Ffs neighbours are having a garden party

WTAF!?
Just popped out to hang my washing. My dc joined me for a run around.
Lots of noise coming from the neighbours garden (next door but one). Including a continuous cough.
They’ve got four extra cars parked on their drive.
What’s wrong with people?
Why would people do this?

Might be a silly question but I don’t want to break any rules - can I mow my lawn? Not attached to anyone else’s garden and the lawn is far back from the footpath due to trees and bedding area?

Feelingsupersonic1 · 24/03/2020 11:43

I went to shop, came back and there were 2 kids in our garden who had come round to play with my 10 year old son. I was livid (partly with their parents for allowing them out and partly with my hubby for not having the balls to tell them they couldn’t come in). Had to ask them to leave and give them a note to give to their parents outlining why they shouldn’t be mixing.

We have already been social distancing with kids off school for about 10 days and our youngest son high risk as has cerebral palsy. The 2 boys who came round have been at school all week mixing with other kids so potentially bringing the virus into our house. Angry

@olsi109 Of course you can cut your lawn. You can do as you please in your own garden.

Hanywany · 24/03/2020 13:24

Oh my god so this morning my street seems have had undergone brain removal surgery because clearly no one fucking has one!! All out meandering, walking the dog, socialising close together, also one of the shops has refused to shut its a non essential shop!! So theres people outside that congregating! Unfucking believable! where the fuck are the police enforcing this, oh yes I forgot there isnt enough police to enforce this lockdown!!Envy

Totalfangoolie · 24/03/2020 13:42

I'm sure people are treating this like a jolly jape or extra bank holidays. They absolutely refuse to believe they are in any danger or how seriously they are endangering others...

Oh they are. I’ve been up half the night worrying about which employees might have to leave if our business goes tits - whilst I can see this morning on facebook, they are having BBQs and showing their crates of beer, ones taking their family for ‘exercise’ in a ‘secluded’ forest, probably which will be full of people with the same idea Hmm. The chippy near me is open too - with people in side queuing up ...

A colleague (keyworker) had an isolation party with friends at the weekend. There are no words.

WhatNowFrantic · 24/03/2020 14:57

BackseatCookers · 24/03/2020 16:28

@whatnowfrantic

My adrenaline is through the roof now.

And her husband is recovering from a stroke?! Poor bloke.

What a selfish idiot she is. Talking down to people and actually berating the man for giving a shit about other people?!

FlamingoAndJohn · 24/03/2020 18:18

Silly bloody women. She might be ‘happy to die’ but doctors and nurses will still try to save her.

Does she think that every country in the world is making this shit up?

MinkowskisButterfly · 24/03/2020 18:21

I'd settle for mine having a garden party, but no, my next door but ones were having a bonfire...not like me and my asthmatic lungs wanted to sit in my garden getting some fresh air or anything.

WhatNowFrantic · 24/03/2020 19:56

That radio clip made so angry, sadly, going by what was going on at the weekend in the sunshine, she's not the only stupid idiot out there😤

MinkowskisButterfly · 24/03/2020 19:58

Obviously I wouldn't really be happy for them flouting the rules and socializing, I just said that without thinking as I was so annoyed with the smoke.

Souldancediva · 25/03/2020 08:47

@Mustbetimeforachange
In response to your post & also your response to @PurpleDaisies
Exactly what is hard to understand here ......?

Don't Go Out in a Group....... GO OUT ON YOUR OWN ...............It’s not a Group Walk it’s a go out on your own ......
So you live in The country side , so does my Daughter yet she doesn’t arrange to meet her friends enroute for a Daily Stroll.

This IS REAL LIFE
#StaySafe Stay Home
Really you should not of posted this & saved yourself the bother of defending yourself !

BobbinThreadbare123 · 25/03/2020 15:36

My dickhead neighbours are having yet another garden party. The weather here is really fabulous but they are making it hard for me to WFH and flouting the rules about social distancing. I really wish I could call the police or something. They're the people that spoil the immunity and keep the chain of infection going. They're OAPs as well!

Hanywany · 25/03/2020 16:19

I have got it now thanks to some old cow coughing her guts up everywhere all over the shop, when I went to the shops for bread and milk the other day! Some people are making me livid! Dh has been coughing and felt really tired and my 2 year old looks peaky and been coughing also! Why are people so fucking selfish I feel like opening my front door and screaming for everyone to fuck off home and do as they are fucking told!!!

Nanny0gg · 25/03/2020 18:30

It might be worth phoning the non=emergency line for advice.

If they happen to be in the area...

TheoneandObi · 25/03/2020 18:44

I feel like I'm living in a parallel universe from some people! I'm sticking to rules as I understand them:
Stay in the company of people
In your own household ONLY;
Take outdoor exercise once a day (in my case it's a rural/coastal dog walk) but when you encounter ppl you must give them at least a 2m berth. You may take this exercise with people in your household (which means people you live with):
You may also go out for essential
supplies - food and medicine - but maintain a 2m distance between yourself and others.
It's not hard.

IamHyouweegobshite · 26/03/2020 16:56

I was in absolute shock this morning, I had a really bad asthma attack early morning, I was prescribed emergency meds, going to the chemist which is literally 5mins walk away. I encountered crowds outside Tescos, homeless (they're not actually, they have a house) sitting amongst the queue, children on scooters whizzing in and out the crowds. Drunks shouting and hugging each other. Omg it was like a Friday night. I am not going out again for a long time.

ellanwood · 27/03/2020 21:10

@IamHyouweegobshite - there's still a party atmosphere in lots of places. A path near our house has been decorated all over in chalk drawings telling everyone to remember to smile (hearts/flowers/unicorns.) This is the cut through to the nearest country walk from our village. Some kids must have been out there for ages, blocking the path, not at home and nowhere near 2m away from all the people who head through to the woods.
I've seen kids on rollerskates wobbling around, and a man shoving his terrified young daughter down the rough hill track on her mountain bike. So many potential accidents. Meanwhile the runners still whizz past just inches from the walkers, spitting and heavy breathing as usual.

I'm staying home full stop for a few days. Will find some youtube exercise routines and do them in my garden.

ellanwood · 27/03/2020 21:11

Posted too soon. Meant to say too I hope your asthma cleared up quickly. So scary when that happens.
