Totally out of his fucking depth

OP posts:

And I actually want Boris to do a good job. I am willing him to. I want this all to be handled properly. And I am scared of how badly it is being mismanaged.

MarshaBradyo · 20/03/2020 10:21

All I’m a floating voter too it’s fine to not think any are automatically great just because they are from a particular party.

MarshaBradyo · 20/03/2020 10:21

Me too I want him to not fuck it up too

longwayoff · 20/03/2020 10:24

Am I missing something? Everything bad that happens is still obviously the fault of Jeremy Corbyn, the dodgy, terrorist loving red socialist menace, him. And anything good is due to the immensely well educated and highly intelligent Boris Johnson who was elected with a huge majority. The country loves him and has chosen him to Get Stuff Done! Currently channelling Churchill at a tv near you. Good luck with him.

Clavinova · 20/03/2020 10:38

so you can't throw the Corbyn thing at me

I haven't mention Corbyn on this thread - now you are misquoting me.

alloutoffucks · 20/03/2020 10:44

I apologise then Clavinova. I was wrong to say that.

It was obviously others. To those who do this, it is just tiresome.

OverUnderSidewaysDown · 20/03/2020 12:49

Scottish Government press conference (First Minister plus Chief Medical Officer) currently on BBC1 Scotland, showing how a press conference should be done.

TheSandman · 20/03/2020 13:02

Me too I want him to not fuck it up too

Me too. I loath the guy and the Tory party as a whole. If they screw this up badly people you know will die painful deaths dead. Of course I want him not to fuck it up.

You may hate the pilot but you want him to land the fucking plane without crashing.

defthand · 20/03/2020 13:03

All the right messages from the Scottish gov. 👍

I just watched Donald Trump's press conference from yesterday. Good grief, you should be thankful for Boris.

I think he is very very good at delegating to experts, which is exactly what he should be doing. He IS out of his depth on all the medical data BUT thank god he doesn't even pretend to know it, he passes it over to the people who do.

I think that shows decent leadership. He knows full well the buck stops with him.

alloutoffucks · 20/03/2020 13:17

No you don't as PM delegate to experts. That is not his job.

Experts do not always agree. Experts are also usually experts in a narrow area. So you are saying he is consulting virologists, educationalists, logisticians, behavioural psychologists, etc. and just letting them sort it out amongst themselves? Because if he really is that is terrifying.

His job is to listen to experts, and then take and enforce the tough decisions. That is literally what he is paid to do.

PerkingFaintly · 20/03/2020 13:44

Basically, Johnson could be worse.

Because at least he is delegating to experts.

He should be showing leadership and that he understands the words, rather than repeating his latest catchphrase ("The tide will turn") without knowing what it means – if anything.

Lost little boy, silly clown, and empty meme-mongerer are not what we need on the podium right now. We could do with better.

But it could be worse. Trump, for example...

LittleRootie · 20/03/2020 14:52

He IS out of his depth on all the medical data BUT thank god he doesn't even pretend to know it, he passes it over to the people who do.

But that was exactly what he did yesterday. Pretending that it would all be under control in 12 weeks, based on nothing at all and to the clear discomfort of his experts. Basically doing what he always does, - blatant lying to try to make himself look good and no thought of the harm done.

alloutoffucks · 20/03/2020 15:07

He lies all the time. Which is why people don't trust what he says.

LittleRootie · 20/03/2020 15:45

Before this, people voting for him seemed really blase about the lying, 'Oh we all know what Boris is like'. His lies about Brexit and hospitals/police were constantly exposed but he just carried on repeating them and got a massive majority.

It's quite a different matter now.

MarshaBradyo · 20/03/2020 17:43

Better today

robinthikk · 20/03/2020 17:47

Speaks volumes about the politic persuasion of the mumsnet moderators that this thread is still up and running.

StormzyinaTCup · 20/03/2020 17:48

Which is why people don't trust what he says

Is that all people or some people.

It's quite a different matter now

Is it? I’m not so sure

MarshaBradyo · 20/03/2020 17:51

What Robin why?

The irony...

MarshaBradyo · 20/03/2020 18:00
