Hi all, new thread as we'd neared the end of the other.

I thought it might be useful to list symptoms we are having / have had:

Day 1 - Diarrhea (mild), slight aches and pains
Day 2 - Flu like symptons, achey joints, fatigue, chills, slight cough, slight chest discomfort, upper back ache
Day 3 - Flu like symptons, achey joings, fatigue, chills, slight cough but felt better than Day 3
Day 4 - Perked up, still a slight cough but more energetic, chest 'ache'
Day 5 - Back to flu like symptoms, burning lungs sensation and ache around bra line began, upper back ache
Day 6 - Pains in chest area (intermittent), cough, fever, very heavy achey chest, trouble sleeping, bit breathless, can't lie on my back as painful
Day 7 - Increase of Day 7 symptoms, pains got sharper in chest
Day 8 - Same as day 7, fever, breathless, can't lie on my back
Day 9 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing
Day 10 - Feverish, exhausted, achey limbs, chest easing, sore boobs
Day 11 - No fever, felt a bit better, mild chest ache, slight cough
Day 12 - today, exhausted, no fever, chest easing

@squashedflybiscuit

I wish that testing was available too. I actually cried earlier about all this. I can’t believe I’m alone in doing that either.

SquashedFlyBiscuit · 22/03/2020 09:52

My tickly cough has gone and i felt a lot better last night but chest feels tighter and i feel more weary this morning. Have o2 thing so know inhave oxygen. Im asthmatic and terrifed of it getting worsw.

blossombabies · 22/03/2020 09:55

lets see how today goes. im thinking of calling my GO tomorrow to see if i could maybe get some antibiotics incase i have a cheat inf as its impossible to diagnose anything at the moment. my symptoms seem to be in and off throught the day but breathing is worse at night.

AppleBlossomTimeNow · 22/03/2020 10:00

I'm on day 11 - thought I was feeling better on day 5/6, but yesterday my temperature shot up again & my chest was wheezy & crackly so rang 111. Doctor diagnosed CV over the phone & prescribed antibiotics to get rid of upper respiratory tract infection. I feel so drained & tired. Advice for people who think they are through the worst is not to overdo it - it can come back & hit you harder in a second wave of symptoms. Take care x

tempestterra · 22/03/2020 10:06

doretcamping I can't speak for anyone else on here, but when I came down with cv my ds moved out of his room and has camp bed in DDs room. Dh moved out of our bedroom and is in ds room. I'm quite well away from them. I message dh to let him know when I'm coming down stairs! and he leaves me a small amount of fruit (it's all I can managed to eat) and a glass of water. He gets DC away by taking them into living room. I'm washing my hand constantly, and washing any glasses before putting them in dishwasher.
The hardest thing for me is not being able to cuddle my DC. But I FaceTime them everyday....crazy heh? But thank goodness for technology!

No testing so no diagnosis but symptoms match for CV19. I've also had flu in the past and other viral infections, non have ever been like this.

Starmer · 22/03/2020 10:10

But how many of you have actually had a positive test result? I think threads like this just add to the scaremongering - if you haven’t had an actual diagnosis (and certainly those of you on antibiotics haven’t) then why go posting symptoms and increasing other people’s anxiety? It’s thoughtless and attention seeking.

Bringringbring12 · 22/03/2020 10:14

@stayathomegardener

In your fortnight of illness - you don’t once mention a high temperature or a cough. Do you still think corona nonetheless?

Jerseygaly · 22/03/2020 10:16

Like some others ive found it worse in the evening.
Im also asthmatic so quite worried and like pp worried about damaged lungs. My kids are under 10 i want to be able to run around.

SquashedFlyBiscuit · 22/03/2020 10:18

Starmer most people cant get a diagnosis unless admitted to hospital with complications. Most people will be "mild" although the gov definition of mild includes pneumonia that can be managed at home 🙄.

Isadora2007 · 22/03/2020 10:18

@Starmer which part of “no routine testing” don’t you understand? It’s highly unlikely many people WILL be tested but highly unlikely that people WONT get the virus- so it’s a good bet that many people will have COVID 19 and by sharing their symptoms here may give some others early warning signs so we self isolate earlier than we might have otherwise hence saving the spread or slowing it.
I am finding this thread very useful and send everyone Get Well vibes. Flowers

SubordinateThatClause · 22/03/2020 10:18

@treedragon Hugely anxious lurker here too. I need to read these though as I actually find it helpful to know that for the majority of us, we will feel like crap, but get better.

