I won't but a lot of people are saying they are and it's still open so they are going etc.

Lots of people I know still are.frightening. I can only assume the only answer is for the pm to announce a lock down to stop such stupidity.

Dollywilde · 19/03/2020 18:35

We’ve got incentive! Tonight I’m going to the Skype pub with 4 of my friends (we were meant to be going out to dinner this evening but instead we’re all opening a bottle on video call for a catch up) and my book club which is next week has moved virtual as well, we’re all going to make our own nibbles like we would if hosting. I’m looking forward to making a one-woman stash of cheese straws 😁

Dollywilde · 19/03/2020 18:36

*inventive

ShowerTheHorse · 19/03/2020 18:37

My SIL works in a pub and has told me it’s quite busy today. People will keep going as long as it’s open.

dontaskformedicaladviceonmn · 19/03/2020 18:39

No, and I wouldn’t be going even if our house wasn’t SI.

TheSheepofWallSt · 19/03/2020 18:39

They’ll keep going until someone they know dies. Or the numbers become too massive go ignore. Because generally ignorant arseholes like that are incapable of abstract thought or empathy.

Duchessofblandings · 19/03/2020 18:39

In which case, they are morons.

MauriceandAlec · 19/03/2020 18:41

We might get a takeaway delivered on Saturday.

Gertie75 · 19/03/2020 18:41

I'm not although I feel much more at risk at the local supermarket, at our local Morrisons today it was packed, people passing closely in the aisles then at the checkouts we were all squashed up trying to keep our space in the queue then let people through who were walking past.

If I went to a pub with a friend there would be a few feet distance between us across the table and much less people in there.

Lovelydovey · 19/03/2020 18:42

No

Tanfastic · 19/03/2020 18:43

As long as they remain open, the dickheads will keep going.

Herpesfreesince03 · 19/03/2020 18:43

I’m planning on going for a few pints tomorrow. I’m expecting a lockdown in the next couple of days so I’m going out while I can. My kids go to 3 different schools and they’re all still open and they’re attending (and we all have to catch buses to get to them), so I don’t see the point in avoiding the pub. I guess that makes me a stupid, selfish arsehole...

Bluntness100 · 19/03/2020 18:43

No of course not. We aren’t selfish idiots.

lazyarse123 · 19/03/2020 18:44

It'll be the same selfish arseholes who descend like locusts in the supermarkets. Make me feel sick.

Rosehip10 · 19/03/2020 18:45

Pubs, cafe and nandos have all been busy in my zone 3/4 area Angry

RedDiamond · 19/03/2020 18:48

I agree the supermarkets are the most peopled filled places now who may be spreading germs. I have taken the decision not to go for the foreseeable future. I have enough food as I live alone and my little freezer and fridge will keep me going for a few weeks. I am also making my own lunch for work as I don't know who might have sneezed over my pre-packed sandwich!!!

Nononoandno · 19/03/2020 18:49

No....in 2-3 weeks there will be a lot of people who will realize the have acted stupidly when their lungs are burning and filing with fluid

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 19/03/2020 18:52

Absolutely not.

People still going obviously think this is a joke. They probably haven't seen the health workers around the world sharing pictures saying they are staying at work for us so we should stay at home for them. Selfish pricks.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 19/03/2020 18:53

I’m planning on going for a few pints tomorrow

I win...where’s my bogroll

blubellsarebells · 19/03/2020 18:54

I work in a restaurant.
Still open, i wish we could close.
The only people i will be serving are the dense and reckless.
I

Rumnraisin · 19/03/2020 18:54

They are going on a pub crawl...how rebellious and cool of them.

everythingisginandroses · 19/03/2020 18:56

I wish, but best not to spread my (probable) CV about, so no Grin

I feel really sorry for publicans ATM, no idea how they will manage.

Gra18 · 19/03/2020 18:56

I am in London (zone 2/3) and cafes near me had some customers. I felt sorry for them as they are an independent so probably need to stay open until stronger measures come in to close them. I bought take out from them. The guidelines aren’t clear therefore people translate what they mean to suit themselves therefore we have extremes.

SimplySteveRedux · 19/03/2020 18:57

I’m planning on going for a few pints tomorrow.

Suffocation is excruciatingly painful, it's wonderful your stance of a few pints is worth it. I wonder what you'll think when ventilators don't work because lungs are fucked, oxygen supplies run out and the laughably small amount of ECMO units are full.

WiseUpJanetWeiss · 19/03/2020 18:58

I don’t see the point in avoiding the pub. I guess that makes me a stupid, selfish arsehole

Can you really not see the point?
