Idris either Paid privately or is in America.

Oakmaiden · 16/03/2020 18:37

Our Girlguiding County has just made the decision that all units should close until after Easter. Girlguiding UK don't seem to have made a decision yet (they have probably all gone home).

Petra05
I'm in the same position - although as my BP has always been controlled with medication, I've not been too concerned. Would like clarification though. Going to have a look on the Government website.

Angryrant55 · 16/03/2020 18:39

Steven Swinford - 'Jeremy Hunt says clubs, cinemas and restaurants should be advised to close their doors so there is 'absolute clarity' At the moment people are being advised not to go to them but they are NOT being advised to close'.

LuxLFC · 16/03/2020 18:39

@CricketCrocket from my recollection at some point he specified adults with exsisting illnesses that require flu jab (though I'm seeing so much shite on here from people who clearly didn't watch I'm forgetting what happened & what didn't!)

Rinoachicken · 16/03/2020 18:39

Is there a list yet of the underlying conditions that should self isolate for 12 weeks?

Lynamic · 16/03/2020 18:39

If your child goes to a council school you have to get consent from your local council to take your child out of school - mygovscot

This will be interesting. No sturgeon is not a good leader.

Exochord · 16/03/2020 18:40

How the fuck did Idris Elba get tested if he’s not seriously ill in hospital? It’s obviously one rule for the wealthy and another for the rest of us. Disgraceful.

daffodilsandblossom · 16/03/2020 18:40

I have been nervous of this coronavirus but tonight I am completely full of anxiety. Multiple members of my family will have to self-isolate for 12 weeks and possibly myself due to the flu vaccine eligibility criteria for self-isolating. I really didn't expect it to be this bad. I am thinking of delcaring my car SORN as I won't be driving it for at least three months it seems.

SansaSnark · 16/03/2020 18:41

There's nothing proper in writing yet, but you can re-read Boris' speech here: www.gov.uk/government/speeches/pm-statement-on-coronavirus-16-march-2020

Angryrant55 · 16/03/2020 18:42

Idris looks like he is the Usa going by how americain his house looks.

MustBeDueSomeBetterFeet · 16/03/2020 18:42

@daffodilsandblossom I feel the same. The thing is I'm not sure if they're asking us to self-isolate or to socially distance. This needs to be clear, along with some guidance on different scenarios, ie my older parents look after my young children around school times. My children still go to school. What does this MEAN!!!???

MarshaBradyo · 16/03/2020 18:43

Oh great Sansa thanks

Angryrant55 · 16/03/2020 18:44

Alex Wickham - 'Two immediate issues for govt following that
— unclear advice to over-70s (May and Hunt demanding answers in the Commons: Hancock has now cleared it up)
— unclear why advice against going to bars/restaurants etc is not being enforced and what guarantees businesses will have.'

Sassenach85 · 16/03/2020 18:44

I feel like I’m on the verge here, Wtaf is going on with this govt????

Simple question .... work from home where possible.... why can’t they just say keep kids home if possible???

School staff are completely being thrown to the lions here?

SansaSnark · 16/03/2020 18:45

£375 for a private test if you want one: www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/13/harley-street-clinic-offering-375-coronavirus-private-test

Probably only worth it if you have had known contact with someone who has been infected, but actually if I was in London and I had been in contact with someone with Coronavirus and the NHS wasn't testing me, I would find the money.

Angryrant55 · 16/03/2020 18:45

PARLY - 'This virus spares children almost entirely and therefore it is safe for children to go to school says Hancock.'

MarshaBradyo · 16/03/2020 18:46

Angryrant what is the clear advice to over 70s?

MarshaBradyo · 16/03/2020 18:46

Yes it does but they bring it home bit silly

Michelleoftheresistance · 16/03/2020 18:47

So many conditions are a spectrum from severe to mild. I suspect many people are going to be on the edges of the description given in that briefing and questioning vulnerable enough to self isolate. It may end up being a judgement call, but it's going to be very tricky for those who feel they should and want to self isolate for safety if there isn't enough clarity for their employers to release them.

Angryrant55 · 16/03/2020 18:47

The clear advice is over 70 with underlying conditions should isolate while the rest over 70 should simply reduce social contact.

CrunchyCarrot · 16/03/2020 18:48

I'm sure I heard them say 'all over 70s even those who are healthy with no underlying illness will be asked to self-isolate for 12 weeks.' Not just those with underlying problems.

This is so confusing!

nellodee · 16/03/2020 18:49

It's a piss-up/brewery failure.

Angryrant55 · 16/03/2020 18:49

Lucy Fisher -'Jeremy Hunt asks why the onus is on Britons to avoid going out. Asks Matt Hancock in Commons: “Will he also advise clubs, cinemas & restaurants to close their doors so there is absolute clarity that people should not at this moment be engaging in these activities?”.'

Angryrant55 · 16/03/2020 18:50

Tom Whipple - 'The team whose modelling estimates advised Cobra are presenting their modelling. They modelled controlled spread and realised 250,000 would die. Now advise stronger intervention to suppress - but no idea how long it will need to be in place.'
