Government are going to look like a bunch of clowns now if they go against WHO advice

Too late........

Angryrant55 · 16/03/2020 16:11

@nellodee They gave a press conference rather than a press release.

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 16/03/2020 16:12

It really is all the proverbial pile of pants. Why are our govt prepared to throw so many of us under the bus?

Not 'just' those who are over 60 (but still not in receipt of their pensions), or those with underlying health conditions which is by no means exclusive to the over 60's as we all know, but our essential workers - HCP, teachers, dustbin men, you name it...

Answers on a postcard to Mr. B. Johnson, 10 Downing St, London W1.

Ventilatorshortage · 16/03/2020 16:13

Who said..

Children and young people even in developed countries STRUGGEL with this virus.

Whoever said wonder about work form home just do it.

colouringinpro · 16/03/2020 16:13

So wish the WHO could take control of the UK!

Angryrant55 · 16/03/2020 16:14

BBC Sport 'The Scotland Women player who had contracted coronavirus has now been released from hospital, Scottish rugby has confirmed.'

GobOnAStick · 16/03/2020 16:14

Think I would rather be living in China right now...

Quartz2208 · 16/03/2020 16:15

I disagree actually I think they still hoping to test and isolate and stop but the situation in Europe is far beyond that. There are too many cases to properly to do that. How will testing everyone really work?
The approach worked in China I can’t see it working anywhere else

Angryrant55 · 16/03/2020 16:15

Jonathan Ashworth 'Categorical & unequivocal from @DrTedros
‘test, test, test’ '.

Important - It seems Labour is seemingly ready to publicly speak out for mass testing.

GobOnAStick · 16/03/2020 16:16

wish someone would stick up for us, feel so helpless

CricketCrocket · 16/03/2020 16:18

Wtf is Boris doing? We’re getting this so wrong. What’s worse is that we’ve had warning about what’s coming and they’ve still fucked it up.

Helenj1977 · 16/03/2020 16:18

I wish I was American right now 🤔 The who are scary

Number12 · 16/03/2020 16:20

If boris gets this whole scenario wrong then he's going to be looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life, and he's not someone that blends in easily.

Quartz2208 · 16/03/2020 16:21

No the WHO are scared - that is what I got from the press conference they have absolutely no idea either how this is going to go or end and are desperately hoping testing is going to somehow solve this problem. But it is just too big in the US and Europe - now I dont think we are doing enough at all and some of the measures have come in to late but I dont think the WHO approach is going to work either.

And I dont think the US is the place to be either - how their health system is going to cope

and where is the evidence for children dying - there have been no reports from the WHO at all

MabelMoo23 · 16/03/2020 16:21

I’m watching the WHO press conference and I don’t know whether to cry or scream

The WHO, this is their thing. Their bag, their expertise. They know what they are doing. Why, why, why aren’t we listening to them????

MarshaBradyo · 16/03/2020 16:23

Quartz I agree. It won’t work in the West now. It’s too far gone.

But I still want to hear from Boris and to stay home now.

Lotuscup563 · 16/03/2020 16:23

Test...test...test and test again couldn’t be made more clearer from the WHO....our government petrifies me. With someone would come and sort our government out! Sad

MarshaBradyo · 16/03/2020 16:24

You are infecting people before you know to get a test and it gets out of control pretty much immediately.

Jenasaurus · 16/03/2020 16:25

anyone else having trouble viewing the worldometer coronavirus page. It tells me too many connections, does that mean it cant cope with the people viewing it or has it also caught the virus

Lotuscup563 · 16/03/2020 16:26

But if you knew lots of people had it in your town you wouldn’t venture out as you would not want to catch it..that would curve it hugely. People are still out and about because as far as they are aware, hardly anyone has it with only 1543 cases

CricketCrocket · 16/03/2020 16:26

Oh god, even Tedros is coughing now

Originalyellowbelly · 16/03/2020 16:27

If BJ comes out and says wash your hands I think I'll scream.

colouringinpro · 16/03/2020 16:27

the WHO guidance on self-isolating and caring for a patient bears no resemblance to the Uk's. So I've been doing it all wrong.

Lotuscup563 · 16/03/2020 16:27

I won’t scream...but I’d be close to tears! The guy is breaking my heart with his carefree attitude
