Anyone actually stayed at home?

Has anyone just stayed home, not gone out anywhere today?

I’ve kept myself to myself, been back to my empty home (caring for Df) to collect a couple of things

Not been anywhere else, no shopping, no going to the park etc

It’s not easy, but I want to keep safe

@Duchessofblandings why so annoyed? Yes people are going out too often and for stupid reasons but people are allowed out once a day for fresh air its not an excuse to stay in and stuff your face all day

CoronaVera · 24/03/2020 10:40

Of course. I've been at home since Sunday without going out at all. A volunteer shopper dropped some fresh produce off without any social contact yesterday - this has all been organised officially through the community council and local voluntary council.

I might need to go to work this week (NHS) but I have everything I need at home to work from home and I'm spending my day off today resting.

GenxfeellikeaBoomer · 24/03/2020 11:18

Yes im glad i have prepped since the monent this was on the news 10/1

Duchessofblandings · 24/03/2020 12:30

Raaaa

Because two of my loved ones will without a shadow of a doubt die if they contract this because idiots continue to ignore advice. A third will likely become e friendly unwell.

Do pardon me for being “annoyed”

Why on earth is the alternative to exercising outside staying in and “stuffing your face”?

Duchessofblandings · 24/03/2020 12:31

Extremely

maddy68 · 24/03/2020 12:35

Yes. Not even going for food we can manage.

HoffiCoffi13 · 24/03/2020 12:38

I have not been out for 12 days due to a household member having symptoms. Why on earth would that mean I’ve ‘stuffed my face’? I’ve done home workouts, been on my exercise bike daily and eaten healthily like I normally do.

Egghead68 · 24/03/2020 13:01

I have not been out since midday on 11th March except for a trip to A&E last night. Probably got infected with everything now.

alreadytaken · 24/03/2020 14:57

Today yes - may not even take the one permitted walk. Feel stir crazy as we've been social distancing for quite a while anyway. There are not enough ventilators for everyone who will need them.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 24/03/2020 15:15

We will be going out daily just for some exercise and fresh air, unless we become unwell. We have a large field opposite our house that is usually empty of people so we can go there without coming into contact with anyone. We only stay for about half an hour but it gets DS out for a little bit. We live in a flat with no garden, if we had a garden we wouldn't do this.

Also going out for food shopping twice a week. That's it.

NoMorePoliticsPlease · 24/03/2020 15:18

I have not been out for 7 days, am taking this very seriously

FlockofGulls · 24/03/2020 15:32

Has anyone just stayed home, not gone out anywhere today?

I did not leave the house from Friday at around 3pm until yesterday at 5pm-ish to go for a run. I won't leave the house until tomorrow for another run.

I may have to go to the supermarket for some supplies on Friday.

I have family in Germany who are in lockdown and keep saying how mad the UK is - and that we'll be like Italy in a couple of weeks. I don't want to get this virus - I'm on the edge of a risk group (over 55 with controlled asthma), and have no-one to look after me.

Stay home, people!

Ohchristmastreeohchristmastree · 24/03/2020 15:36

Yes. Dog walk only and we’re allowed to do that.

TheGreatWave · 24/03/2020 15:36

I went out yesterday to pick up some food, I went when I had finished my work (WFH) Sainsbury's was really empty and I got what I needed. Thankfully I am fully stocked for this week at least so no need to go there.

We are planning a walk when I finish tonight, but it will literally be the streets.

bluechameleon · 24/03/2020 15:38

We've been self-isolating since last Thursday so haven't been past the front garden since then. Oh, except one time I needed something from the car so went after dark to avoid meeting anyone.

silentpool · 24/03/2020 15:43

I went out at 6:30am for a walk. But you see very few people out at that time so I do not come anywhere near anyone.

Roselilly36 · 24/03/2020 15:59

Yes us, been home for nearly a fortnight, I have an autoimmune condition, so the most sensible thing for us to do.

teenagetantrums · 24/03/2020 16:12

I have been to work and back. My DP has been to the shop to get stuff for elderly neighbors and wine for us. Normal day here really.
Tomorrow I'm off will probably shop then stay at home . DP will be working. Our lives not really changed although we now thinking maybe we should be excercising once a day as everyone else seems to be. We both key workers.

AlexaAmbidextra · 25/03/2020 00:47

Our lives not really changed although we now thinking maybe we should be excercising once a day as everyone else seems to be.

Do you normally exercise once a day?

teenagetantrums · 25/03/2020 05:51

No . I'm on my feet for up to 12hours a day so no excersing after work. Sorry the above was supposed to be light-hearted we not really going to start going for a walk after work just because Boris said we can.

Kintsugi16 · 26/03/2020 03:34

I seem to be out quite a bit. All valid reasons. I need to try and minimise it somehow though.

Thepigeonsarecoming · 26/03/2020 03:40

I walked the dog and then came home and went to the pharmacy for my prescription. It was one in one out and pretty scary, it’s attached the the gp surgery. At one point a nurse went running through for ‘supplies’, now idea what was needed but she sped out with a bag full??? I didn’t know gp surgeries would be treating people in any serious situation, I assumed an ambulance would be called

PennyArcade · 26/03/2020 03:51

I took the dog for a walk today - the first time for 14 days as I have been poorly. I saw more people out walking than I’ve ever seen. Maybe Boris should continue to tell everyone to stay indoors then everyone will demand their outdoor exercise time. We will become a fitter nation 💪

sashh · 26/03/2020 04:22

I have. I did pass a bag of coloured pencils and craft bits to my neighbour who has 2 children isolating with her. We had a text conversation.

I've also got a cold.

My carer has been, but we are cutting down his visits.

sam221 · 26/03/2020 04:28

I haven't read the whole thread, but I have been isolating for about 13 days so far. I had my elderly mother move into my house, she has few conditions and this virus would kill her. I also have a few other family members that I have invited to stay with me, so I have a bit of a full house but I am grateful we are all together and staying in.
We literally just go into the garden for fresh air and I am a lifelong preparer (plus Brexit uncertainty aided my pantry).
We will make do with what we have and I have arranged a contactless food delivery in a few weeks time.
I am taking this as seriously as I can for my family and am so grateful to all the key workers doing their job in this dangerous situation.
Stay safe everyone.
