Just that really
I am fine no symptoms but am really torn if I should go or not as I also want to support my hairdresser.

What would you do ?

I wouldn't go.

However I've said this to lots of people.

If you are one of the lucky ones who will continue to be employed and would pay for hairdresser or a kids club (guides, cubs etc) please pay them to help them out - but don't attend due to the risk and the facts it's a non essential.

WhiteChocTwix · 20/03/2020 21:37

So sad, my eyebrow lady emailed me tonight to say that's that. I remember when her kids were toddlers and now they're off to uni. She's like a big sister who I just go for a gossip with and never have to tell her what to do. She knows all the shizz going on with my fam. So bloody sad 😢

I don’t think it works like that . You should pay businesses for goods and services.. donations are for charities. Yes it’s awful small businesses face going under but they will do anyway if we are all incapacitated to worse!

itsgettingweird · 20/03/2020 21:43

Although it's also dawned on me my ds will look like the mad scientist in 3-4 months time 😂😂 he needs his cut every 6 weeks as it grows thick and fast.

itsgettingweird · 20/03/2020 21:45

Mrs. I've made the decision not to stop paying the DD for my ds swim training to his club. It's easy. They will continue to get the income. We can stop the dd and start it up again if we want - our responsibility.

EmmaOvary · 20/03/2020 21:57

Roots - I'm ordering some of those root retouch wands to do it myself. Haircuts - i can make do with DIY cuts.

Willow2017 · 20/03/2020 22:16

it is unhygienic and inappropriate to keep your hair uncut throughout that time.
Since when is it unhygenic or inappropriate to not cut your hair every couple of months???

Its fucking inappropriate to put vanity potentially before someones life!

I went to the gym and swimming pool at the club I'm a member at this morning, before having lunch at a cafe with friends and then having my hair cut.
You are having a laugh thats a tick box of all the daft questions re going out on here lately.

LizzieSiddal · 20/03/2020 22:21

I was due for a colour and cut last Thursday but I’ve cancelled.

I’ve got some home dye and I may get desperate enough to get DH to cut it. I’ll look like it’s been hacked but I’m desperate.

thepeopleversuswork · 20/03/2020 22:24

Fucking hell. How long is it going to take people?
No. No non essential contact. Hairdresser is not essential.

goodwinter · 20/03/2020 22:26

Sweet Jesus

McCanne · 20/03/2020 22:26

Unhygienic to not cut your hair? Seriously? I haven’t had a haircut in about 18 months 😂

goodwinter · 20/03/2020 22:30

God forbid someone has to miss a fucking sauna session while people are dying and health services all over the world are on the brink of collapse

Fuck me

chocolatdrink · 20/03/2020 22:33

I'm going to be saving a fortune with not going to the hairdressers.

Can anyone recommend a good hair dye so I can do it myself?

thepeopleversuswork · 20/03/2020 22:34

This is genuinely frightening. We are eventually going to need the army on the streets because people like stormy are not prepared to do the bare minimum of self education and are putting vanity and conformity over the health of an entire society.

GolfForBrains · 20/03/2020 22:53

Cancelled mine for tomorrow morning. They didn't sound surprised. I would love to go but it would make a mockery of all the social distancing we have been doing.

Wish we had DS10's cut last weekend though. He's going to look like Boris when all this is over.

lljkk · 20/03/2020 23:03

I get my hair cut once a year.
End of April is perfect.
I will do that again this yr if I can find someone.
I will be amused if you all don't get your hair cut in the next 18months.

Anniecott · 20/03/2020 23:50

As a salon working hairdresser, our salon is really busy. It's busier than Christmas.
And in answer to the pp about cleaning. We are escorting all clients to the bathroom to wash our hands together before we start, we anti bac literally everything between clients, we wash our hands at every available opportunity. I can honestly say our salons never been cleaner, we will stay open until otherwise told to do so as we cannot afford not to and no it's not my salon, I'm an employee. If clients want to come in we are there for them.

Anniecott · 20/03/2020 23:54

Oh and anyone with even the slightest sniffle has been sent home, which is unheard of. X

NellyGrace · 20/03/2020 23:54

I am fine no symptoms

You might be fine now - but will you be after you've spent however long at the hairdressers? How do you know the hairdresser won't have it?

I've been self isolating for a week. Believe me after you've also been stuck in, seeing no-one for a week and then longer you won't give a damn what your hair looks like.

You will care if you've caught coronavirus though.

alexdgr8 · 20/03/2020 23:57

but its not all only about clean surfaces and washing hands, is it.
it can be spread by invisible droplets spread by ordinary life, talking.

DennisReynoldsDuster · 21/03/2020 00:08

Jesus fucking Christ. There really is no hope for humanity. I’m baffled as to why people don’t seem to understand what social distancing means.

Abracad · 21/03/2020 00:09

I’ve got a suggestion. All the people who want to go out to do non-essential thinks like haircuts and nails and so forth should sign a contract which says if they or any of their family get ill, they will not take an ICU bed or a ventilator from someone who has obeyed the rules. How about that?

Frankiethree · 21/03/2020 00:10

How about men? My DS is working and needs to look presentable.

DennisReynoldsDuster · 21/03/2020 00:10

@lljkk if the situation is that serious that people cannot get their hair cut for 18 months I don’t think you’ll be amused... far from it in fact

RiftGibbon · 21/03/2020 00:13

For those saying that the vulnerable should self-isolate...what about housebound people, autistic people, single frail people, very elderly people? What about those who have nobody - no friends or family? How can they get any food or medication?
Nobody NEEDS gel nails, lash extensions and hairdressing appointments.
