Those roast potatoes look delicious.

I'm a bit obsessed by food at the moment which isn't good Grin

VoyageInTheDark · 25/03/2020 14:44

DD wanted to go out in the garden this morning so I had my morning cuppa sat on the grass in the sunshine (garden furniture is still in the shed!) She was busy firing bubbles out of a bubble gun

Bunnyflop · 25/03/2020 14:57

@Spacecadetagain I would literally kill to have a go on that trampoline right now

Spacecadetagain · 25/03/2020 15:08

@bunnyflop so would I if I didn’t think I’d collapse after one jump !

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 25/03/2020 15:08

I am looking forward to having takeaway sushi for lunch. I roasted a chicken last night (first time I have ever done that) and it turned out really well.

I wonder what it says about me that all my positive things are food related Blush Grin

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 25/03/2020 15:09

I wish we had a trampoline too!!

magimedi · 25/03/2020 15:19

Waves to Hearts.

Still lost my appetite a bit & am losing weight - amazing as I really could do with it.

Lovely day here - lots of phone chats with people & feeling OK.

Positive news on an antibody test being available very shortly. Obviously key workers, NHS staff to get it first but anticipation that it will soon be available to all, either to self test at home or to go somewhere like a Pharmacy for a prick test.

People who live on flight paths are tweeting that they can hear birds chirping and have never smelt the air so fresh, this really cheered me up.

Spudlet · 25/03/2020 15:31

DH is back from the supermarket. He said it was very quiet and everyone was being sensible about distancing, plus he got almost everything on the list. So feeling good about that.

Saw this today:-

A man bought his wife a map of the world saying that when this is all over, he will take her anywhere in the world that she can hit with a dart.

They are going to spend two weeks behind the fridge.

MonaLisaDoesntSmile · 25/03/2020 15:53

Stupid thing, but while toddler was sleeping, I took a nice shower, with hair washing, hair mask, shaved my legs and used some lovely body butter I got on Xmas sales.
May bake a banana bread later as we have a couple about to go bad, and dont want to waste them.

tobee · 25/03/2020 16:10

Oh yes I'm going to do some maintenance on my body later on!!

Probably on some other threads that would be greeted with disgust at this time and a "ffs" added as a gotcha to their comment.

Bit scared of @Bunnyflop now and her trampolining related desires!!! GrinGrin

tobee · 25/03/2020 16:12

So weird to think we might be ordering test kits on amazon!

M0reGinPlease · 25/03/2020 16:15

Am I being dumb about the antibody test- if it shows you've had it does that mean you're both immune to catching it again and can no longer spread it to others?

CaveMum · 25/03/2020 16:20

@M0reGinPlease at the moment they can’t say with 100% certainty that having the antibodies means you can’t catch it again, but I would have thought that it was possible to be reinfected they’d have had definite cases of it by now.

I think this is a good starting point, it won’t make everything go back to normal but it will allow the experts to identify exactly how far it has spread and where the hotspots are.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 25/03/2020 16:21

The antibody tests are what I have been hoping (and expecting) would be along soon. They will mean that people are no longer forced to wonder whether they have had it or not, but can check.

Testing whether you have it isn't as useful, because you could test negative today and catch it tomorrow; testing whether you have had it is definitive.

M0reGinPlease · 25/03/2020 16:24

But dies it mean you can't continue to spread it?

News all seems cautiously positive today. I think Boris has so far made the right calls at the right time and in a few weeks we'll be in a much more positive place. Can't believe I'm defending a Tory!!

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 25/03/2020 16:28

As far as I can make out from the news sources, once you have had the disease and spent ten days isolated afterwards you will not be giving it to anyone else. So presumably all the household would need to have had it if you are self-isolating, and you'd all need to stay quarantined until ten days after the last of you had recovered (or tested positive on the antibody test) before you could be sure you wouldn't be spreading it if you went out -- but it is still a lot better than "I don't know".

M0reGinPlease · 25/03/2020 16:31

@AskingQuestionsAllTheTime absolutely, so many people think they've had it.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 25/03/2020 16:36

And of course it is only once we have real data about who has and who hasn't, real numbers as opposed to guesses, that we will be able to judge how lethal (or not!) it actually is. The percentage death-rate in this country is likely to drop a great deal, at a guess. Whilst we only test people who are ill enough to need hospitalisation (and a few people who are rich or important enough to be able to buy a test), naturally it will be skewed to far more serious.

Daffodilpasta · 25/03/2020 16:37

@M0reGinPlease I agree about Boris - I am certainly no fan but he is listening to expert advice and hopefully this will really help
My good news is

  • at least we don’t have Trump in charge (apologies to any Americans on this thread)
-my DDs played in the garden together for at least 30 minutes without arguing. I don’t think that’s happened since about 2015!
  • pic attached of spring colours and sunshine ☀️

Small tip for using hand cream if hands are getting sore after washing. I've been putting the cream directly on the back of my hands and then rubbing the backs together as that is where they are most sore. Then they get the most attention and my palms etc are less greasy! Smile

tobee · 25/03/2020 16:46

Beautiful photo Daffodil

Bunnyflop · 25/03/2020 16:48

@MonaLisaDoesntSmile that doesn’t sound silly at all, I had a long shower yesterday with some sanctuary salt scrub, was bloody lovely!

@tobee don’t worry I can’t actually go on a trampoline as I have fibromyalgia. Still want to tho!
