Hi all, new thread as we'd neared the end of the other.

I thought it might be useful to list symptoms we are having / have had:

Day 1 - Diarrhea (mild), slight aches and pains
Day 2 - Flu like symptons, achey joints, fatigue, chills, slight cough, slight chest discomfort, upper back ache
Day 3 - Flu like symptons, achey joings, fatigue, chills, slight cough but felt better than Day 3
Day 4 - Perked up, still a slight cough but more energetic, chest 'ache'
Day 5 - Back to flu like symptoms, burning lungs sensation and ache around bra line began, upper back ache
Day 6 - Pains in chest area (intermittent), cough, fever, very heavy achey chest, trouble sleeping, bit breathless, can't lie on my back as painful
Day 7 - Increase of Day 7 symptoms, pains got sharper in chest
Day 8 - Same as day 7, fever, breathless, can't lie on my back
Day 9 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing
Day 10 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing, sore boobs
Day 11 - No fever, felt a bit better, mild chest ache, slight cough

Just tried to be out of bed and supervising kids for a bit with school work... big mistake. Feel unable to do anything really other than lie in bed and occasional trips to bathroom. But do feel like may be starting to be on the mend except the exhaustion...

Sending best to all those struggling with worse 💐

onlinelinda · 27/03/2020 10:21

Why not ask @Spacecadetagain?

Spacecadetagain · 27/03/2020 10:23

@onlinelinda I think I’ve held off as I’m on blood thinners and a lot of antibiotics react with them so that’s scared me a bit but I’ll have to ring the gp I think .. my temp is again too

user34254356 · 27/03/2020 10:24

@spacecadetagain same here with cough and I am on day 10 too based on first day i curled up in bed. I can't seem to do anything today and was much better yesterday. I am just going to start antibiotics - kitchen sink approach

TheWooisStrong · 27/03/2020 10:26

Woke up feeling loads better.
I then cleaned the kitchen, hung out some washing and cut the grass.
Lying down now feeling very dizzy and wiped out - opps.
But there is hope! I’m day 16ish.

Spacecadetagain · 27/03/2020 10:26

Can I ask for those of you that ended up in a and e .. what did they do there ?

Meercatmama · 27/03/2020 10:34

Day 12 for me Woke up feeling ok but did wake up in the night with some coughing. Appetite coming back Had a lovely bath but once again now feel breathless not as bad as yesterday Now resting but am feeling a bit better Hope it continues. Sending my best to everyone this thread has really helped me as it made feel I was not alone

blossombabies · 27/03/2020 10:35

i was given doxycycline. in a&e they did ecg, xray which confirmed chest infection as well as blood which showed my inflammation markers were up.
lower lung pneumonia chest infection.
i was given IV antibiotics and some to take home.

blossombabies · 27/03/2020 10:36

i was also given nebuliser and had numerous ECG as my heart was showing changes, blood confirmed all ok there though.

Needsomegoodnews · 27/03/2020 10:42

Day 11 here since first proper symptoms (fever, tight chest, upset stomach etc). Yesterday felt like I was getting a bit better, lower temp right through the day (have had fever every day except day 4 when I thought it was passing - ha!), able to get up a bit, breathing not as bad, feeling optimistic - now feeling worse again Sad, wiped out, flushed, temp creeping up. Have had antibiotics from GP who thinks this is indeed COVID and secondary infections are a risk but hoped they’d be doing more by now (1.5 days) This is all so frustrating...

Tempnamelady · 27/03/2020 10:46

They’ve given me those doxy ones x

IpanemaGallina · 27/03/2020 10:56

@Needsomegoodnews did paracetamol help your fever. I’m really struggling to stop the shivers.

user34254356 · 27/03/2020 10:58

Day 10- I am totally wiped out again with my resting heart rate again late 80s and early 90s. Not sure what is causing this but it definitely makes me completed floored.

