Ps re Facebook, I’ve either unfollowed or snoozed for 30 days (while imagining myself zipping their mouth up, like zippy!)

1moreRep · 25/03/2020 06:57

hi guys i'm joining the thread.

i'm gutted that mumsnet has become so toxic as ive been on here for around 11 years and do not want to leave as it literally has been a life saver

however this thread has cheered me up as it is what mn is about, supporting each other so thankyou

Anyway, i'm struggling with missing my gym and sports clubs (usually we train 3 hours a day) but i'm coping with running/ bike riding and doing my own workouts at home
and some online stuff.

Positives that i can thing of are:

this has to be good for the environment

people will hopefully react well. to home working and companies will implement it more

we will learn to. appreciate each other, the public sector and see going out for meals as a treat not the norm

people will value their health more

1moreRep · 25/03/2020 06:59

plus here's a pic of my dogs to show how much they personally are loving the situation and having a lot more time with us

@1moreRep What lovely dogs!

I woke up early but the dawn chorus was getting going and it was beautiful. And I managed to get back to sleep again which is rare for me! Feeling pretty positive today. DH is going to work downstairs with a film on for DS later so I can go for a run a bit later in the day - I’m not a happy first thing runner, I like to have breakfast first.

Another day closer to the end of this, people 👍

Morning everyone, I hope people don't mind me posting this on here but I daren't venture onto other threads.

I woke up in the middle of the night on Saturday night with strong abdomimal cramps and diarrhoea. Sunday night/Monday morning, I woke up having had a night sweat (I never have them), then Monday morning developed a sore throat (felt swollen not scratchy). The sore throat had eased a bit yesterday but last night I woke up with another night sweat (not as bad as the first one) and during the night had more painful stomach cramps amd diarrhoea. These symptoms are unusual for me. I do not have a temperature and no cough, I feel a bit "out of sorts" but nothing terrible. I am wondering if it is coronavirus, has anyone had these symptoms and had a confirmed case? Google tells me that they can be symptoms.

On a positive note, my dh is now working from home and I enjoyed time in the garden with dcs and cat yesterday who was loving our presence.

1moreRep · 25/03/2020 07:37

yes, one day closer to this ending, just like child birth, each contraction gets harder but you know it is one less to experience.

It's a journey we have to go through to reach the destination of this being over

1moreRep · 25/03/2020 07:38

there is a test you can do, expell all the air from you lungs and see if you can count to ten as you do that without coughing

(it's not meant to be easy)

M0reGinPlease · 25/03/2020 07:57

@1moreRep please don't post rubbish like that.

Blerg · 25/03/2020 08:40

Yes, I think that is one that has been debunked @1moreRep We seem to have CV and I’ve been able to do that the whole time I’d say, but have other symptoms.

Thanks all for this thread everyone - truly every post and picture has helped. It’s been keeping me going over the last 10 days. My husband seemed to get CV and we all stayed home. A week ago today I started with symptoms, then the kids (4 & 6). It has been mild but persistent for all of us and the symptoms have varied. I haven’t had a cough but he did. For DH and I we think it is CV because of a sensation/ slight pain in the lungs, which we have never had before. DH is not recovering as quickly, so I’ve forced him to rest - he worked through the first week or so. Rest and destressing seems to help. Would love to have an antibody test at some point.

So my positive is that this has been manageable for us (so far) and I hope we are over the worst. Also good to see restrictions lifting in China.

I’m another one who feels I might be done with MN once this is over. There have been other issues people get hysterical about on here and I had a long break because it skewed my perspective and spiked anxiety!

To paraphrase Frozen 2, I’m just doing the next right thing. Fur me that’s focusing on rest for us all. We are binging on Disney+. Watching the original Beauty and the Beast with the kids and grateful to be warm, safe and have some food in.

1moreRep · 25/03/2020 08:42

i had no idea it wasn't accurate 😨 sorry ignore that post! i'm gutted now as that was making me feel more safe

LonginesPrime · 25/03/2020 08:48

I woke up early but the dawn chorus was getting going and it was beautiful

DD15 saw a post on Instagram the other day saying coronavirus is just a cover so they can keep everyone inside while they change the batteries in the birds.

The birds singing therefore means we're getting there!

Layladylay234 · 25/03/2020 08:56

Morning everyone. Here are some pics of my garden that I feel incredibly grateful to have. And my son,who still has a cough but temp seems under control, practicing his karate from his teachers tutorials videos. And I didn't even have to ask him!

Morning everyone . I haven’t posted for a few days as it became clear I probably had CV . I’d started feeling ill last week and posting on one of the other threads on here it’s clear we all have similiar symptoms so I believe I have it . I’ve been self isolating me and the dcs since . I keep having waves of panic then feeling really calm . I could use some positive vibes right now

Arcadia · 25/03/2020 09:37

When I look back at other tough times in my life they weren't necessary bad in themselves, but because of the shadow of fear hanging over everything. I wished afterwards that I could visit myself from the future and say it was going to be okay so that I could still deal with the tough stuff but without the anxiety, and enjoy the unexpected positives that can arise in dark times (spending time with family, time in the garden, getting to know neighbours, whatever it may be at the moment). I'm keeping that in mind and this thread is really helpful. Thank you.

Tartan333 · 25/03/2020 09:40

Spacecadet, can I ask what your symptoms have been please? Just wondering if they are similar to mine.
Hope you are ok and sending positive vibes Flowers

Arcadia · 25/03/2020 09:43

Hi @Spacecadetagain hope you're okay sending you positive vibes, rest and take it easy DaffodilBrew

Keynote1 · 25/03/2020 09:50

I have had night sweats and a sore throat for the last couple of weeks. There are probably lots of other bugs doing the rounds as well, also read that anxiety can cause night sweats so that would also figure with me.

Beautiful blue skies today, waiting for a fruit and veg delivery then hopefully out for a walk.

Spacecadetagain · 25/03/2020 09:53

@Tartan333 I had a high temp 12 days ago but no other symptoms . Felt ok for two days with no temp then on day four woke feeling a bit Ropey . Temp was up a bit . Day five had upset tummy and temp . Day six also .. then have basically been up and down since then .. temp fluctuates .. and I’ve had weird chest pains . Sore ribs etc . Have a mild cough but nothing to write home about . Yesterday felt like I had an elephant on my chest and was breathless then it eased by evening .
Today I’m feeling a bit rotten. Very hot and groggy . Bizarrely on Sunday I woke feeling completely normal . No temp . Nothing

Arcadia · 25/03/2020 10:05

Sorry please can we avoid discussing symptoms on here if possible for the terrible hypochondriacs amongst us? Thanks!

Alsohuman · 25/03/2020 10:13

Thanks Arcadia, this isn’t the thread for this conversation.

Siameasy · 25/03/2020 10:18

Morning all - enjoying the updates
We were out at 8 for our walk and astounded (and a bit ashamed really) at all the beautiful nature I’d never really fully noticed. So many bumble bees busily working - we got really close to one and it tried to climb on us❤️They are like little cats.

Spacecadetagain · 25/03/2020 10:19

Oops sorry ! @Tartan333 there is a thread on here I’ve been posting on so I’ll see if I can find the link and you can go on there . I suppose and I keep telling myself this .. we could all be going down with something completely unrelated as there lots of other weird viruses doing the rounds all the time ..
I’m about to assemble a ten foot trampoline on my own which should be interesting ! If I succeed and it doesn’t fall apart I’ll post a pic because it will be a miracle 😂

Arcadia · 25/03/2020 10:29

Thanks @Spacecadetagain and if you're well enough to assemble the trampoline I have to assume you're doing okay! 👌
