Keynote1
is it still true that over 80% have mild or no symptoms

That's more that 80% of the people who have even been tested; there are certainly lots more who haven't been tested, and who had it so mildly they didn't even notice it.

If they had it at all, that is. It's a bit like all diseases; you can be carrying it and have no idea because for whatever reason you are immune or you simply don't have the right ACE2 receptors for it.

And if you are doing that, there is also the possibility that you are not going to infect anyone else either.

Great news RobinHobb

foxessocks · 24/03/2020 21:07

I'm getting seriously pissed off with people on my Facebook feed posting really scary stuff which is completely unnecessary and then saying how anxious they are etc etc well they are spreading the anxiety around by sharing this stuff which is not from proper sources or validated stuff it's just copied and pasted and shared without thought.

This is a positive thread so I'm trying to decide what to do about it that isn't just become more scared myself. I want to tell them not to do it! But some are friends and I don't want to argue or fall out. I know they think they're helping by making people want to stay at home.

Maybe I can find something positive I can put on FB instead. Or just delete my FB altogether which is tempting!

Has anyone else seem similar things today and feel the same as me? How are you dealing with it?

Sorry for the rant...

In lighter news.dh has now poured me a large G&T Grin

tobee · 24/03/2020 21:08

Tests! Please roll out the tests!!!

HonestlyItsFine · 24/03/2020 21:10

RobinHobb, great news about the pneumonia (it feels weird to say that- great news you don't have CV is what I mean!)
Definitely good news if Italy is on the downward curve.

foxessocks · 24/03/2020 21:11

Antibody tests are covered on the latest BBC news, looks very interesting and something positive!

ExpletiveDelighted · 24/03/2020 21:13

Foxes - yes. I'm avoiding all posts that start with "a friend who works in xyz says...". I have muted a few friends.

HonestlyItsFine · 24/03/2020 21:16

Antibody tests will really change things, I hope, depending on how they are used.
Obviously in hospitals to screen people.
Maybe even to randomly check people in communities.
And of course people would want peace of mind.

ExpletiveDelighted · 24/03/2020 21:29

Foxes have you got a link to the antibody test article? I can't find it.

foxessocks · 24/03/2020 21:31

www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/world-5201388

On the BBC news live feed just after 8pm it was posted...

foxessocks · 24/03/2020 21:32

I don't think that link worked sorry Confused

ExpletiveDelighted · 24/03/2020 21:39

Not to worry, I will google.

M0reGinPlease · 24/03/2020 22:02

@foxessocks I've deleted my social media until this is over. I just couldn't stand the amount of absolute bollocks people I previously thought to be reasonably intelligent were spouting.

Bunnyflop · 24/03/2020 22:25

@purpleme12 the bunny says thank you and hello!

I'm in an angry phase now which slightly beats constant anxiety. This thread is my refuge of sensible people, thank you!

Arcadia · 24/03/2020 22:32

I've gone from shock to anxiety to anger, dies anyone know what comes next?!

Arcadia · 24/03/2020 22:32

Sorry DOES!

Bunnyflop · 24/03/2020 22:36

Do you have a meditation app @arcadia ? Stop Breathe & Think is a good one. Will stop your mind going round and round.

Arcadia · 24/03/2020 22:41

My mind isn't going around anymore I'm feeling angry. I don't have time to meditate as I'm trying to homeschool plus support DP NHS worker doing long hours and feed us all and do my job for my firm who are expecting me to do my job at home whilst dealing with all of the above with no equipment !!!
Sorry I know I sound like a total arsehole but I am usually a nice person - honestly!

Arcadia · 24/03/2020 22:59

Sorry @Bunnyflop and everyone I will come back positive tomorrow morning I promise! Anyone doing the Joe Wicks workout at 9? Me and DD are!

purpleme12 · 24/03/2020 23:24

@Bunnyflop he is just too adorable!

tobee · 25/03/2020 00:04

Not really got round to thinking about proper exercise yet! It's good for mental health as well, don't it?

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 25/03/2020 02:02

I’m spending far too much time on Facebook than is healthy or good for me. This thread is such a breath of fresh air.

tobee · 25/03/2020 02:14

My Facebook is ok. Talking to family less good. Sad

Millie2013 · 25/03/2020 06:08

Morning all Flowers We’re another day closer to this crap being over Flowers

I’ve half sorted some homeschooling stuff for DD today, so that feels good. We’re enjoying on like coffee breaks (pets welcome too) at work and it’s lovely to “see” everyone. I think my mum (she lives with us) and DD might do some more gardening today, after their PE lesson

I joined them both for lunch on the patio yesterday, it was lovely and warm ☀️Hoping to do the same today

Sorry, waffle 😂 Just trying to think of the good stuff
