · 24/03/2020 11:03

Lots of people running up and down our road early, like 6.30 or 7am.

"I couldn't help but wonder," to quote Carrie Bradshaw, if they were being considerate and exercising early (while not busy) or getting a sneaky run in on the premise that if it was before other people were out then it wouldn't count!

Roostersmum2 · 24/03/2020 11:13

Mid morning update, no energy at all.

My throat feels raw and I now have what I think is indigestion (burny bile type feeling in stomach chest and throat)

If I were to force a belch I'm 99.9 percent sure bile would come out.

Told DH I'm going back to sleep Sad

Patchworkpatty I noticed the same, ondalay was trying so hard to be deliberately provocative and I was so pleased when they were ignored by so many posters.

Hannah021 · 24/03/2020 13:20

@safariboot oh shoot, my car is booked for the 27th!!! Got to call them now and see