PoorlyWeasels · 27/03/2020 11:02

I was going to start a symptom thread and found this one. I am very rarely ill. I get occasional colds but not flu. I came down with a cold on Tues 17th. Bit annoying at same time as CV, but convinced just a cold. This is how it has progressed.
Tues 17th, day one. Runny nose, sneezing, coughing, sore throat, headache.
Day 2: Feeling worse. Headache gone but coughing worse and just bleh. Called in sick. Feel like whole face ill, IYSWIM.
Day 3: nose dried up, hurrah. Now just coughing. and coughing. and coughing. Message from work that they'd decided I had CV19 and arranged to deep clean my desk. Everyone being told to WFH.
Day 4: felt better. Still coughing but didn't feel ill. WFH full day.
Day 5: still coughing but no other symptoms. Took DD(13) out in the car and went for a walk across fields. Saw zero other people. Stopped at supermarket and sent her in with my card while I stayed in the car. Right ear felt full of wax. Tried to clean with fingertip and gone deaf in that ear.
Day 6: Drove DD to grandma's house and posted cards through door/left flowers on step. Spoke to grandma on phone. Went to usually deserted place for walk and full of people. Kept away from them. DD went to pharmacy for ear drops.
Day 7: still coughing, deaf in one ear. Drops not working. Felt OK. WFH
Day 8: WFH. Cold symptoms coming back - runny nose, headache, sore throat. Still deaf. Painful ulcers on tongue.
Day 9: WFH. OK in morning but feeling worse as day went on. Coughing so much and for so long I wet myself. Had to dig out sanitary pads (I'm 56 - don't use them). Nose running, headache, sore throat. Glands up under jaw. Signed off early and went for a bath. By evening feeling really ill, so went through NHS 111 symptom thing. Told online got CV, downloaded isolation note. s/w boss by text and told them going sick again. Went to bed at 8:30pm.
Day 10: Stayed in bed all day with windows open. Felt a bit better but sore throat back, blowing nose constantly and still coughing.Still having to use pads. Both ears feel "full" but no wax coming out. Noticed bruises on both forearms. Odd taste in mouth.
Day 11: today. sore throat, glands up, thumping headache over left eye. Sniffing but nose not running. Still deaf in one ear and limited in other. Feel not right still. Slight back pain on left side (only) by bra strap.

If this is a cold it's the longest one I have ever had. DH, adult DS continuing to work (supermarket), no symptoms. DD no symptoms.

Spacecadetagain · 27/03/2020 11:03

@user34254356 it seems to lull you into a false sense of security doesn’t it before knocking you out again
@blossombabies Thank you . I do get a lot of sinus infections and usually get doxycycline for that but I can’t have that with my blood thinners . A lot of antibiotics react with them

Needsomegoodnews · 27/03/2020 11:06

@IpanemaGallina - no paracetamol hasn’t really done anything for me. I’ve taken it a few times as doctors recommend for the fever but it never came down with it unfortunately.

Spacecadetagain · 27/03/2020 11:06

Oh should add that my stomach upset is back too

IpanemaGallina · 27/03/2020 11:11

Thanks needsome I’m trying cold compress now.

stayathomegardener · 27/03/2020 11:15

Day 15.

Key thing I think is when you start to feel better. Keep resting! It just flares up again chest burning, pain etc and then I get so anxious. Horrible.

Spacecadetagain · 27/03/2020 11:29

@Needsomegoodnews it can take 48 hours for the antibiotics to kick in .. so time yet

TiddleTaddleTat · 27/03/2020 11:31

@stayathomegardener relieved to hear that. I'm also on day 15 and have felt gradually better since about day 7. But yesterday I went for a walk (about 30 mins) and did some demanding WFH and Ive had a flare of fever this morning and extreme fatigue all over again. Scared I could have re-contracted it.

longshot · 27/03/2020 11:40

@TheWooisStrong we are about the same. Day 17 here, definitely still feel wiped out and Ill but intermittently normal now. Chest tightness and breathlessness there but not terribly so. Trying to rest as much as I can. First day I’ve not taken paracetamol as have run out and I think I’m going to have a lemsip to compensate.

Spoke to GP this morning, she did an oxygen level test which may be useful for some of you, count to 30 as fast as possible. I needed to take only one breath in the middle which she says means I am oxygenated. Maybe worth a google.

Just wondering, did anyone else have a wierd 'bubbling' feeling in their chest?
I've had a sore throat for over a week, 2 days ago started with a headache and mild nausea. Yesterday began coughing, but productive, so I though just a cold.
Today I'm getting some stomach pain and chest tightness, but also a very wierd feeling of bubbling up under my breast, it feels like when you're just starting to get movement from a baby in utero. It's very distracting.

Spacecadetagain · 27/03/2020 11:57

@wejammin yep I’ve had that right under my ribs

Spacecadetagain · 27/03/2020 11:59

@longshot I just did the count to thirty thing.. needed to draw a breath at 24 .. ai hope that’s good !