KayakingOnDown · 22/03/2020 10:19

I have had a diagnosis. I'm on antibiotics because a viral infection (which Covid is) can turn bacterial. There is no treatment for Covid.

We can't get tested because they are only testing people who are hospitalised. But we know that this will affect up to 80% of the population and community transmission has been going on for weeks if not months. Many of us have been diagnose by medical professionals.

This thread is not scaremongering, I have found it very comforting.

Isadora2007 · 22/03/2020 10:21

Can anyone here relate to these as possible early signs? I have had a headache for weeks so can’t count that as new and I have chronic sinusitis so often lose my sense of smell so again can’t really count that as it comes and goes.
But from yesterday I have had chills but no temp (have been taking baseline temps for My family all week) and a tickly cough starting at the base of my throat but I can stop myself coughing as it’s just irritating rather than a need to cough- if that makes sense. I have aches- but did press-ups for the first time the other night and then a hike with a toddler on my back yesterday so am assuming these aches are normal for those activities.
It feels like when you are TTC and end up symptom spotting even though you’re not actually pregnant. 🤷🏻‍♀️

willdoitinaminute · 22/03/2020 10:22

For anyone wondering what the cough is like there is a you tube video posted by Tara Jane Langston who was the 39yr old in ICU. It clearly demonstrates what the cough sound like something that everything is asking about.

GinJeanie · 22/03/2020 10:23

Know the symptoms. The Government guidelines are NOT comprehensive and this is causing confusion and leading people to question the need to self-isolate...

My lungs feel like they are on fire. Anyone else? - Part 2
AvocadoOwl · 22/03/2020 10:23

I'm leaning towards that view too @Starmer.

Ultimately this thread is just people documenting symptoms of a likely myriad of viruses and needs to be taken with an enormous pinch of salt. All the GPs 'diagnosing' over the phone are being cautious to encourage people to isolate and carefully monitor themselves; if it was distinctive enough an illness to spot based purely on verbal descriptions we wouldn't be in the mess we are currently in.

You only have to look at the testing figures to see that there must be plenty of unpleasant common garden variety viruses also doing the rounds.

That said, I get that people find it helpful to compare symptoms. Misery really does love company, sometimes it helps to know you are not alone.

willdoitinaminute · 22/03/2020 10:23

Sorry I don’t have the link but if you google her name you should find it.

blossombabies · 22/03/2020 10:28

i have only been ill twice in my whole adult life, so if im starting to feel unwell, chances are it will be the novel virus i am not immune to rather than a common cold for example?

and i find this thread reassuring not scaremongering at all. we are all adults, we can clearly see whats going on around us in the world.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 22/03/2020 10:31

I've no idea whether I have CV or not - I have a cough, so I'm self-isolating to be on the safe side. I'm not spamming 111 or my GP with calls, and I won't go to hospital unless I actually can't breathe.

I'm being responsible, and I feel utterly dreadful, and yes, honestly, I'm a bit scared. I resent being told I can't even post online for a bit of moral support without being accused of scare-mongering.

GinJeanie · 22/03/2020 10:32

AdvocadoOwl and Starmer - my DH and I most definitely have the same symptoms as mentioned here. I've never had flu or a chest infection before but im some ways this feels like I imagine flu to be. Nobody knows if they have Covid but don't suggest their symptoms are down to psychsomatic... These are unprecedented times and of course, there are still other bugs around too. Whatever we have it's definitely genuine and of course it's a worry in this climate! Please go and lurk elsewhere - this isn't the AIBU board and definitely not a place to be unkind....

onlinelinda · 22/03/2020 10:34

Oh god. We got through a whole thread really helping each other before these new people cane along to critique. Please go somewhere else.

Enough4me · 22/03/2020 10:49

Everyone has the right to post symptoms here and feel some release and support, whether it turns out to be Covid19 or not. As pointed out this is for support not AIBU. For those who want an AIBU on this - go off and create a new thread.

Roostersmum2 · 22/03/2020 10:52

How are you today @onlinelinda

Enough4me · 22/03/2020 10:52

@GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal I'm the same, don't know but SI as have symptoms.

Keep up with SI as if it is covid19 you have reduced spreading it, if it's not covid19 you have rested and not spread something similar - cold/flu.

It's win / win if people who feel ill recover at home Smile

Casino218 · 22/03/2020 11:03

Day 13 now I think. My cough is definitely getting better. I have had asthma at a couple of points in my life and I'm 53 so I just want to provide a little reassurance.

I'm so tired though still and chest hurts like I've been in an accident and had chest constricted.
