Anyone actually stayed at home?

Has anyone just stayed home, not gone out anywhere today?

I’ve kept myself to myself, been back to my empty home (caring for Df) to collect a couple of things

Not been anywhere else, no shopping, no going to the park etc

It’s not easy, but I want to keep safe

Yes. We've been at home for .. about 10 days now. Kids off school. Out for essential shopping only.

Thescrewinthetuna · 22/03/2020 23:04

On day 10 self isolating. 2 kids 6 & 4. Don’t think they had CV just a cold but took it seriously. Climbing the walls a bit now but making the most of the sunnier days and getting them into the garden.

OhTheRoses · 22/03/2020 23:06

Have been workjng from home since Tuesday but have had to go out daily for food. Had a delivery last weekend and have 10 days' in freezer/store cupboard but no drlivery or click and collect slits here and stores have been picked bare. One day there may be bread, another milk, another veg and hardly any meat. Lots of smoked salmon and anti pasti though and yoghurt, shelves full of it.

MasakaBuzz · 22/03/2020 23:07

I actually have taken my dog out 3 times today to the local parks. There were very few people about. I live in a small Norfolk town - fortunately not a tourist one. In the course of one walk I went into the local shop to pick up paint and seeds. Both parks and shop are within 500 yards of my house.

I am expecting to get the vulnerable persons letter on Tuesday. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, but it is well controlled. Not sure what I will do in that case. I have to take the dog out. I also need to exercise to keep my joints moving.

2020newme · 22/03/2020 23:09

Only leaving house for essential shopping. Too busy in my area to go for a walk today but hoping tomorrow will be quieter so I can walk and keep an appropriate distance from others.

Songofsixpence · 22/03/2020 23:10

Haven’t been out all weekend except for essential trips

Went out twice yesterday and twice today to our yard to see to our horses. I take the dog up with me and she has a half hour run round their field while I poo pick. Haven’t seen a soul up there all weekend.

Had to call in our horse vet yesterday to pick up some medication for our oldie but they’ve closed the surgery to the public - you have to knock on the door and they poke it out through the letter box

Currently self isolating as baby DS had bronchiolitis earlier this week, but planning to continue after 14 days as long as we can get a delivery slot. Have been 50 yards along the road to post a letter once, at 11 pm. Will be a bit hellish staying at home for months with 3 small DC, but we can do it I reckon.

urright · 22/03/2020 23:13

Home all weekend, tidying and washing, scared to go out. Have to go for food at some point, my heart will be racing. I will wear scarf/mask and gloves as I feel less exposed. Did see a couple of people with masks previously so felt I would do the same.

Last time people weren't keeping a distance and touching things unnecessarily. So frightening, there's no order.
I am so grateful to all supermarket/service/health workers and humbled by their contributions.

Glowcat · 22/03/2020 23:13

Yes, I’ve been staying in. I don’t believe the government’s advice is going to protect my family. What’s happening in Italy is terrifying. They’ve had much stricter rules and the daily deaths from this are still rising.

The risks of dying from covid 19 are low for my age group but when the numbers of people exposed to this are so high that’s still going to mean thousands of people dead.

MyHipsDontLieUnfortunately · 22/03/2020 23:14

Yes, haven't been out since Monday (DS had a cough). I love being at home though, and now we've had the weekend to get organised, this week will be less rushed than last.

Bogg · 22/03/2020 23:14

My family and I have been home since last Tuesday. I did a quick pop to the shops on Saturday evening but that's it. All my in-laws have been at home for the last week, as have my mum, sisters and their families. Some people are taking this seriously. However given the number who are not it is just hardening my incentive to not leave the house unless absolutely necessary.

TheWordmeister · 22/03/2020 23:15

We walked the dog, but that was it. We live in the countryside, so no other people around on our walk.

TheGreatWave · 22/03/2020 23:16

Makes it sound like an illicit drug deal Grin

Did loads of work on my garden, dh popped to his Mum's house to drop a card in and that was all. I spoke to my Mum on the phone, but I never see her on mother's day so no difference there.

In a relieving kind of way MIL has recently had a decline in her mobility, so can't really get out. I am not sure she would listen to anyone telling her to stay in.

C8H10N4O2 · 22/03/2020 23:18

Yes, both of us, both of our sets of siblings, my ageing DM, DC and families also. Only trips out for any of us have been for essentials (medical/food).

Because none of feel inclined to demonstrate Darwin's law or inflict out stupidity on other people when we can survive without doing so.

I can understand the conflict for low paid workers whose shitty employers dont support them, but today I've watched large numbers of people out and about in groups as they walk past our place en route to local outdoor leisure spaces. I have no idea what they have between their ears.

xanthippe8 · 22/03/2020 23:19

Had to go to the pharmacy and vets on Friday, the vets was like getting into fort Knox (they got the 'script wrong, so I had to go through it all again), it took an hour and a half to get served at the pharmacy...crazy times.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 22/03/2020 23:20

Me, DH and dc stayed home...been in the garden all day

MirandaWest · 22/03/2020 23:20

None of us went anywhere today. Had no need to.

LadyGAgain · 22/03/2020 23:22

Leaflet drop for a local covid support group but did not encounter anyone/moved away so always more than 2m.

Rest of the weekend at home with DH and x2 very young kids. Had a lovely time and did new things. It won't be easy but it's necessary and we will make it through.

Iamamoleinthegarden · 22/03/2020 23:32

No I can’t do it I am too active.

I have got to stay at home for 12 weeks as I am in one of those categories.

cherryblossomgin · 22/03/2020 23:42

I've been at home for 6 days because I was symptomatic. I went to the wheelie bin and that was it. I've been fine but I enjoy my own company and being at home.

Songofsixpence · 22/03/2020 23:46

Makes it sound like an illicit drug deal

It did make me laugh. I had to talk to her through a closed door, then she poked a box of drugs out through the letter box. It’s on a fairly busy street, must have looked a bit odd to passers by Grin

Albern · 22/03/2020 23:57

My life is now is home, work with occasional visits to the local shops .
We haven't been out today except the garden, I am now at work and will pop to the local shop on my way home but then not go out again till work on Tuesday.

amandalives · 23/03/2020 00:01

I took a quick walk in the sun, that's it.

copperoliver · 23/03/2020 00:01

Yes not been out since Thursday only to walk the dog, staying away from supermarkets and everything. X

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 23/03/2020 00:03

Yes us. Me and my DH. I’ve been here since Monday. 38 weeks pregnant. My DH is still working as he is in the military but taking everything precaution he can to protect me and and his unborn baby. Garden for fresh air but that’s it
