They need to be v careful about making statements and then not fulfilling them.

Jenny Harries ( dep chief med officer ) is on record in the Select Committee investigation on 5 March saying we're currently doing 2,000 tests per day and by 13 March will be up to 10,000.

Ah, apologies. That is what I meant... too used to September denoting the start of the school year! Our English LA actually go back in August this year too!

I agree- I think a lot of time is being spent saying what they think people want to hear, when actually we just want truth and clarity (as far as possible)

I didn't drink any of the wine I've accumulate in the last year so I've no need to buy any I bet people are stocking up though.

If they announce mass school closures then they are going to have to put in place some kind of update for a benefit payment for working parents.

Currently only single parents with a child under 5 can claim income support so they don't have to look for work.

Anyone with a child over 5 needs to claim JSA which you need to prove you are looking for work and take it where it is offered.

HOW can parents do this if they have to be at home to look after children as the schools are shut? Or are the government planning on finding a few million childcare providers in the next few days?

I bought paint today. In preparation for lockdown decorating. OH is a teacher and they are closed to half the year groups now as no staff.
Kids are still in school but I am assuming Friday is last day.

I bloody drank my entire house-stock of alcohol two weeks back for DPs birthday 🙄

On my drive to pick up paint (preordered so just in and out) there were people everywhere. On the streets, in the cafés, loads of people walking about in groups.
And in my town there were loads of elderly people in all the shops.

@BeyondMymymymyCorona my OH asked me to stock up beer for him. But everything limited to 4 max so he's only got 4. He's going to be narked, that's one evenings worth
