nonicknameseemsavailable · 18/03/2020 17:08

Oakmaiden - that is very scary

anonacfr · 18/03/2020 17:09

FFS the least they can do is respect the people and show up on time. This is making me irrationally angry.
As if we don't have anything to worry about.

nellodee · 18/03/2020 17:09

I keep this spreadsheet up to date, based on the daily figures. You can also pull it off the wikipedia entry here, which then breaks down on day to day figures for each country.

Breaking news

Ocado has closed website until Saturday

SansaSnark · 18/03/2020 17:13

@Oakmaiden That looks pretty much identical!

MurrayTheMonk · 18/03/2020 17:13

I think he will bow to pressure and shut schools. But nothing else. And that's not enough imo. We really need lock down now.

In care home news, 2 more staff off sick.
Struggling to get enough food in supermarkets to feed 20 people as there is nothing left on shelves.

anonacfr · 18/03/2020 17:13

Ocado have now shut down their website til Saturday

tryingtoprep · 18/03/2020 17:14

Perhaps Boris has locked himself in the loo.

1happyhippie · 18/03/2020 17:14

Thankyou all for the graphs and charts, very helpful to see.
Helpful but terrifying at the same time

Stephen McDonell - 'There’s been an announcement that roadblocks within #Hubei Province to be removed as the coronavirus emergency continues to stabilise there. The exception is #Wuhan city which remains cut off. Also you can’t leave or enter Hubei yet.'

Eeyoresstickhouse · 18/03/2020 17:15

Jesus Italy 😕

RedToothBrush · 18/03/2020 17:16

BBC were saying they think London is some weeks ahead of rest of the UK.

Lynamic · 18/03/2020 17:16

It's too late for a lock down to achieve anything apart from people getting trapped in built up places

SirVixofVixHall · 18/03/2020 17:16

Italy 😢😢😢😢😢😢

goingoverground · 18/03/2020 17:16

You know what's annoying me about that Imperial College report? This was about the research that the govt based it's original response on. Not only did they totally get it wrong by using intensive care usage rates from a totally different virus (so yes, we all DID know better than the experts, thank you very much!).

@nellodee Can you point me to where you found that? The estimates in the Imperial paper for critical care bed requirements all seem to be based on data for COVID-19, according to the references.
