So far I’ve thought of:

Drug addicts that normally shop lift to get money, what will they do?

People living a double life, they’ll have to choose one family to isolate with.

Err that’s all I can think of, but surely there’s more?

Shadenfreuden....it's not just other people who you clearly don't care about, that could die. .you and your might be asked to vacate the planet too. Does that change your selfish viewpoint? My friend, you need some new testament reading time on compassion and love for your fellow humans.

who let the Americans in?

DGRossetti · 25/03/2020 15:41

Herd immunity isn't bollocks. It's just that the method of getting to herd immunity that was proposed

That's what I was trying to say (assuming catching C-19 gives you immunity to it ...)

alloutoffucks · 25/03/2020 15:59

Herd immunity is a term taken from vaccination programmes.
Letting a virus ravage through the public and see who is left alive at the end is a very different concept.

DetroitLake - is this directed at me? Can you let me know what I've said that has given you the impression that I don't care about people?

Is it because I said nature will renew if we, as a species disappeared? It would. doesn't mean I want anything nasty to happen to anyone.

PotholeParadise · 25/03/2020 16:20

It's not like it works. Otherwise measles, mumps, rubella, smallpox and polio would have eliminated themselves.

Stupidanduseless · 25/03/2020 17:00

No but does locking everyone away work either? Unless it’s forever? That virus will still be out there. We are all getting it.

ellanwood · 26/03/2020 15:59

@Stupidanduseless - I thought the idea was not that we could stop it but that we would manage the speed of its growth. If fewer people get it all at the same time then those who are badly affected have better chance of recovery, with effective treatment and equipment. Also, they are delaying its spread while they speed-search for a vaccine/cure.

Brazilian waxes will go out of fashion

HollySideEyes · 26/03/2020 18:33

If DH complains - go elsewhere
Oh wait you can’t 😂😂

TheJoyofBeingSingle · 26/03/2020 23:45

People will forget what hangovers are because they will be rationing their alcohol so they don't run out.

HelgaHere1 · 27/03/2020 07:09

There will be some bad driving about as people cannot get to their optician for a checkup.

JudyCoolibar · 27/03/2020 07:21

I wonder if people will go to their GPs less, as a result of having discovered for themselves that an awful lot of minor illnesses really do clear up by themselves.

JudyCoolibar · 27/03/2020 07:28

More meetings being held online, as people have discovered how to do it and how much travelling time it saves.

AFCorona · 27/03/2020 07:55

@susandelgado

NC for this. Nearly a year into recovery. These are really testing times for me. I am in NO doubt that if Iockdown had happened a year ago this could well have been me.

Sihaya · 27/03/2020 08:33

In future movies and TV shows, people who aren't from the same household will be shown 2m apart and not shaking hands/slapping each other's backs etc.

They may have a nostalgic montage intro a la Call the Midwife showing life before coronavirus.

Sihaya · 27/03/2020 08:59

Just thought of another one:

Once testing is perfected (e.g. via breath test), this will be mandatory for entrance into gyms, nightclubs, restaurants, offices and airports

FlamingoAndJohn · 27/03/2020 09:07

There will be lots of tedious self congratulatory articles in the Guardian and the like about how people got to know their children/partners/selves better; how they became amazing cooks with store cupboard ingredients or how they are now home schooling full time.

LouQoo · 27/03/2020 16:33

@Siameasy

Me too! 😂😂😂

DGRossetti · 27/03/2020 16:39

You can brew 5 gallons of beer in 7 days ...

cluckingcluck · 27/03/2020 16:42

People will be desperate for an empty house again so they can masturbate in peace Smile

madcatladyforever · 27/03/2020 16:48

The virus will mutate and turn people into zombies.

Or there will be an increase in attendance at boarding schools, a crasy increase in attendance at restaurants and the use of take aways, and home schooling will be a thing of the past.
