@Arcadia I’ve had up and down days and I’m sure I’ll have to take my time doing this but then I’m one of these I want it done yesterday people !

Roussette · 25/03/2020 10:39

I've lived in a beautiful part of the country for decades, I started a fitness thing on Jan. 1st and honestly never realised how lovely it was round here and with this sunshine and being desperate to walk out into the fields, I'm appreciating it even more now.

Spudlet · 25/03/2020 10:48

Just did a group WhatsApp video call with my mum, sister and nieces. Was lovely to see them all! Definitely recommend doing that if at all possible. Hoping DH can set a similar one up with his dad and brother and family.

I’ve had up and down days I’m sorry that you’re struggling at the minute, but that comment after you’ve built a trampoline, did make me chuckle.

This situation brings out the best in people too. I got a phone call from one of my clients (dog sitter and now closed) to say they left a “little something on the front step”. They’d only gone and left me a bag of food! Meat, bread, milk, spuds, veg and even a big bar of chocolate! I couldn’t believe it, as their wee dog has only stayed a couple of times. Isn’t that just so kind!

Robin233 · 25/03/2020 12:51

Place marking :)

Bunnyflop · 25/03/2020 13:10

Agreed that this isn’t the place for discussing symptoms etc, this is a safe space for people to try and escape the anxiety inducing discussion of those things.

Not a bad day here so far: popped out into the garden to discover happily that my new £27 B&Q cherry blossom tree is covered in pink buds and also that my tulips are coming into bud. Yay! And then one of new roses arrived- photo of what the flowers will be like above. It was one of our wedding flowers.

Then we went out for a trip to the park. I went for a lovely solo walk around the fields and the allotments while ds and dh kicked the ball around.

Have been sent an absolute mountain of school work by ds’ teacher!!! Most of his class are posh serious studious types who I suspect will plough through hours of it a day. On the other hand I have a lot of health problems and ds is a tricky character who hates homework...

Forgot rose pic...

Finally ventured out today with the kids we went for a walk around the fields the kids loved it I was outrun by a four year old which made me think I need to use this opportunity to lose some weight and get fit!.
Was really good we didn't bump in to anyone and it was lovely.
Other than that was great to breathe in fresh air also had a small laugh too I saw two people who knew each other having a catch up standing on opposite sides of the road shouting to one another Grin

Arcadia · 25/03/2020 13:35

I've got a sore throat from shouting to neighbours!
GOOD NEWS:
Just speaking to neighbour over fence - she works in trauma admissions data services for our local hospital, she says that admissions are massively down due to lack of car accidents etc from people not travelling so that is freeing up resources for the pressurised departments and staff can be re-deployed as needed

Nononononono33 · 25/03/2020 13:39

If we’re after good news I’d suggest reading this: www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-52035615

turnandfacethenamechange · 25/03/2020 13:40

I made my hostel/lockdown "family" dinner. Here are my roast potatoes. Grin

Alsohuman · 25/03/2020 13:57

Thank you so much for that article, it’s such good news.

Nononononono33 · 25/03/2020 14:02

Don’t thank me, thank science!

Spudlet · 25/03/2020 14:02

@Nononononono33 and @IdrisElbasLeftTesticle That is wonderful news! If this works it will all be worthwhile.

Just sitting in the sunshine with DS in his sandpit. He tells me he’s digging for treasure. Every so often he tells me ‘Found some Mum!’ He came up with this little imaginative game all by himself, might not sound much to most people but I’m very proud of him.

I can hear a tractor doing something agricultural a couple of fields away and a skylark singing overhead, and just had a nice chat over the fence with my neighbour too. Took myself off for a little run earlier and didn’t see a single soul. Feeling at peace at the moment.

Just went out for first time in three days to a very quiet field. Everyone keeping well over 2 metres, very few people around. DS put his hand in dog poo. Normally this would send me into overdrive. Today, we laughed our heads of and formulated a plan of hand washing, showering and cloths washing in a very upbeat way. Smile

tobee · 25/03/2020 14:22

@turnandfacethenamechange those potatoes look lovely - sort of Greek looking on that plate!

Just watched Matt Lucas's baked potato song which made me slightly teary as he was so sad having to isolate last I saw!

tobee · 25/03/2020 14:27

Also got my amazon parcel of multivitamins (my old ones were out of date) and a packet of choccies I'd smuggled in. Remembered to shout "thank you very much!" to delivery man through letterbox. Grin

Well done sign up volunteers!!!

foxessocks · 25/03/2020 14:36

Hi everyone, I've just unfollowed a couple of people on Facebook which had made me feel so much better. Also helpful to see somebody telling one of them off for spreading fake news so glad I wasn't the only one annoyed!

Kids are in the garden blowing bubbles while dh paints the fence. he's been working all day so far so I'm having a little bit of peace and quiet inside with a cup of tea Brew

Great trampoline!
