Anyone actually stayed at home?

Has anyone just stayed home, not gone out anywhere today?

I’ve kept myself to myself, been back to my empty home (caring for Df) to collect a couple of things

Not been anywhere else, no shopping, no going to the park etc

It’s not easy, but I want to keep safe

I am walking every day, but not near anyone else (we are on the edge of a rural area). I have just had hip replacement surgery and I want to strengthen my wasted muscles. If I thought I was putting anyone in danger, I would stop.

Jaxhog · 22/03/2020 22:33

I'm on my 9th day at home. DH has a bad cold and I'm in a vulnerable group. But unless I can get an online shopping slot, I'll have to go out to the supermarket. Our local supermarkets are all very crowded at all times, especially during the 'elderly' hour.

spiffing · 22/03/2020 22:34

Nope, ICU nurse, been at work for the last 7 days straight, and on the next 3 too. This shit's getting real, thanks for staying home.

Silentplikebath · 22/03/2020 22:37

I’m in a higher risk group. I haven’t been out in nearly three weeks and I don’t plan to go out for several months. All shopping is delivered here and left outside and anything I can’t get I will do without. I’m expecting my hair to look like Tom Hanks in castaway by the time I venture out again!

thenightfury · 22/03/2020 22:41

Go to work and back again. That's it. Work in a supermarket so buy food while I'm at work. Hard with a little one but got lots of activities ready for him

oncemorewithfeeling99 · 22/03/2020 22:41

Yes, I have totally and entirely stayed at home and will do for another 12 days (on day 2!). After that will try to find some empty countryside for a walk but otherwise continue to be careful as someone in my family is particularly vulnerable and where we live has had a lot of cases.

stickerqueen · 22/03/2020 22:42

Since schools closed I've not been out will have to go out Tuesday for food, not been able to get a delivery slot.

caringcarer · 22/03/2020 22:43

I am in vulnerable group so have to self isolate from Friday. Dh is too but only for 6 weeks as post operative. We have been in garden as sunny. Having to walk dog round and round garden for 15 mins. Lucky only small dog and large garden. Wondering how long before I go stir crazy. Dh is still sleepy due to meds so ok for him.

Peta11 · 22/03/2020 22:45

Me!
We have been home since thursday before last. My husband has been to corner shop twice and is working from home .
Happy Mothers day to you all xx

StandingStrongForNow · 22/03/2020 22:46

I stayed in all weekend along with DH and DD but off to work tomorrow. I’m not a key worker and I have full home working facilities but my boss won’t let me work from home. My mum is 86 and only has me to care for her so it’s making me tearful that I could infect her.

Boozeless · 22/03/2020 22:46

Not been anywhere since Friday afternoon. DH started showing symptoms from late Friday night & has been up & down like a yo-yo a bit with it. He is currently feeling very ill lying on the sofa with a temperature. Sad We are stuck inside for 14 days now & will be eating canned crap & noodles if our neighbours don't manage to get us a few bits.

Oopsinamechangedagain2020 · 22/03/2020 22:47

We all stayed home today and spent time in the garden. I feel we are lucky to have a garden at the moment with 3 young children and a dog!

Yesterday I did pop to the bakers... it was the only place that had bread and apparently (fb posts) the big supermarkets were rammed. No one was keeping 2 metres apart though! Which was worrying. We also went to the park as we have a puppy whip needs to have a good run around and see other people, dogs etc. Luckily the park was quiet and we viewed other people and dogs from a distance. There were a few children in the playground bit but we just told our children we were there to play with the puppy and not for the playground which they were fine about. I never said they weren't allowed on the playground but I knew if I did they would want to go! 🥴🤪🤣

alreadytaken · 22/03/2020 22:49

only going out when we need food and would not do that if we could get a delivery slot ,

Blimeyoreilly2020 · 22/03/2020 22:50

Me! Need to get milk & some fresh veg tomorrow but that’s it. Anyone happily carrying on can either happily laugh at me in 3 weeks or know that their actions have collectively contributed to what should be an unacceptable death toll. Boris believes in individual responsibility and abhors the nanny state....but now the population are demonstrating themselves to be so selfish & thick he’ll have to instigate a proper lockdown😔....could’ve been avoided which is a shame - for us & on us.

NoMoreDickheads · 22/03/2020 22:51

I plan to wander round the streets quite often playing Pokemon. Will try and keep 2m from others.

Food shop as needed/wanted but will try to go in and out as quickly as possible.

Seeing a couple of people but that's it.

notangelinajolie · 22/03/2020 22:51

Me. I've not been out since 12th March. I don't go out much anyway so no big deal for me. I like my home bubble.

Murinae · 22/03/2020 22:53

Stayed at home since Tuesday. I’m in the vulnerable group and the uni where I work has closed completely. Have large garden though so have been out weeding and tidying up

Hadenoughofitall441 · 22/03/2020 22:56

Well I took my dog for a quick walk literally round the block so she could see and back again. Otherwise no not left the house for anything else

MovingTowardsANewPositivity · 22/03/2020 22:56

Me. I have been in the house/garden since 4pm on Tuesday apart from a brief 20 minute walk in the countryside with my (lived with) family on Friday afternoon.

I am seriously socially isolating with my three children for the foreseeable future as I fall into the vulnerable group and dh is a key worker so still working, so we are trying to minimise our risk as much as possible.

TheLadyAnneNeville · 22/03/2020 22:57

Me. I will venture out very carefully to a)walk the dog and b)obtain food/medicine.

elfycat · 22/03/2020 22:58

Haven't left the house in a week, as we're isolating thanks to DD1's probably cold. We've been in the garden fixing a fence blown down over winter and planting the herb seeds that are sill in date. I have delusions of home-educating grandeur that the DDs are going to learn play biology in the next few weeks. If not we'll still have chives and parsley to add to the dinners I'll be attempting.

DH went for a short cycle ride, not going near anyone. He's the only one going stir-crazy. The rest of us are lazy sods good at this isolation thing. He's back to work on Wednesday. He'll be away for 3 week - offshore in a job that can't be put on hold.

I'm planning to shop once a week and drop by a supermarket and farm shop and get what I can for that week. I have enough for maybe another week, but having isolated once I need a bit of fresh produce to keep a healthy diet and in case we need to go again. Not stock piling, not even trying to catch back up but just enough for another week at a time. I hope the food is out there on Thursday.

DH wants to take the DDs for a walk tomorrow. He's promised not to get out the car if there are swathes of people, and will instead go 'twat spotting' with the kids before driving home. Hint: don't be a twat and they won't count you.

middleager · 22/03/2020 22:58

Me.

Tesco has cancelled the slot I booked three weeks ago, without so much as an email, which will force me out.

Do not rely on home delivery!

elfycat · 22/03/2020 22:59

sorry, very tired and been typing all day. still not sill. plant not play

Bookworm83 · 22/03/2020 23:00

I've not left the house since the 7th March.

SoleBizzz · 22/03/2020 23:00

Had to pop to the shop. They serve through a hatch and you stand outside. Two selfish thick pricks were right next to me when I turned around. I hate them for it. What can I do to get away
