@StCharlotte I just googled new dawn rose, it looks beautiful!

Had a horrific experience in the Sainsbury’s local this morning. Half the shop was cordoned off so the staff could restock in isolation, which I understand but I couldn’t buy bigger all. And this arsehole shouted at this woman for walking too close to him and then he gave me stink eye when I asked him to move a little so I could go past. Then the fucker walked past me at the distance of about 2 inches! Wanker. Sorry, rant over. I was shaking with anxiety when I left and popped to the mini marks instead which was thankfully dead and really well stocked. Got home and took myself off to sit in bed alone with a big bowl of weetabix choc chip. The sunshine is coming in the windows so hopefully the day will improve.

Where is the corona-free zone on here?

Spacecadetagain · 26/03/2020 09:42

Morning everyone .. it’s a beautiful day here and there was clear evidence this morning that my garden hedgehog has come out of hibernation which made me smile 😊

Millie2013 · 26/03/2020 09:52

Hugs bunny, some people will always be dick heads, worldwide pandemic or not

I’m sitting on the patio checking work emails, I’ve found a sunny spot and I’m wearing a fleece and hugging a hot water bottle. The birds are very chatty, must remember to feed them later

Alsohuman · 26/03/2020 09:55

Would anyone else like to have a positive mental health thread even when this is all over? I would

Brilliant idea, yes please. And I’ve been musing for a few days how lovely it would be to meet up in person when we come out the other side. I feel as if I know some of you - I’m cooking your recipes (thanks for the potato farls, spudlet), listening to your music, enjoying your gardens and pets - I’d love to see your faces and hear your voices.

Spudlet · 26/03/2020 10:00

@Alsohuman I’m going to make those today too, I think! If DS will allow it - he’s in a highly naughty mood today. He keeps trying to turn the router off at the wall and all sorts 🙈

I hope we can keep this going, and maybe even meet up one day too. This is my favourite internet place at the moment. It’s making everything that much more bearable.

@spudlet thank you! I just joined in the discussion.

Bunnyflop · 26/03/2020 10:11

This thread is such a breath of fresh air.

Alsohuman · 26/03/2020 10:58

It’s what this place should be - women supporting one another. It’s my safe haven.

tobee · 26/03/2020 11:15

Morning all!

Been catching up on this thread. If a positive mental health thread is set up, who will do it and when? We don't want to forget!

I loved the mindfulness thread but haven't seen an activity there for a bit?!?!?

Bunnyflop · 26/03/2020 11:19

I will remember to set it up! When the time comes I will put it in the mental health chat area.

What is everyone doing? I am sat on the bed having a cup of chamomile tea with the sun streaming in the window. Got five mins to myself thank god. I love this mug!

@toobee I started the mindfulness thread but it's gone a bit quiet! I'm a bit busy but will try and post some bits there later.

Love love love this thread it's a lifeline!!!

Arcadia · 26/03/2020 11:25

Sorry that was @tobee

Siameasy · 26/03/2020 11:25

Morning another glorious day in the south east.
I work in London suburbs and can report that despite the Daily Mail stirring up fear it was dead out there. People are in the majority paying attention which means there is an end in sight.
DD is winding me up so off to plant some seeds with her

Millie2013 · 26/03/2020 11:56

I don’t trust the daily fail not to photoshop people in 🙈

MortyFide · 26/03/2020 12:17

DH has been up a ladder patching up and painting our soffits and fascias - they need replacing but we've moaned about them for 3 years without ever wanting to pay for the job to be done it's a gazillion pounds, so now he's bought us another year or two by repairing them instead! They look good. He has to have something to do, he's like a caged animal otherwise.

I sat on the foot of the ladder in the sunshine with the puppy on a short lead - our front garden is open and there is a footpath running alongside it leading to the field, but there is a good 5 metre gap so we could still say hi to passers-by without breaching any rules and the puppy can still see a bit of life coming and going (sad that no one can touch him of course, but that's ok - he can learn that he doesn't have to greet EVERYONE).

I want to do some stuff in the garden but I need compost to move my artemisia to a bigger pot. Wonder if I can convince B&Q that it's essential for our survival...

Spudlet · 26/03/2020 12:32

Hmmm, not too pleased with my potato bread - bit too much potato and not enough bread! We’re having them as fried potato cakes with some fish for dinner instead. Waste not and all that.

I have had my first request from the village volunteers group! A vulnerable person down my road wants to pick a paper up for them. Planning to cycle to the shop, so I get a bit of exercise and save taking the car onto the road. 👍

Hello, please can I joing you. I've been lurking and reading. I was briefly on a couple of other threads but they just drive my anxiety.

Anyway - I have a lovely story from this morning. My very elderly parents who live about half an hour away from me have some lovely neighbours looking out for them. They have a Whatsapp group I am on, on their behalf and this morning their next door neighbour asked if her teenage son could go around into my parent's back garden and play his guitar for them (while they sat in their conservatory). She said it would motivate him with his practice as well! They went round and played the 'Hovis' theme tune for them!

Mum in return showed him the Diamond Wedding Anniversary card they received this morning from the Queen, through the glass!!

I'm having to self isolate at the moment because of a cough but looking forward to when I can see them from the back garden myself!

Bunnyflop · 26/03/2020 13:06

@pebble21uk what a lovely story!!!

Alsohuman · 26/03/2020 13:32

Great story Pebble, that’s really lovely.

Arcadia · 26/03/2020 13:36

Desperate for any positive news stories but scared to look at news. Please post any links here!

HonestlyItsFine · 26/03/2020 13:47

Good news: the telegraph is going to post a daily round of good news every weekday from 12:30- yesterdays: www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/03/25/coronavrius-positive-new-daily-round-up-good-news/
And, despite it being the telegraph you don't need to log in! I will be checking that thread every weekday, and no other media (apart from the 6pm news).

I'm probably not going to be around much anymore- I'll try to drop in and post as I can but just wanted to say how much I appreciated these threads and how sane they have kept me!

Roussette · 26/03/2020 13:50

Pebble21uk that is heartwarming.

Spacecadetagain · 26/03/2020 14:00

@HonestlyItsFine . thank you for the positive stories link 😊
