Flu vaccine people who have advanced kidney or heart disease

ChequerBoard · 16/03/2020 17:12

So glad we started social distancing last weekend and kept the kids a off school from today. DH has heart failure and is in remission from cancer.

waspfig · 16/03/2020 17:12

Don't call 111 if your disease is mild or moderate. Call 111 if gets worse.

waspfig · 16/03/2020 17:12

We are proud of NHS staff etc.

Wakemeuuuup · 16/03/2020 17:12

So I'm a well managed asthmatic and currently on high anti inflammatories. Does that mean we all need to self isolate

picklemewalnuts · 16/03/2020 17:12

Thanks for the running commentary. Don't think I could watch it in person.

waspfig · 16/03/2020 17:13

We will give daily updates to give transparency.

picklemewalnuts · 16/03/2020 17:13

I think if you think you might need to, then surely you do need to?

MurrayTheMonk · 16/03/2020 17:13

Jesus 😳

Twasbambam · 16/03/2020 17:13

But what if we are in the vulnerable group but have dc that they still want at school?!

Greentea93 · 16/03/2020 17:13

@Farine as stated in my reply the article didn’t say he had leukemia it stated he was healthy so I wasn’t aware. I’m referring to your geez comment.

Originalyellowbelly · 16/03/2020 17:13

My DH has just returned from a routine hospital appt where they were setting up a coronavirus testing unit in the car park.

picklemewalnuts · 16/03/2020 17:13

They can't list every single thing, but you know if you are in that category.

waspfig · 16/03/2020 17:14

Questions

Are you closing theatres pubs restaurants today? Are you stopping visitors to care homes?
WHO said test, test, test. How can we track it if we don't know who's got it?

Angryrant55 · 16/03/2020 17:14

jenny hill - 'Merkel announces a ban on private travel - Germans now not allowed to go on holiday in or out of the country.'

PleaseStopCrying · 16/03/2020 17:14

Confirmed that pubs theatres etc not being forced to close.

MarshaBradyo · 16/03/2020 17:14

If the pubs are empty they should all close surely

MurrayTheMonk · 16/03/2020 17:14

Dd1 now going mad as she's so far healthy and going to be stuck in for two weeks and miss school.

Twasbambam · 16/03/2020 17:14

He said those that get the flu vaccine as adults, including heart/kidney disease...so I think that includes asthma?

picklemewalnuts · 16/03/2020 17:14

I assume when they can test, they will test. At the moment they can't so they are choosing a specific category.

Glittercandle · 16/03/2020 17:15

what about children with kidney disease ?

waspfig · 16/03/2020 17:15

Very strong advice that leisure venues should be visited.

Enforcement powers in place but shouldn't be necessary.

Don't unnecessarily visit care homes.

Testing is critical. ...

ChiaraRimini · 16/03/2020 17:15

Really everyone who gets flu vaccine? That's all asthmatics then, that's a lot of people

LambriniSocialist · 16/03/2020 17:15

Why are people stressing about schools? Just don't send your kids if you don't want to - tell them they have a cough or a temperature and you can keep them off for 14 days, no one is going to care at this point.

picklemewalnuts · 16/03/2020 17:16

It's about half of everyone over 50, I reckon! Most of us have something problematic!
